The headset has one of the best microphone you can experience and so very clear with your voice, it can be too worthy and so it has the options to alter its settings to your comfort, the design is so very lightweight but DURABLE, built for comfort and no headsweats like other brands with leather like material ear cuffs, Great battery life, operated for 2 hours on 15 minutes of charge, full battery in a hour and a half, sound is almost perfect id rate it a 9/10 but overall still amazing, noise cancellation to the outside is also a plus, if you want a overall 10/10 gaming experience this one is it and worth your penny!

Bought this for my wife, she has gone through quite a few pairs of headphones with mics so I was hesitant to make another purchase. Turns out she had no complaints about quality of sound and more importantly quality of microphone output. No more muffled or robot voice on the other end when playing online. Worthy purchase and clear input and output on this accessory.

I think this is a gold standard for headsets—something I can use for everything. I can use it for PC, consoles and my phones without it looking like I am on esports the whole time. I can use it for meetings, or calls, and I can use it for listening to music. Design Headphones look good—the black design and the subtle finish and edges make it possible to use for any activity that will require a headset. They are the right weight—unlike others that are too light that it does not feel engaging enough to wear. It’s not flashy and it looks stealthy. I can easily slide the headphones in my head using one hand, with my glasses on. The top band is firm but not tight, and it does not bother my scalp (I am very particular about scalp rubbing—it gets me out of the game). The head setting is fully-flexible—not the ones where it has preset clicks. I can slide it exactly based on my head size which gives the utmost customization. The earfoams are comfy—they have a good balance of fluffiness and density to stay snug which leads to decent comfort. It takes some getting used to especially that it feels a little hot. I was a little bothered in my first two hours, but then I started to get used to it—because I had to make sure the AC was on. The buttons are easy to memorize and are distinct from each other. The volume is a roller, the connection cycle button is right by the power button and has a recognizable click sound, while the mute button sits lower when it is pressed so I do not need indicator lights to let me know if I have muted myself. The mic is nicely tucked into the headphones and do not look like a flimsy metal wire because it is flexible but stays in shape. Connectivity and Performance Connectivity is great. I love that I can use one headphones for all my devices, especially when I switch from Breath of the Wild to NBA2K on Ps5. The dongle is unique so I won’t confuse it with my other dongles, and it can also be connected directly using Bluetooth to my phone. Connection to the dongle and a Bluetooth device is very unique—this is my first time experiencing the ability to connect to the dongle 2.4ghz and Bluetooth using the button sets and the indicator lights with matching voice prompts are very helpful. The companion app is very helpful too, especially with all the presets for various games and music types as well. This makes the sound settings and quality much easier to setup, because honestly, most headphones nowadays have great connection quality and sound, it all boils down to design and features. Don’t get me wrong, the quality sound quality on this headset is great, I just think the other features I mentioned about this make this topnotch. Because it even has settings for music. And I did a couple of calls on it too, and they sound great; I sounded great per them. Battery life is quite exceptional. I am on my 4th day and I still have umm, 96% of battery life left. Lol. At least that’s what the app says. 3 days of at least 4 hours, and I’m at 96%. This is the most versatile gaming headset I have ever experienced. I wouldn’t even call it just a gaming headset. It is a headset for everybody.

