Feels like a $150 headset for $80.
Posted .After buying the Artcis 5 for myself, I bought the Arctis 3 for my younger brother. He is a devoted League of Legends player who is always running around. In the last week, I haven't seen him once without his Arctis 3. It has become an extension of his body. He says he is hearing effects and musical accents in LoL that he never heard before, and his music sounds so much better than his Beats headsets. I think his only complaint was wanting a more colorful headband.

Awesome new headset for everything!
Posted .I first saw the new Arctis headset on PC Gamer and was blown away by the design. It looks so sleek and slim, way different than all the other spaceship on your head gaming headsets out there. Upon trying it out I was first impressed by the comfort. It's super light and just fits right away without even adjusting anything. The ski band that SteelSeries hypes totally works in make the headset stay comfortable over time. So I fired up some music and tried out the headphones. The sound is really great. I watched some of the new Star Wars and loved how clear every shot and explosion were. Played some Fallout 4, and again was really impressed with the sound quality for $80! It comes with interchangeable cables, which is great, because I switch it back and forth between my PC and my PS4. I don't have to crawl behind my desk each time, I just swap out the adapter for the PS4 controller. Oh, almost forgot the microphone. I've used a Logitech and a TurtleBeach headset before, and the mics were always terrible. SteelSeries definitely did something different on Arctis, because this one is super clear! Good enough to even do some streaming with. Love the Arctis overall. Job well done, SteelSeries.

Very comfortable/solid mic
||Posted .I purchased this headset primarily to use with my Xbox one s as I use a PS4 gold headset for my PS4. Having owned both headsets I will say that I feel the arctis 3 is more comfortable than the gold and has very solid sound. My main issue with this headset is that I have to have he volume turned all the way up when gaming in order to get decent sound. This is only the case when plugging it into a ps4 or xb1 controller. Compared to the gold headset I would say it is more comfortable for sure but when it comes to gaming use only I think the gold takes it. I know it's not fair as the PS4 gold is made for the PS4 but I feel the PS4 gold headset has more bass plus wireless although not as comfortable as the steelseries. Overall I am very happy with this headset. The mic is amazing and sounds much clearer than the gold headset. Pros: Comfortable Great mic Nice treble Cons Poor bass Not very loud when gaming(plugged into xb1 or PS4 controller Overall I would rate this a 4 out of 5

Great Comfort Great Sound
Posted .I've used a variety of headsets from several brands for years. Playing mostly Xbox One (Destiny, COD, Halo, etc..) , but also some PC gaming (CS:GO mostly). My previous favorites were the HyperX Cloud and a pair of Astro A40s I had for a while. Comfort: The Arctis Headset is so ridiculously comfortable. My ears used to get hot from gaming to the point where I'd take one ear off, then switch, .. repeat. The material on the earcups is super soft and breathable and the headband isn't too tight on my big head. The headset looks simple, but man is it comfy. Sound: I'll start by saying I'm not an audiophile. I simply need my headset to be loud and clear and the Arctis is both. I swear i hear little things that I hadn't heard before. I'm playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and I can hear every little noise the sneaky police are making. I love it. I haven't played much multiplayer yet, but I've made a few phone calls on the headset and I'm told I sound very clear. That certainly wasn't the case before. Considering I paid less for this headset than any of my past ones, I will definitely recommend it to my gamer friends.

Good headset for the price
||Posted .I didn't have much in the way of expectations when I bought this headset but I was pleasantly satisfied with it. I switched to the Arctis 3 after my Logitech G430s broke. I wanted to see if I could find something with a lighter feel, but still get the sound quality from my logitechs. Well the headset is lighter and not nearly as tight. The headband offers ample room and the adjustable cloth strap is comfortable, though a bit finicky to get set into the just right position. The earpads are soft, and the cloth isn't irritating, but it isn't as breathable as I'd like. My ears get pretty hot when I'm wearing this thing. But when it came to the sound, I was let down. The standard plug and go stereo sound is about as good as any other headset there is, but the software that allows you to adjust audio levels/profiles/surround sound is horrible and buggy. Half the time it doesn't work, the other half you need to restart the software multiple times, unplug and replug your headset in, and the result is a mediocre audio suite. The virtual surround sound on these is horrible, especially paling in comparison to the Logitech G430. On the outside, the volume wheel is in a nifty position on the left ear cup, the microphone hides itself in that same ear cup and delivers decent quality, and the chord itself is covered in a sort of rubbery material. I've had it for over a month and it has never gotten even close to tangled. Overall, if you're just looking for a good headset, you could do much worse than this. But if you're wanting to adjust your audio settings or utilize the virtual surround sound, you'll be plagued with frustration with Steelseries Engine, the software required to utilize those features.

