After buying the Artcis 5 for myself, I bought the Arctis 3 for my younger brother. He is a devoted League of Legends player who is always running around. In the last week, I haven't seen him once without his Arctis 3. It has become an extension of his body. He says he is hearing effects and musical accents in LoL that he never heard before, and his music sounds so much better than his Beats headsets. I think his only complaint was wanting a more colorful headband.

I purchased this headset primarily to use with my Xbox one s as I use a PS4 gold headset for my PS4. Having owned both headsets I will say that I feel the arctis 3 is more comfortable than the gold and has very solid sound. My main issue with this headset is that I have to have he volume turned all the way up when gaming in order to get decent sound. This is only the case when plugging it into a ps4 or xb1 controller. Compared to the gold headset I would say it is more comfortable for sure but when it comes to gaming use only I think the gold takes it. I know it's not fair as the PS4 gold is made for the PS4 but I feel the PS4 gold headset has more bass plus wireless although not as comfortable as the steelseries. Overall I am very happy with this headset. The mic is amazing and sounds much clearer than the gold headset. Pros: Comfortable Great mic Nice treble Cons Poor bass Not very loud when gaming(plugged into xb1 or PS4 controller Overall I would rate this a 4 out of 5

I didn't have much in the way of expectations when I bought this headset but I was pleasantly satisfied with it. I switched to the Arctis 3 after my Logitech G430s broke. I wanted to see if I could find something with a lighter feel, but still get the sound quality from my logitechs. Well the headset is lighter and not nearly as tight. The headband offers ample room and the adjustable cloth strap is comfortable, though a bit finicky to get set into the just right position. The earpads are soft, and the cloth isn't irritating, but it isn't as breathable as I'd like. My ears get pretty hot when I'm wearing this thing. But when it came to the sound, I was let down. The standard plug and go stereo sound is about as good as any other headset there is, but the software that allows you to adjust audio levels/profiles/surround sound is horrible and buggy. Half the time it doesn't work, the other half you need to restart the software multiple times, unplug and replug your headset in, and the result is a mediocre audio suite. The virtual surround sound on these is horrible, especially paling in comparison to the Logitech G430. On the outside, the volume wheel is in a nifty position on the left ear cup, the microphone hides itself in that same ear cup and delivers decent quality, and the chord itself is covered in a sort of rubbery material. I've had it for over a month and it has never gotten even close to tangled. Overall, if you're just looking for a good headset, you could do much worse than this. But if you're wanting to adjust your audio settings or utilize the virtual surround sound, you'll be plagued with frustration with Steelseries Engine, the software required to utilize those features.

Great headset. Mic is very clear. Sometimes the max volume seems a little quiet to me but I might just be hard of hearing. Very comfortable and overall a great buy.

Starting with the sound aspects of the headphones: On the PC it took a while to figure out the 7.1 config since it's a software simulation. On the XBox 1 and Playstation 4 it's straight up plug and play and the sound is pretty decent stereo. The mic quality is really good, (at least that's what people say when we're using it for multiplayer). On the build quality: The ear cups and strap are very comfortable and soft, the plastic build it's sturdy enough, I keep them in my game console area, but not quite sturdy for travel or toss them in a pack daily. I wish they'd have a bit of a way to firm up the headphones once on my head, also feels like they're floating vs. sitting on my head. Final Thoughts: If you're looking for a plug into the controller and play types Headphone/Mic for both PS4 and Xb1 this works great, the quick release that also lets you plug straight into your pc is a genius idea as well. Just wish they felt a slightly bit firmer and wouldn't slide if my head moved quickly.

The sound quality and fitment of these headphones are great. Very comfortable and somewhat lightweight. My one gripe with the sound would be they are not sound deadening. The cords are extra long and a volume switch is conveniently placed on one of the ear phones. However, about 2 weeks in are when the problems started. Only, and only when gaming will the left side cut out. No sound, no lowered volume. Just dead. It usually involves me either retarting the game or going though realtek audio managmemt and having to mute all outputs, then un-mute them to get sound back. Shortly thereafter, there would be a horrendous crackling sound, again, only from the left side when my pc would start up. The sound almost was like static but made my ear drum curl. These issues are not consistant and appear at random. Sometimes itll go for days or even weeks before i have sound issues. Ive looked up similar issues and as with other users, not all have found solutions. Just be warned. My issues seem to be more software related, most coming after installation of windows 10