Not Just for PS 5 and Retractable Mic is Awesome

From the moment when I unbox the headset, it’s a clear winner at this price range. This Arctis Nova 5 headset is well-made, and the headset comes with a USB-C charging cable and a USB-C female port extension cable, both are useful accessories especially if you game on a desktop PC and your USB-C port is not at the front facing you. The headset is designed to be used with any gaming platform. I have used the headset to play games on PS 5 and PC and it’s been a positive experience. Design and Build Quality I really like the retractable microphone design. It makes the headset really useable both as a gaming headset and a headphone. When the microphone is not retracted, the headset appears to be like just a normal headphone. When the microphone is retracted, I like that I can easily adjust the position of the mic relative to my mouth. The headset is also fairly light, and it is comfortable to wear. Build quality is okay, it is not too plasticky and it appears to be durable to withstand daily use. Headset buttons are all very useable and easy to reach. The battery is rated at 60 hours and it’s good enough since most people would charge headset once a week if not once in several days. Connectivity This headset wins in terms of connectivity. The 2.4 Ghz dongle uses USB-C port, which is really useful these days and it is the preferred way to connect to Playstation 5. Some computers these days like Macbook doesn’t come with USB-A ports so the USB-C dongle I would say is more universal. The headset can also connect to devices through Bluetooth, which works well, though technically speaking 2.4 GHz should perform better in terms of latency. Now onto latency, yeah there’s a slight latency in terms of audio input but that’s quite normal for a gaming headset. Of course with Bluetooth you can connect the headset to your phone or any other BT enabled devices. Audio and Microphone Performance The volume at maximum level is loud enough and audio positioning/ spatial audio works well. I played Ghost of Tsushima on PS 5 and the headset accurately positioned the source of sound such as the position of the enemy. I don’t have problem with the microphone setup and it works well on both PS 5 and PC. Voice is clear enough and I’m happy to report that third party voice changer software works well. Discord also works well with the headset. I would not make the headset as my preferred one to listen to music because it is clear that the headset sound profile is geared more onto gaming. But that’s just because I have numerous better headsets to listen to music. The GG app also gives you tons of customization and it adds great value to the headset. There’s game presets readily available, which makes this software a must if you play games on PC. The app currently only supports PC. Final Thoughts The headset is awesome for gaming on multiple platforms. Even if you game only on PS5, this is a great gaming headset. While it may not be the cheapest out there at the given price range, this Steelseries headset gives you a winning combination: great design, connectivity, software features and overall performance. If you want a gaming headset that can become a normal looking headphone for you to use with your phone, this headset is a good choice.

First, kudos to Steelseries for the cool packaging and the stickers -nice touch! Second, I really appreciate the overall aesthetic of the headset. It certainly feels very gamer oriented. Although it is made almost entirely of plastic and quite light, it still feels very sturdy. The headband is very bendable. The cups have good rotation and thankfully do not creak. The fabric covered memory foam pads are well made and washable. I am glad that there are physical buttons for the functions and a volume wheel. The boom mic extends and retracts well into place and is very flexible. The headset does stick out a bit, but I still appreciate the design language. The headset is very comfortable in my experience. Due to the elastic suspension underneath the headband, I did not notice any soreness on top. The earcups are super soft, and the breathable material allowed for extended playtime without getting too hot and sweaty. I wear glasses and that’s not a problem at all. As far as connectivity, this headset truly delivered. Not only can I connect to the PS5 as advertised, but also PC, both with a dongle. All other platforms such as the Switch and Android devices can be connected via Bluetooth 5.3. Sadly, there is no X-Box support (there is another variation for that). The best part is that you can easily toggle between dongle and Bluetooth. When receiving a call, a notification comes on and you can take the call with the button. The only thing that’s missing is a 3.5mm jack and USB-C wired audio support. The battery life is also quite impressive. It is claimed that it can last up to 60 hours, and it’s been a few days and it still going strong. Plus, the quick-charge (15 minutes adds 6 hours) works very well. The boom mic is worthy when playing multiplayer, albeit not as good as a dedicated mic. And in Bluetooth mode, it can sound a bit digital with less bass. Also, keep in mind that ChatMix is not available on PS5 or PC, so you have to use the device’s chat mix options. The companion app and software extend the versatility and customization of this headset considerably. Simply download the app (Android or iOS) or the GG Software. Both offer a multitude of EG presets for gaming and video content as well as firmware updates. The PC software adds a bit more features, especially mic preferences. All this tech is great, but what about the (arguably) most important thing: sound? Well, I am pleased to say that I am quite impressed with the audio quality the 40mm drivers deliver. At the default flat EQ setting, the bass is quite boomy and has a deep subwoofer feel. The midrange is not as recessed, and the treble is a bit higher than what I’m used to, but not as bad as to be fatiguing. I messed around with the EQ presets (not all 100 plus) and I ended up choosing a couple depending on the game or content. The headset remembers one setting for the 2.4Hz dongle and another for the Bluetooth, which is great since I usually listen to podcasts and music on my mobile. The audio quality may not be the best, but it’s dynamic and fun, which is all I ask. In the end, I think this headset provides a lot of value in tech, options, and performance, making it easy for me to recommend it.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P is a great wireless headset. It uses both Bluetooth and a 2.4 GHz USB-C dongle to connect to your PC, phone, or PlayStation 5. It's great to have both since the dongle is not nunnecessaryse the headset, so losing the dongle isn't the end of the world like it is headsets. The Arctis Nova 5P has its app on both PC and your phone to change the mixer to EQ presets for games like Elden Ring, Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty, and many others. The audio quality is good and clear, and the headset can get loud, so if you enjoy listening to music on full volume, you won't be disappointed. The headset is really good for both gaming and everyday use. The mic being a pullout is great since it doesn’t get in your way when gaming or when using it for any other activity. The mic itself is great and clear for multiplayer games and phone calls. The headset is light and not bulky, making it great for long hours of gaming since it doesn’t create neck stress over a long period of time. The battery lasts 60 hours on a single charge, which is great since the headset only needs to be charged every other day. The only con of the headset is the dongle because when connected to the PS5, the only available USB-C port is in the front and when the dongle is inserted, it blocks the USB-A port, which is a mild annoyance but not a major flaw of the headset. The headset is adjustable both by the headband and the ear muffs being able to be pulled down to reach your ears which is great for big and small heads. The headset is made of plastic which makes it bendy, which is great for a headset since it doesn't feel uncomfortable to put on. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P is a great choice if you want a good gaming experience and an everyday use headset. It is a very versatile headset and a worthwhile purchase.

