I purchased this for ice fishing for TV in bad reception areas. The cost of the monthly service went up $20/month after the first of the year. It got returned. Setup looked very easy. It would probably be a great thing for my yacht and airplane some day.

I have had this for less than a year and bought this for the plans available. The one being a $10 a month plan for 10GB of data, perfect if this is not your primary device. However, Starlink recently changed their plans removing this options and forcing existing customers out of this plan such as with myself and forcing their customers to other options that are at minimum $50 a month for 100gb. To add to insult to injury, they also made it so you can be on “standby mode” with unlimited data for $5. This sounds fine when worded like this but it’s actually an option that used to be free to get your plan activated, the paid standby mode will not get you buy with other than sending a message or conveniently paying for a more expensive plan. The minimum being $50 a month. This is no longer a convenient device to have on the fly for a weekend trip unless you plan on shelling out $50 to use in the rare chances your out of cellular coverage. The newer phones have satellite messaging and will let you call emergency services when out of range of a tower. So do not get this with the purpose of emergency’s unless you need long term internet. Save your money and buy a new phone instead. Better yet buy a cellular signal booster. At least that you won’t have to pay $50 a month for.

Easy setup, just need a clear view of the northern sky. good bandwidth, been waiting to buy one, and the mini was jsut what i was waiting for. also setup with an Anker 100 watt usb C power brick, worked great.

Very practical. Having high speed internet access anywhere is priceless including while in places where there is no cellular service and even while driving on the road. Highly recommended.