Great all around Mid-level headset
||Posted .This headset works great with multiple devices. I use mine for Xbox, PS4 and PC. Although 7.1 only works on Windows it's not that much of a difference. This headset is very comfortable and is not tight or loose on your head. The microphone works great at some noise cancelling because of the directional microphone which is a drawback sometimes if the mic happens to move while you are playing then you would be a little quiet but nothing to knock a star off. Great headset overall.

Good headset for modern consoles/PC
||Posted .I like the headset, works well enough for me on Xbox one, PS4, PC, and switch. The Arctis 3 headset is extremely comfortable, so I don't mind using for a couple hours at a time. Not too heavy, but not super light and cheap feeling either. The mic works good enough, can be a little sensitive to positioning. The breakaway cable system they have for switching between console and PC is very convenient. I like not having to constantly plug in the 3.5mm jacks to the motherboard every time I switch from console to PC, I can just leave it plugged in all the time. The software I don't really care about. I think it's good for the price, it works well for gaming, not super well for music while working at the PC, but for gaming it's pretty good.

Soft, light and gameworthy
||Posted .I was going to buy the Arctis 5 but decided I didn't need the channel phaser because I'm not a streamer. The ski band that rests on the head makes it feel like they're weightless when you put them on. You don't feel them on you unless you rest against something and have it press on you. The earphone cuffs are made from cloud like materials. I've used them for hours straight playing games without pain or discomfort. With other headphones I've owned, after a while the plastic/metal would press against my skin forcing me to hang them on my neck as I play. You can be at peace knowing that it won't try to hurt you in any way. The volume knob is perfectly placed right under the mute button on the headset. It has a retractable microphone that's da bomb. It really does what the advertise, which cancels ambient noises and really focuses on your voice. Playing with friends has now been easier because they can finally understand what I'm saying. I do highly recommend these headphones. The only thing that I was kinda bummed about is that the 7.1 sound is only available through PC. It does come with all the connections you'd need. If you're not in the need of a wireless headphone or one with a channel phaser, then these are the ones for you.

Q: QuestionWhat's the difference between the arctis 5 and the arctis 3
Asked by Trueman.
- A:Answer Hey Trueman, The Arctis 3 and Arctis 5 have a few key differences. While both offer virtual 7.1 surround sound, the Arctis 3 uses SteelSeries 7.1 and the Arctis 5 uses DTS Headphone:X 7.1. The Arctis 3 is purely analog (3.5mm connections), and the Arctis 5 has adapters for both USB and 3.5mm connections. Both are compatible with SteelSeries Engine 3, which gives you a ton of audio customization options. They also both have the same 40mm audio drivers and bidirectional mic, so you're not losing any sound or voice quality when you switch between the two. Because of the extra power provided by the USB, the Arctis 5 has customizable RGB lighting on both earcups. This will only work with the USB plugged in. The 5 also includes an inline ChatMix dial, which lets you balance between game chat (skype, discord, whatever) and the in-game audio. This is surprisingly useful when you've got that annoying guy either screaming or basically whispering during a match.

Q: QuestionDoes this headset have sidetone or mic monitoring?
Asked by Robert.
- A:Answer I bought this as a gift, but I can say that from my research, the SteelSeries does have software/USB amplifier monitoring/sidetone. I hope this helps. Resource link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Gaming_Headsets/comments/5s3u6z/pc_headsets_with_mic_monitoringsidetone/

Q: QuestionIs this a USB headset? It is not mentioned in the product description.
Asked by Derpsbane.
- A:Answer No, it's wired analog. It comes with a long cable with dual 3.5mm for desktop PCs and a short 4-pole 3.5mm plug for laptops, consoles, mobile...etc. But it does include 7.1 surround sound and other audio DSP in their SteelSeries Engine software.

Q: QuestionHow comfortable are these for someone who wears glasses? (I wear RayBans that are fairly large with thick temples)
Asked by Adrian.
- A:Answer I wanted a headset comfortable for this reason as others were squeaky or too tight etc. I find it great, the material doesn't stick or anything to my frames and it's not tight to cause pain like others have. Highly recommend!