This SteelSeries - Arctis Nova 5 Wireless Gaming Headset provides exceptional comfort and endurance during gaming. Its ergonomic and lightweight design caused me no head pressure during my gaming sessions. Although I usually prefer leatherette earcups, these fabric ones are surprisingly comfortable, effectively isolating sound with their foam and ventilated fabric construction. The adjustable headband is sturdy and well-made. With my average head size, the headset fits securely, stays in place, and doesn't move around. Equipped with a 2.4GHz USB-C dongle and Bluetooth 5.3, the headset offers excellent connectivity options. It is compatible with a wide range of devices, including PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC, and any phone or tablet with a USB-C port. SteelSeries thoughtfully included a USB-C to USB-A charging cable and a USB-C to USB-A dongle extension cable. When I plugged the dongle into my PS5, the headset connected instantly, and I've never experienced any lag or connection drops. The audio quality is excellent and customizable through the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Companion App. The headset buttons are easy to control and remember. The retractable microphone can be tucked away when not in use, and a red LED indicator lights up when muted. My experience has been fantastic; after three days of use, the headset functions and performs flawlessly with no issues.

SteelSeries has done it again. They have gone above and beyond with their new Arctis Nova 5P headset, not only do these sound great but they are also amazingly comfortable for extended gaming or just leisure audio sessions. Let’s go over some of the features and what Arctis Nova has to offer. Comfort: One thing that stood out to me the most was comfort. From the moment you put them on you forget that they are even there. SteelSeries knocked it out of the park again with their signature AirWeave earcups. They're incredibly plush and breathable, keeping your ears comfy during even the most intense gaming sessions, no more hot or sweaty ears. You have to put them on to find out how truly comfortable they are. Quality Audio: The Arcis Nova 5P boasts precision drivers that deliver crisp, detailed audio, immersing you right into the game. Every sound is reproduced with accuracy, giving you a competitive edge and letting you lose yourself in the rich audio experience. Now I have tested these out on my PS5 and the PC and they sound great no matter what you use them with. 100 + Audio EQ: The SteelSeries GG companion app lets you choose from a massive library of pre-made EQ presets specifically designed for different game genres, there are over 100+ presets for you to choose from. Whether you're strategizing in an RPG, shooting away enemies in an FPS, or racing down the track, there's an EQ preset for that. Wireless or Wired Flexibility: The Nova 5P cuts the cord without compromising performance. The 2.4 GHz wireless dongle provides a lag-free connection, while Bluetooth 5.3 lets you seamlessly switch to your phone for music or calls without interrupting your gameplay and if you ever need a wired connection, the included USB-C cable ensures you're never out of the game while keeping you charged. There is also an option to extend your range if you need to go and grab a snack or something, but it comes at the expense of audio quality. Battery Life: I must admit the battery life of these headphones is pretty impressive, lasting for extended gaming sessions without needing a recharge, we are talking about 60 hours on Bluetooth and 50 hours with the dongle, but if you use that up 15 minutes of charging will get you 6 hours of use. I must admit I do not game for 8 hours a day to fully test out if the battery lasts that long, but I will say that I used them for about 4 hours straight on Modern Warfare after a full charge and I still had about 60% battery life left. Hidden Microphone: The Arctis Nova 5P feature a retractable, bidirectional noise cancelling microphone that also clear communication between you and your friends or clean audio calls. Overall, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P Wireless Headset is a outstanding selection for PS5 or PC gamers. They deliver superior audio quality, exceptional comfort, versatile connectivity options, and a long-lasting battery all packaged in a sleek design. All in all they are great heaphones and if you are in the market, I would highly recommend that you check them out.

