I love the fact that I can listen to my favorite music from my iphone while I play Call of Duty and I can hear the game sounds and even the chat from my friends. I can even adjust the sounds independently for both game, chat and Bluetooth.

Couldn’t be more disappointed. These are incredibly uncomfortable. I must have a miniature head because this is the first gaming headset that not only covers my ears but also sits on my jaw, which becomes very uncomfortable quickly! Worse than that the right ear piece just broke at the pivot joint within 2 weeks, completely useless now! Waaayyyy to expensive for what you get. Interface is not intuitive!

Read the reviews on the headset and thought they were really good. I like the fact that you can retract the mic when not in use and muting it with a button rather then flipping up a mic all the time. Downfall is I had the same problem with this headset as my turtlebeaches I had which was from putting on and taking off both sides broke where they attach on the sides and they only lasted a couple months. My turtlebeaches lasted longer and I used them more then I used this headset. Wouldn't recommend this headset for people that play a lot of video games.

Steelseries support is terrible. I had an issue 6 months after purchase of headset, it stopped charging. Submitted to support my problem. They send instructions including where to get the serial number and what to do if the serial number is warn. You take a picture of the warn serial number and serial number on the box. The sticker serial number is under the headband which will get sweaty and rub against the sticker. The reply they can't do an RMA because the serial number is warn off. Other then the charging issue and serial number sticker the product is in great shape. I have receipt, box and pictures of the device which is in great shape. If I did not have the box or receipt with the warn serial number I would understand. The location they place the sticker is likely to wear which they can use as a reason not to provide support. For clarity I forgot to get the Best buy support plan, this is steelseries support.

Absolutely terrible sound and quality. For $200 this headset is not worth it. I’ve owned many different gaming headset and for this price you can get much better quality headsets with customization options. Biggest issue with this headset is there’s only four EQ presets and they’re not that great. The quality of the material to make this headset is very cheap and the ear muffs start to hurt about an hour into gaming. If you play any kind of shooters that depend on sound these are not for that. Go with Astros.

The hinge on mine broke after a couple years. I now realize how common this problem is. You can easily see how often this hinge issue occurs with a quick internet search. The broken hinge is not easily DIY fixable either. I wouldn’t waste your money on this.

I’ve had the SteelSeries Arctis 9X for about a month now. It’s the best headset I’ve owned (upgraded from Logitech Artemis G633). I was sick of wired headsets and wanted to switch it up. I was afraid of the battery on a wireless headset dying a lot and not being able to game because of it, but the battery life of the SteelSeries 9X is excellent. The noice cancellation is great and the stereo surround sound is 10/10. It is very sturdy and durable with its metal construction. The ear cups fit over my ears so they’re very comfortable and the elastic band eases the weight of the headphones on your head. The only issue I’ve had with it, and this could just be a special case or something else on my end, but I have had it randomly disconnect from my Xbox mid-game. It will say not microphone found. It’s been frustrating but it doesn’t happen constantly just something that stands out and this is why I gave it 4 stars.

Much better than my previous headset. My expectations were high given the cost of the unit. I am a bit disappointed. What I like: - Direct connection to the Xbox. My previous headset 'broke' when the headset connection to the Xbox controller mucked up and I would lose sound in one ear and have other problems. The direct connection totally prevents that. - Sound quality. I'm not an audiophile, but it does appear to be premium quality. I tried the headset with Dolby Atmos and there was no discernible difference between it and the Windows Sonic sound. - Super comfortable on head and ears, albeit a bit warm after awhile. - OK noise canceling - I can still hear things in the room but if the wife or kids come in the room - I can at least recognize they're trying to talk to me. - Battery life seems reasonable. - Mute is easier to turn on/off than prior headset - tactile-wise it's a big button and a light on the mic informs you of status. What I don't like: - Not a huge issue, but I did experience some of the connection problems that others have noted in their reviews. You have to hold the on/off button for a really long time to turn the unit on. (3 vs. 5 seconds seems like an eternity sometimes). At one point, the headphones connected via bluetooth to my computer instead of the Xbox like I wanted. - Also related to the above are the twin volume buttons to control in-game speech and in-game volume. They do move really easy and if you rank those up - it will make you think you're not connected. - What I really miss is the ability to hear myself in the speaker. The feature DOES exist - it's just very faint. I had to set it to max via PC connection. The left wheel controls volume of chat vs. game but muting one or the other as you turn the wheel. It does have a good tactile mark for 'middle' - however if you aren't paying attention you may lose chat with friends unknowingly. - Need to update to PC (no native way to control headphones via Xbox that I have found) To mess with some of the premium features, you have to connect via PC. There is no native app in Xbox to conduct this. For $250, that seems like a reasonable thing to ask for - especially if you primarily use a Mac (and along the lines of a Mac - the update software wouldn't work via a USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter - so I had to bust out a PC).

Have been using this daily heavily with my PC and phone for videos, gaming, calls, etc. Battery life is way more than enough for a day's use. Connectivity is a breeze, however interference while gaming is there (my Astro A50 have zero interference as a reference). The connections are solid and easy for both bluetooth and xbox/Microsoft usb receiver, well kinda. The range is not very good in my place, once outside the room it drops. The build quality is high end, comfort level is very high (with glasses). Sound quality is good. For sure is not the cheap sound of other gaming headsets. Actually as good as the clouds alpha for what I can tell (preference aside). For pure wirelesss gaming the A50 are better. For bluettoth/phone calls, daily use with the PC, phone and gaming on Xbox with no dongle this are amazing. However here comes the deal breaker. The xbox adapter with the PC worked perfect for youtube and teleconference. Unfortunately while gaming the signal quality hits the dumpster. Cracks, pops, interferance all made this useless for its main selling point: gaming wireless on xbox and pc with the adapter. Sound quality on Arctis 9x is all right, I happen to have much superior equipment for pure sound quality so I was not looking for sound quality on this headset. However what I was looking for it did not deliver.

