This special edition cd is awesome. There are several previously unreleased tracks and some additions to the original tracks. If you love films scores and enjoy this film, you must have this cd. It is at the top of my all time favorite film scores. The quality of the recordings are on par with the original release, which I thought was very good. Most of the additional tracks supplement the extra scenes added to the film for the extended cut, but there are also some gems that were missing from the original release, such the the "Bomb Assembly" and 'Execution" and "Closing Titles" that really complete the score.

This is one of the best scores I've heard. Stargate was a solid sci-fi action movie and featured a breathtaking soundtrack. This deluxe edition has all the fantastic music from the movie. The soundtrack is an outstanding mix of Egyptian musical motifs and a rousing symphonic score. For fans of the TV series Stargate SG-1, the movie soundtrack forms the basis for much of the score used in the TV series (particualrly the opening theme). Highly recommended.