    – BUILD – The headset is constructed mainly of plastic, keeping it very lightweight . I do question its durability during a drop, but the added elastic inner headband gives me confidence that it will remain in place while I use it. The foam ear cups are covered in soft cloth and feel comfortable over my ears. The ear cups themselves freely tilt and rotate to get that perfect fit around your head. – CONTROLS – The headset is fairly basic in its usage and I much prefer this over other headphones that have too much going on. For starters, an on/off button that serves as a track next/previous, phone pick up/hang up button which is a design practice used on many other headsets and headphones. My favorite is the volume wheel, which I also much prefer over volume up and down buttons. There is a dedicated button to allow one to switch between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless (via the USB receiver). Finally, a very large toggle button for mute is co-located on the same side as the retractable boom mic. All buttons are easily within thumb’s reach. – CONNECTIVITY – The headset allows simultaneous connectivity to a 2.4GHz receiver connected to either a PC or gaming device that supports wireless headsets over USB (PS5, XBOX, Switch, etc) and Bluetooth. This doesn’t mean you’ll receive both signals simultaneously; you’ll be able to switch between either or as long as they’re actively connected. The biggest use case here is switching between your Phone via Bluetooth and a gaming device via 2.4GHz. – PERFORMANCE – The Artics 5 Nova Wireless performs very, very well. And it’s not just the hardware that makes this thing powerful; Steel Series created the Artics Nova 5 Companion mobile app that allows you to directly change settings very easily. With over 100 audio EQ presets, you’ll be able to find a perfect setting for the game you’re playing even if the game you’re playing is not listed as an audio preset. For instance, I’ve been playing a bit of Ready or Not on PC but I could not find a named preset after the game name; I decided to find something close like Rainbow 6 Siege and was very happy with the preset. But before landing on that preset, I was able to trial various presets in real-time via the Companion app while the game was active on my PC. Back to hardware, the headset is equipped with 40mm Neodymium Drivers that support 360 spatial audio. The retractable mic performs very well as I was able to easily communicate with friends playing while playing games as well as take work calls. The mic is particularly cool because it emits a red light to tell you when you’re muted. Man, I can’t count how many times I thought I was muted during a work call…..anyway, you can change the brightness of this light or turn it off completely in the Companion app if you don’t care for it. – BATTERY – Battery life is advertised as either 60 hours over Bluetooth or 2.4GHz over 50 hours over 2.4GHz, so really your mileage may vary if you use one or the other….or both. But expect quite a while of playtime before having to recharge. Run out of battery? Charge it for 15 minutes and get about 6 hours of play. Of course, you can keep the charger attached to your headset if you need to charge and play at the same time. – CONS – For those that are meticulous with their headset EQs, you won’t be able to change these settings in the Companion App, with the exception of PC users who are able to use the GG Sonar application to create personal profiles. For PC, it’s a natural thing to change settings using GG, but for non-PC…I guess you could connect to the Artics using Bluetooth on your PC and set personal profiles for your gaming devices that way. Anyway, it’s not standard on the Companion app. I think it bothers me a bit because I’d love to do EQ settings for music.

