A Fantastic Couch Co-Op Space Adventure for Kids &
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Starlink: Battle For Atlas hit us as a bit of a surprise. As a toys-to-life game, it’s easy to write this one off as focused on a younger audience. But the core gameplay loop of this multiple-open-world space adventure is one that will satisfy both kids and adults, with adults potentially getting more out of the deal than the kids might. Yes, at its core marketing-pitch premise this is a game where you buy (awesomely designed) spaceship toys and snap them together in whatever configuration you can dream of to build a ship in the game itself that you then take off blasting through space with and wreaking havoc on planets below. But what isn’t immediately obvious from the box art is how deep the customization gets in terms of unlockable power-ups, item upgrades, and skill combinations within. There’s a pretty meaty Action-RPG-esque system here that allows you to get to a place where you’re developing custom builds that fit certain battle situations better than others. And when the kiddos go to bed, rest assured you can grab a standard controller and blast off with your ships, swapping gear without needing the toys attached whenever you want. I played a lot of this game with my 6 year old son in what ended up being a fantastic split-screen couch co-op setup. At first I was a bit concerned, because he wanted to play but kept getting lost. Quickly I realized that as first player, I could enable an option that kept my second-player son tethered to me at all times, so that he was never outside a certain radius of me without being teleported over to the action. This essentially made him like one of those kids you see at the Mall on a leash, but with the freedom to blow stuff up to his heart’s content. At first he was confused why it kept making him move, but as soon as he realized it meant he got to blow stuff up more he was thrilled and kept telling me to hurry up and get to the next battle or find the next quest location. This option for couch co-op made took this game from an average experience for us as a Father/Son gaming duo to an absolutely outstanding first-rate experience. Of course, my son’s favorite thing to do is swap pieces out on the real life toys, move wings to places they shouldn’t be, aim weapons backwards, and then see how that translates to his in-game space ship. Normally this cracks him up, although occasionally he realizes the practicality of 3 wings on one side of the space ship, all pointed varying directions, doesn’t pay off. As a result, this game even ends up a mini-lesson in physics! This was a major help in justifying the extra time he and I spent playing this game to his Mother. Physics lesson, Mom. Physics. Starklink: Battle For Atlas is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. We played our adventures on Switch, and if it’s an option we highly recommend that platform for the additional Star Fox content. Quite honestly this might be the best Star Fox game made since Nintendo 64. Gorgeous graphics, fun combat, tons to do, and carefully crafted couch co-op make this game a must buy this Holiday Season.

Fun Game
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all this isn't really a Starfox game, but the Starfox characters integrate into the story seamlessly. There are some Starfox side missions, but I haven't gotten to them yet so I cant comment on them. Anyway, I'm please to say that Starlink: Battle for Atlas is a very fun game. I've only played a few hours so far, but I've had a lot of enjoyment with the game. The nice thing is there are several difficulty choices so everyone can enjoy the game. So far the main things I've found to do in the game are complete quests, scan new lifeforms, take down enemies and enemy bases, and upgrade your ship/weapons and the Equinox which is sort of a home base. The game takes place completely from the ship you choose to use, but there's no real reason to leave the ship and walk around anyway. My biggest complaint is that the only way to use digital weapons is to remove the joycons from the toy ship's cradle. This is annoying because it means you either play all digital or all toys. I wish you could mix and match. The toys are fairly well made. I really like the design of the Arwing. The wings of the ship and weapons are easy to swap out, which is nice if you have multiple weapons and are in the middle of a fight. The back of the Arwing lights up while the game is running, which is a nice touch. The figures aren't quite as nice looking as I had hoped, but they aren't bad for the small size. Overall this is a great game with nice toys. I highly recommend it.

Love the starter pack for Battle for Atlas
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Starlink Battle For Atlas. If you have a kid with a Christmas wish list for their Nintendo Switch than you have to check out this super fun new game. Great for ages 8+ and it comes with a Starter pack plus more! If you like StarFox with Fox McCloud and Arwing and want to battle others then join the fun. This game is 1-2 players on tv and 1-player on the switch. In the game you will be exploring solar systems, fighting aliens and defending bases on planets. The ragtag crew, including Fox McCloud are some of the characters you can chose as your pilot. You can also choose the ship and weapons you want. With this starter pack you can put it together and then pilot, ship and weapons you choose will show up in your game (also available to purchase digitally). The game will even recognize if you face your weapons a different way or add wing extensions.

Nintendo Rocks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this game because it was the latest ang hottest item out for kids that year. My son cannot get enought of this game and it has held its weight on the market in regard to price and popularity over the years. The games are pretty expensive but overall my son loves his games and I'm getting my money worth. Also if you have a young child buy the warranty because they don't realize the value of electronics better to be safe then sorry.