I’ve purchased several cheap pairs of headsets for work and finally decided to invest in a pair that were a bit more durable and comfortable but also featured a mute functionality. I have to say that this set has really exceeded my expectations. The earpieces do not put too much pressure on the ears (they actually cup around the entire ear, nearly eliminating pressure altogether) and the sound quality is quite good. I particularly like that the microphone is retractable, although the extension piece can get a bit unruly at times. This is easily corrected, however, as all you have to do is reshape it to conform to your face. I’m not sure how that specific piece will hold up over the long run (I have to reshape it daily) so it might be a good idea to purchase the extended protection plan. The set is a little larger than I would prefer, but this is not really a significant issue and is certainly offset by the quality of the product. Overall, great set for the price!

Bought these headphones on the strength of the steel series brand, and they did not disappoint. The sound is fantastic, and they are very comfortable. The only thing I do not like about them are the cables. I knew going in that this was a wired headset, but instead of using an easily replaceable cable, they have a proprietary connector on the headphone side. That means that if the cable ever breaks, you will have to get one directly from the manufacturer. Other than the cable however, these are great.

The headsets are extremely comfortable and the sound is stunning. The only downside is the location of the volume control on the rear of the left ear cup. Care must be taken when handling them to avoid unintentionally changing the volume (roller style). The mic mute button is also located in this area. The mic slides back into the ear cup allowing them to be used as regular headsets as needed. The downloadable software allows you to customize the sound parameters to the games your playing or for listening only.

I love this headset. I would never recommend anyone waste money on turtle beach or Xbox headsets because they are expensive, bulky, and tend to be lacking in quality of sounds. Steel series really nailed it with this series of headsets. Lightweight, comfortable, top-notch sound quality for listening to the opponent's footsteps, playing for hours on end and they keep your ears cold and not sweaty at all.

These headphones are really comfortable, the sound quality is great, and I don't get any fatigue wearing them. I tried a few other pairs (Razer and others), and these are far the best for the price point. Didn't really see a point paying $20 more for RGB lighting so these were the winner. The mic quality is clear, the sound is crisp, and having a mute button, volume dial, and retractable mic is nice. Can't recommend enough.

I was going to buy the Arctis 5 but decided I didn't need the channel phaser because I'm not a streamer. The ski band that rests on the head makes it feel like they're weightless when you put them on. You don't feel them on you unless you rest against something and have it press on you. The earphone cuffs are made from cloud like materials. I've used them for hours straight playing games without pain or discomfort. With other headphones I've owned, after a while the plastic/metal would press against my skin forcing me to hang them on my neck as I play. You can be at peace knowing that it won't try to hurt you in any way. The volume knob is perfectly placed right under the mute button on the headset. It has a retractable microphone that's da bomb. It really does what the advertise, which cancels ambient noises and really focuses on your voice. Playing with friends has now been easier because they can finally understand what I'm saying. I do highly recommend these headphones. The only thing that I was kinda bummed about is that the 7.1 sound is only available through PC. It does come with all the connections you'd need. If you're not in the need of a wireless headphone or one with a channel phaser, then these are the ones for you.

This is a great headset. Had turtle beaches and astros before this and in my opinion this blows them out of the water. These are super comfortable and lightweight. The sound is amazing and the mic is also amazing as well. These are hands down better then more expensive headsets I've had in the past. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to buy a new gaming headset.

I like the headset, works well enough for me on Xbox one, PS4, PC, and switch. The Arctis 3 headset is extremely comfortable, so I don't mind using for a couple hours at a time. Not too heavy, but not super light and cheap feeling either. The mic works good enough, can be a little sensitive to positioning. The breakaway cable system they have for switching between console and PC is very convenient. I like not having to constantly plug in the 3.5mm jacks to the motherboard every time I switch from console to PC, I can just leave it plugged in all the time. The software I don't really care about. I think it's good for the price, it works well for gaming, not super well for music while working at the PC, but for gaming it's pretty good.

Nice weight to them. They are noise cancelling. I really like the retractable microphone AND it comes with two sets of plug. One for PC that has two jacks (headphone and microphone) and a single jack for console systems. Application for sound is pretty good as well.

My son is a big gamer and very particular about his headphones. He's had several other brands. He really likes the sound quality, comfort, fit, and how the mic can be hidden inside the ear piece. He's had no complaints. It's not always easy to pick out headphones in a store, but he really likes these.