    Exceptional gaming headphones

For the past three years, I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect gaming headphones to accompany my Call of Duty: Mobile adventures. I’ve used just about every type of headphones and tried out different connection methods and until I used the Arctis Nova 5P gaming headset, I just didn’t find what I was looking for. Part of what’s tricky for me is that I’m hard of hearing and even premium headsets sometimes aren’t clear enough for me. But the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5P are. COMFORT I’ve used these headphones for a little over a week now. I’ve had some incredibly long gaming sessions with the average probably being around 5-6 hours at a time. They have remained comfortable to me during even the longest sessions. I sometimes end up with a lot of heat around my ears, but these ear cups have a steady temperature that hasn’t ever seemed to hot to me. They are soft and cover my ears comfortably. The headband is flexible, but sturdy and I rate these among the most comfortable headphones I’ve ever used. CONNECTIVITY These headphones connect via Bluetooth or through a 2.4Ghz USB-C receiver. I’ve used both. In the past this has been problematic because the Bluetooth connection sometimes doesn’t give users the highest sound quality. In this case, I noticed that the sound quality was equally good using Bluetooth as it was using the receiver. Plus I was able to use the mobile app for the equalizer. SOUND QUALITY I’ve used SteelSeries gaming headsets before and I’ve always been impressed with them, but the Nova 5P actually surpass any other headsets I’ve used. One of the things that’s really important to me is clarity. My hearing impairment (high-end hearing loss) makes it difficult for me to understand certain sounds sometimes — especially if there are a lot of sounds happening all at once. This is why premium sound quality is essential for me to have in order to enjoy gameplay. I use Discord while I’m playing to be able to communicate with my teammates and other headphones (some very high-end quality) will lower the game volume while keeping the Discord chat high. The Nova 5P headset kept everything mixed really well so I wasn’t missing anything. In fact, the sound quality made it possible for me to hear incoming opponents more clearly than other headphones did. BATTERY LIFE As I mentioned I’ve used these headphones for long periods of time. I charge them up every night when I’m done playing, but I’ve not had an issue with them dying on me in the middle of a session. I do love the fact that they have a fast-charge option (6 hours of use in 15 minutes). The only thing that might make the battery life better is if the Nova 5P came with a spare battery that you swap out. CONCLUSION The SteelSeries Nova 5P is a great headset for gaming. I’ve also used it just for playing music and it’s been quite enjoyable for that purpose, too. The headset offers great sound quality and is comfortable to use even for longer periods of time. It’s a great choice — especially if you want to use it for multiple platforms.

first town fully owning a steelseries headset people say they are comfortable and the audio and mic is great currently have the Arctis Nova 5P wireless and here some of my thoughts about this awesome product Design. first impressions the headset is smaller than my Astro A4. the Steelseries Arctis Nova 5p plastic feels fair cheap but the build quality still feels great even tho it’s a fairly lite headset. you can expand the headset by pulling in and out to extend its length. a nice design band that has adjust point. I kept mine on stock setting with the bands the ear cuffs are removable meaning In the future you should be able to update this, there also a 3rd party company that offer different ear cuff so maybe in the future i’ll grab a different from for this headset. retractable mic on left side with volume and mic mute button right side of ear you get the power and sync button and the charge port. Features the headset support quick switch wireless, you have the 2.4Ghz and bluetooth. you’ll be able to use it for your phone and switch back on gaming. battery life says 60hr but I didn’t get the chance to fully draine the battery after playing a lot of hours of Halo Infinite. deff still no issue with short battery hours. you can download the Article Nova app on your phone so you can adjust this on the fly. you do have to create an account but the app on both are well done. it’s clean easy to follow probably one of the best gaming app I currently have for audio. this version can be use for PS, Switch and PC Experience I gotta say I love this headset. it was perfect wireless headset to have while I was racing on my Sim Rig. playing Asseto Corsa, and wow this headset is very comfortable I love the ear cuffs it didn’t feel like I have to re adjust the headset for comfort during long hours of gaming. very very comfortable headset and i’m very much enjoying it. the sound is also too notch i’ve also combined this headset with Atmos. but when you download the app you also have the ability to adjust your preset that’s built in that Steelseries offer. what an amazing features. the microphone was also very clear for the price this has to be the best sounding microphone for its price. Conclusion again overall experience is more than what I was expecting the features it all offer is hands down the best I have experience in gaming headset. price vs feature this hands down I fully recommend. I love how Steelseries offer audio presets on so much games the have popular games you can just select if you don’t want to create your own preset it’s so easy. I love how lite the headset and doesn’t feel tight around your ear. stellar sound quality. wish it has a bit more weight but overall I think this headset is a perfect gift to anyone looking to not spend over $200 for a headset this is all you need.

