Out of the box, it feels nice with quality materials. Hardware seemed great. After getting it plugged in, I learned that I needed to register it with steelseries in order to get the software for it. That seemed a bit odd, but I went ahead and did it, which was simple enough. Installed the steelseries software and updated everything, but no sound came from the headset. Verified that I was using the correct audio jack and that it was plugged in all the way. Still nothing. Not only that, but the steelseries software was cutting my fps down to about 15-20 from my normal 60, which still wouldn't have been acceptable even if I did get sound. I'll be returning this and getting a Razer Kraken Chroma instead, even if it is $20 more. steelseries failed at this first impression and I'll never use their line of products ever again.

    Don't do it.

This review coming from someone who is a steel series fan. I currently use keyboard/mouse and have had headphones in the past from Steel Series. I've gone through a few headsets in the past 10 years and this is by far one of the worst I've ever used. MOSTLY because of the design.. the head strap is absolute trash. If you don't have a head the size of a watermelon, they WILL NOT fit on your head. They hold by Velcro and there is not enough of space to actually fit it precisely. If you look down or look up in any way, they fall off. Every time. The sound quality is decent. But it could sure be better. You'd think that they put that little effort into the design of the headstrap, the sound would be good. Not really. I gave this 2 stars. that almost felt generous.