Great game my daughter enjoys is
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So much fun! This is a great space saga with awesome modular toy technology which is pretty cool, my kids love it and I am still amazed. I remember playing the old consoles, so amazing that you can assemble and even customize the starships in real world. They are linked to your controller and you can play them in your game too. I’m glad there is options for more than one player so I don’t have to listen to my kids fight and that you can buy additional starship packs and step up your game even more with weapon packages that give you more abilities to get the job done. It’s focused on the younger kids but I enjoyed playing this game with my 7 year old daughter. My 15-year-old daughter didn’t seem to enjoy it has much but she hasn’t ever been much of a gamer. Of course my daughters favorite things to do is swap out pieces on the real life toys and move things around in different ways to see how it changed in his game space ship. I have to say it’s pretty cool, and daughter seemed to enjoy creating some unique ships by putting parts places they don’t belong and weapons backward because she could see the changes in her game screen. My younger children seemed to love this game and really appreciate the modular toy technology.

Open World Exploration with Real World Components
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My kids absolutely love games with physical components, so they love this game! Not only do you use pieces to change pilots, but you can customize your spaceship and weapons, too. I love that it's open world, which gives them the creativity to explore- it has kept them entertained for hours!

My Boys are Obsessed!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We're pretty Nintendo Switch addicted as it is, and my 14yo really wanted to play as StarFox, which is a Nintendo Switch exclusive! When you get the Nintendo Switch Starter Pack, you get a Fox McCloud pilot, Arwing ship, and an exclusive StarFox mission! He played for hours upon first receiving the game and a few accessories before his brother begged him to play co op, which was pretty fun! Personally, I was thoroughly enjoying the gorgeous graphics and fun techno-inspired music. We also giggled quite a few times at the lines made by the characters. All in all, this game is a huge win and we are excited to get more accessories to help the boys build bigger and better ships for gameplay! A+++!

Smooth Game Play and Fun Adventures
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son loved how you can customize the controller for Starlink: Battle for Atlas to fit your style of play. Of course he was most excited to use Fox McCloud from Star Fox! Once he got the right combo for him, he set off across the star system. He loved how smooth the gameplay was and also how big the star system is. You get to engage in dogfights in space and battle on the ground against a Prime so you won't get bored doing the same thing over and over. Also with the star system being as big as it is you don't have to worry about your gamer beating the game in a couple of days! The bad guys also have varying abilities so fighting them keeps you on your toes! Plus with the variety of weapons to choose from you can challenge yourself by using different combos!

Fun For The Whole Family!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I may have reverted back to my childhood days and enjoyed it way more than I thought I would, but it was such a blast. Plus, my girls loved it as well! Once we started the game, it wasn’t long before the hour flew by without us even realizing it! We were having too much fun strategizing together, laughing together and taking turns! Not only does this game work for your Nintendo Switch, but it will also create so much fun for you and your family! It’s honestly so much more than a “game”. It features modular toy technology that then allows each player to make their very own starship and launch it into the game to play with! The technology of this game is incredible! We were in awe of how it all worked together to transform on our screen.

Wonderful Mix of Nostalgia and Modern Graphics
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thoroughly enjoy Starlink Battle for Atlas, and I think everyone else out there will, as well. It has all the nostalgic feels of Starfox, the exploration of No Man’s Sky (but, you know, good), and the extra fun aspect of switching out characters and ships, a la Skylanders. All in all, it’s a game that combines the best aspects of some of my most beloved games into one super game that really works. I like to think of it as the Voltron of video games. If you have a gamer in your life, or if you are the gamer in your life, I encourage you to go out and snag Starlink Battle for Atlas. It is an exceptionally well-done game that is fun from the moment you pick up your controller to the moment you put it down.

Fun game but not sure I need the toys
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I like the game. The game play is fun and it looks good. After playing games similar to this that have the toys to purchase to unlock areas of the game, I wasn't sure that I wanted to get into another game like that. The cool part is that you don't have to make any other purchases to complete the game as you can play the whole game with just the included starter pack. If you do want to add items, you can either purchase the digital items to unlock them in the game or purchase the toys if you want the items unlocked and a collectible.

Super fun for gaming tweens
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My kids give this game a big thumbs up! They really enjoy customizing their starships before mounting them to the controller. They also love the toys-to-life aspect of space adventuring and the feeling of playing pilot (with distinct personalities!), flying their ships and exploring planets, creatively swapping out their wings and weapons – and so much more. The kids concur that there are so many visual aspects to see and explore in this game. All the battles, crafting, ships, pilots and weapons allow for endless fun. This game is a big hit in our home!

Love it!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My kids are the gamers in my family and this definitely scored 5 stars from them. From the amazing graphics to the ability to play on different settings, this game was a winner in my house. The toys that come with it are amazing and you can play with or without them. We are looking forward to hours and hours of entertainment (besides what we've already played).

The starfox game youve been waiting for.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.a shame ubisoft made it and not nintendo themselves! So just got my copy today. It comes witha toy arwing. but you dont need it to play the game and its so obtrusive having it on the joycon grip. so i just put the arwing in my display case and played the game normal. ok guys, the music is very soothing and relaxing. like that movie solaris with george clooney. the graphics are some of the best on switch imo. the worlds are beautiful. this is what no mans sky should have been. the starfox integration is completely involved in the game. it basically plays as a starfox game with guest characters. it thought it would be just some side mission stuff. but no. This is a starfox game without the name on the game box! controlling the arwing is very nice maybe better than actual starfox maybe worse depending if you like aiming with the right stick. i tottally recomend it to any starfox fan. and if you are a fan of no mans sky then its a double win. i about 2 hours in.