This isn't the first Steelseries headset I've had over the past few years. This new Nova 5P (the letter after the number shows what system it is meant to be used with, P for PlayStation and X for Xbox) is a step up from previous models. Note that I have tested this headset with a PS4, a PC and a Nintendo Switch, but it also works great with mobile solutions (tablet, phone, etc.). The unboxing was fairly satisfying. The box contains the headset, a charging cable, a USB Type C dongle and a cable to connect it to whatever machine you'll be using it with. On PC, you can simply plug it into a free Type C connector and turn the headset on. That's it. Plug and play at its best. The Switch was a bit more stubborn, but I managed to connect after removing the previous headset. The box contains goodies as well such as stickers and a nice little guide. Even though it probably contains a rather big battery to offer 60 hours of gameplay until the next charge, it surprisingly light and very comfortable to wear. It also seems to be quite sturdy and the materials used are of excellent quality. This includes the ear pads which feel nice when the headset is worn, even for longer play sessions. The sound is clear and clean, with good treble, decent mids and some pretty deep and round bass. The microphone extends and retracts into the headset, the quality of the microphone isn't great, but more than good enough for gaming. The Nova 5P sports only a couple of buttons which is - in my opinion - a good thing, as you won't have to think too hard which button to push to get the result you want. This gaming headset can take advantage of Steelseries' very own GG companion app, which works great on PC (I own a game DAC from the same brand and it uses the same app). Games I used this headset with include Call of Duty MW3, Forza Horizon, Lethal League and others. I have had no issues with any of the games and the built-in tools helped a lot to determine location of footsteps and gunshots. The bottom line is this: Steelseries has created a great sounding, easy to use and sturdy but comfortable gaming headset, which can hold its charge for a long, long time and renders even the slightest of sound. Music doesn't sound terrible either, which makes the Nova 5P an excellent, all-purpose headset at an affordable price. Recommended? Yup!

    Decent Sound, Versatile

Gaming headsets are a dime a dozen nowadays, with plenty of solid options. I find the SteelSeries brand to be some of the better headsets due to the audio quality, versatility and ease of use. The Arctis Nova 5, to me, is the midrange version of SteelSeries’ headsets and the sound quality - while fine - is lacking when compared to higher end sets (looking at the Arctis Nova Pro). But its versatility and ease of use makes it a good option. I have every main console, but primarily game on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. So my experience is centered around my use of this headset on those two consoles. IN THE BOX AND SET UP You’ll find the headset, a USB-C dongle, USB-A to USB-C cable and a USB-C extension cable. You’ll be directed to download an app (Arctis Nova 5). I’m a bit loathe to download another app, but this is where you’ll adjust the EQ settings. But I was easily able to pair the headset to my phone, download the app, and adjust the EQ settings and sidetone volume. SOFTWARE First the app. I’m not one to fine tune my EQ settings, I just either am too lazy or don’t know enough. So I don’t typically adjust those settings. But this app eliminates that type of fluff. And there’s no light settings to adjust like you might find in other headsets. Basically, it’s pretty straightforward. The EQ settings are based on games or general settings like “Bass Boost.” I didn’t scroll through all the settings, nor did I test them all, but there’s a setting for most big name games (Call of Duty, Baldur’s Gate, FC 2024, etc.). But what I like most is the ability to adjust sidetone - which gives you the ability to hear yourself talking. But other than adjusting that volume or changing the EQ settings per a particular game (which seems like an extra step I probably won’t take when I change games) there’s not much to the app; which I’m fine with. COMFORT AND DESIGN I have a big head and find the Nova 5P to be a little small. That’s not to say it doesn’t fit, it just feels and looks compact. It’s made of light plastic (I don’t see any metal here) and the ear cups are a memory foam. There’s an elastic band underneath the plastic headband. The ear cups are a bit small for my ears, meaning my entire ear lobe doesn’t fit inside, but I still found them comfortable for a several hour long game session presumably because of the comfort of the memory foam ear cups. The microphone is hidden and is easily pulled out when you need it.. When using the microphone, I found you have to have it right in front of your mouth. At first it felt unnatural, at least leaving me thinking my friends would hearing my every noise (and breath). But they reported to me that I sounded good. The buttons are few and simple to use, which is always a plus. There’s the power button, a button above it that switches from radio mode with the dongle and Bluetooth. When you hit the switch button there’s dialogue that tells you which mode you’re in. On the left ear cup you’ll find the volume and mute button for the microphone. The biggest design flaw is the shape of the USB-C dongle, at least when it’s plugged into your PS5. When plugged into the PS5 it blocks the other USB port. Most of the time this shouldn’t be an issue, but it does seem like an oversight. Another downside is that you can’t use these with your PSVR2 headset as it uses the systems’ only USB-C port. SOUND PERFORMANCE I connected these headphones to my phone (to adjust the EQ settings), and used it on my PS5 and Switch using the dongle. Again, switching between Bluetooth and dongle is easy with a tap of the button. I like the flexibility of being able to use this for multiple devices - it’s literally plug and play with the USB-C dongle - but I was bit underwhelmed with the sound performance. It just sounds hollow. The bass isn’t very deep, for music or gaming, and it just doesn’t sound as full as other headsets I’ve used. Having said that, when gaming on the PS5 I found it to be more than adequate. I can hear my friends well, and I can hear myself with sidetone which is a big deal to me (I hate not being able to hear myself talk on a headset), and I didn’t feel at any online competitive disadvantage. I wouldn’t recommend it for listening to music, not that you necessarily would, as most of us carry earbuds or other high end headphones for music listening. Again, the sound quality was adequate, but I wish it had more bass and richer audio. BATTERY It’s rated for 60 hours which is darn impressive. I am one to charge my headphones on a regular basis so they don’t die during a session, but these easily go a week worth of playing a few hours without problem. And they have fast charging which is a big plus for those times you forget to charge it. I wish I could say whether there’s a battery low chime, but I haven’t gotten to that point just yet. CONCLUSION All-in-all, this is a decent headset that is comfortable to wear for long periods of time, can juggle multiple devices. I just wish for the price the sound quality was a bit better, but then again, for most of us the sound quality is more than adequate (I put myself in that category, but I also own the Steelseries Arctis Nova Prime which even to me is way better in the sound quality department).