Pro’s All metal construction, Lighter than Astro A50s(surprisingly), Bluetooth(A50s don’t have it), comfortable, good sound, less expensive than Astros Cons Line of sight connectivity(ANNOYING!), less programmable and no phone APP so it’s PC only to make changes, Chat mic is uber sensitive and pics up everything(this may be adjustable on a PC) Turtle Beach and Astro flagship headsets have proved lacking in durability, hoping for the best on the Steelseries Actis line

Being new to the Xbox world, I decided to go for a quality headset to see what they might be like. This headset has great sound quality and are very comfortable. The battery life is quite good and the only problem I ran into is with the connection. This doesn't cause me trouble often, but every once in a while I may get disconnected. One of the best parts about this headset is the Bluetooth feature. I love being able to listen to my music while gaming or just moving around the house.

I really like these headphones. The quality of the build is very nice but do be careful with the ear cups as my initial pair snapped when they fell a few times. The sound quality is fantastic for playing games and the microphone quality is top notch. I don’t deal with the echos that a lot of my friends less expensive gaming headphones deal with. There’s even an EQ you can download if you want to customize the presets (there’s 4). The bonus is Bluetooth that works well and allows music from my phone why playing. The chat mixer dial is also a plus. The biggest issue I have is that the connection to the Xbox itself can run into issues. These headphones use the same proprietary Xbox wireless connection that the Xbox remotes do. Occasionally I run into issues with drops in the audio or not connecting at all. This leads to having to turn them on and off a few times before the issue stops. I have read that this comes from interference from things using 2.4Ghz frequency that the Xbox uses so try to shut off or distance your other electronics Using this frequency from you Xbox and where you sit in order to minimize this issue. This does include routers, which I myself had to move farther from my Xbox in order to solve this issue although it does pop up now and again. Also the battery life while good will cause connection issues as well so keep track of it. One good thing is that you can still use the headphones while it is charging via the micro USB connection as long as you don’t mind having the wire attached. Overall I say that the small snags do not detract from what is a pretty great pair of headphones if you’re willing to fork over the $200. I have converted some of my friends over from their old headphones when they tried mine out.

I really want to recommend this headset to people and for about a year I would vouch for it as one of the best gaming headsets for xbox I've ever owned. For context I've owned Astro A50s, A10s, a razer headset, and a turtle beach headset. Apologies I can't remember the specific on the razer and turtle beach as they were quite a few years back when I owned them. Anyways Astro A50s are proud on the whole the best I've ever had but, when the headset is working properly, the Arctis Series 9X wireless is very close behind the A50s and at about $100 cheaper. Pros: · Comfortable: as someone with bigger ears and a rounder head I very much enjoyed how comfortable the 9X was. It didn't feel very heavy and the eat pads are fit my ears nicely. · Audio: simply put games sound very nice on this headset. There is a dial on the back of the left cup to mix party/game chat and it gives a little "click" to tell you that you are getting the same volume level from both party and game. this serves a good base for you to then adjust on the fly whether you want more game sound or party sound in any given moment. · Battery Life: this headset lasts fairly long. If I remember correctly my longest gaming session with it was about 8-10 hours. · PC app: there's a PC app called the GG Engine which allows you to further customize the EQ on the headset. · Compatibility with multiple devices: this is an Xbox headset however it also has Bluetooth functionality one of my absolute favorite things is being able to play Xbox while I have a football game going on my PC and the audio from both coming through my headset with no issues. · information: the headset does a good job of telling you it's status. When your mic is muted there is a noticeable red light at the end of the boom mic that is on while muted to let you know that you are muted. Beeping sounds occur to let you know batter life though they only occur when closer to dead at maybe 25%. Light in the bottom of the right ear cup also tells you it's battery depending on it's color. If its green, it's more or less full. Yellow: getting low. Red: dying. Cons: · connectivity issues: I am on my second one of these headsets and this is an issue I've now experienced in both. Sometimes at random it will just turn off. It'll be at full charge and just randomly turn off while I'm gaming. And it will do this almost nonstop until I give up and just call it a day. One time I couldn't complete a sentence because I would get a few words in then it would turn off. Okay I turn it back on and continue —and it turned off again. It's incredibly frustrating and I could not figure out the root issue. The backbreaker: honestly I think I'd still recommend the headset even with the prior issue as I think I can count the times it occurred on one hand. Though they did still occur and it was still very frustrating. However what really did me in was an issue I have also run into for both the first time I got the headset and the second. The headset essentially bricked itself. All the lights would suggest that it's turned on. I put it on, there's no audio and I cannot turn "off" the headset. Its just stuck with the lights on but no functionality. This happened on my first one about a year in and my second one about a month in. Conclusion: I know I listed a lot of pros in this review and am only giving it 3 stars but that's how much the issues negatively impacted my impression of the headset. I just cannot bring myself to fully recommend the headset given my experience with it. When it's working it is very good and competes with some of the best Xbox headsets in my opinion. These issues that come up however are simply too much in my opinion especially given the cost. $200 is not super expensive considering the price of some others but it's notnothing. If you buy it I hope you have a better experience than I did because when it works it really is nice. I also hope you buy any warranty for it as well.