SteelSeries hit the price to performance ratio pretty spot on with the Nova 5P. Excellent sound quality and still being really comfortable after hours of gaming sessions make this a clear choice. In the box is the headset, dongle, USB C to A adapter, USB C cable and some paperwork. I used my headset for my PS5 and setup was super easy. Just plugged in the dongle on the front of the PS5 and I was already up and running. I also went into the setting of the PS5 and changed all outputs to the headset instead of both that and the surround sound speakers to quit annoying my roommate. Sound quality is great. Played Diablo IV with my crew and had no issues hearing them loud and clear even with in-game audio playing through the headset and they heard my every word just fine. I love how the mic is retractable and goes into the left ear when you need it out of the way and the mute button is right there as well. Comfort is 2nd to none. Even after 3 days of 8 hours of play on various games, the soft inner band kept the out plastic band from pressing against my head. It is adjustable and detachable so you can remove it to wash it at a later time. Battery life is excellent. They claim 60 hours on a single charge and so far it is holding true. I have a little over 30 hours on it and it needs no charging yet. Even if it did, you can plug it in for 15 minutes and that buys a few hours for you. As I said, comfort and performance sold me instantly on the SteelSeries. I still am using them out of habit even when streaming YouTube or Crunchyroll off my PS5.

While the gaming headset space can appear to be crowded, of the many names SteelSeries is actually respected. I've had my experiences with SteelSeries, and they've always been satisfactory. While not perfect, the Arctis Nova 5P is another solid edition to the SteelSeries family. Let me start by saying I love that these headphones come with a USB C adapter. The PS5 does not have enough ports, and oftentimes a new accessory means balancing out the accessories you have, moving things around, or having to remove something from the equation. While I purchased a USB C adapter previously due to this issue, SteelSeries including one in the packaging makes things a lot easier for those who weren't prepared. Build quality is...good. These aren't high-end, studio headphones. Still, the cushions on the ears feel nice and soft. The band stretches easily to put the headset on your head without any feeling of potentially cracking. I'm not a fan of the logo on the outside, but it's not like you're going to notice this while gaming. What you will notice is overall, the headset feels pretty comfortable during decent sized gaming sessions. Setup is super easy. Connect the dongle and you're ready to go. Sound quality is...good. The Nova 5ps don't necessarily get loud, but they get loud enough. The sound is solid enough for me to hear footsteps and detect their direction. The mic audio quality is solid as well, I received no complaints, although I will say pulling the mic out, or putting it up isn't as smooth as I'd like it. The bendable cord that holds the mic means that pulling the mic out and pushing it back in isn't just pulling or pushing, especially putting it back in. Overall, the SteelSeries - Arctis Nova 5p is a solid gaming headset. Decent sound quality, decent build quality, comfortable feel with long battery life. I'd highly recommend these to anyone interest in a solid wireless headphone gaming experience.

First off everything electronic wise I have is usb-c connections, so these headphones are compatible with all of my cords which is a plus. It claims 38 hour battery life but in the type to charge my headphones after use so I have yet to test that. And since it has a fast charge, it takes no time. All good things from these headphones. These headphones are comfortable but different. The top head strap makes the headphones feel like they are hovering and not a super tight fit. That part does taking get use to. I also appreciate the point of Bluetooth can be turned on/off independently using a secondary power button on the earcup and does not need the dongle to connect. So it’s multi use makes these headphones a little different than others. One of the absolute coolest feature is definitely the mic that pulls out and retracts inside the headphones. Last but not least the headphones sound great for this brand. Everything is crisp and realistic. I wish it came with a bag for travel or storage but other than that these are nice.

This SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5p Wireless Headset with microphone is a very versatile headset with a very high performance quality sound. It works with PC, PlayStation, Mobile, and Switch. This multi platform headset is at the top of its game, being one of the best headsets on the market today. What’s in the box?: In the box comes the headset, USB-C multi platform dongle, USB-A to USB-C 5 ft cable, USB-C to USB-A 5 ft cable, really cool stickers, and a setup guide/instructions Software: Software is downloadable for each platform. The software is your way to customize the way you use your headset and customize it for games. Also, using this software, you can add games to the list and get the ultimate audio experience of your life. This setup is really awesome. In a game room where there are sounds coming from all around? No worries, that is exactly what you will hear. Setup: Setup is very easy, and took me no more than a minute for each platform, as I use it on several platforms. Audio quality. The audio quality is superior. Crisp highs and deep low bass, along with static free chatting in game and when in a phone call. When watching movie or video, the audio is fantastic. Makes you feel like you are in the movie itself. Microphone quality: The microphone quality is professional sounding. There is little to no background noise reported from the people on the other end of the line. They all said they can hear me very well, with no problem at all. This is in game and on the phone. Special features: Quick switch 2.4GHZ + Bluetooth is there for your convenience, and boy is it a huge deal. I love this feature. While playing a game on my PC, I get a phone call on my smartphone. It’s a simple push of a button to switch over and answer the call. How cool is that? Very! No more having to stop what I’m doing and pick up and phone or switch headsets to talk. Battery life: Superb battery life. It says you can get up to 60 hours of battery life. I actually got a little more than that. I had 61.75 hours, before I had to recharge.

I decided to try out Arctis Nova 5 as I have a previous version of the SteelSeries headset and wanted to upgrade. Overall, I was impressed with how much this package includes however not impressed with the cable length. It’s very nicely packed and the unboxing was very easy to get all the items out. It came with a very low charge so recommend charging the headset before performing any setup. The setup was very easy, plug in play however recommend downloading / installing the SteelSeries software. With the software you are able to update the firmware and take advantage of the equalizer settings. The software is very impressive with a ton of features for setting up the gaming headset. It can become a little overwhelming for those who wish to tinker however it’s not necessary as the defaults are just fine. The software is pretty invasive on windows so be sure to check all the background running, startup and privacy settings. The sound and mic quality is very good and sharp. The sounds are crisps and loud, very easily distinguished without having to turn up the volume much. The mic is just as sharp as it can pick up your voice even when the mic is very far away. I like how the mic is adjustable and able to move it around for best pickup. I also like how the mic goes into the headset, lessoning the chances of the mic becoming damaged. Headset comfort unfortunately was not very comfortable at all. Perhaps this headset is made for smaller ears / head. I always find myself adjusting this headset to rest properly on my ears. After a while the headset become heavy and hurts my ears to the point, I have to stop using it. It causes pressure on my ears due to not being able to cover them completely. The extra band on the headset seems to be more for decoration than to make the headset lighter. I honestly did not see any difference when adjusting that headset band. Overall, this headset is nice for those with small ear lobes. The sound and mic quality along with the software features are very impressive. I am unable to speak toward the battery life as I am unable to use it for long periods of time without my ears starting to hurt.
