Not worth it for the price.

Pro performance!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My friend has been telling me that he swears by SteelSeries. I have almost exclusively been using another brand and would counter my friend that they were the truth and that there was no way another brand could compare. The reality is that I just had not had the privilege to experience them myself, until these. After just a few short days of use, I was elated with them and must give it to my friend for knowing what he was talking about. I chose these to try out with my PC. I played an immersive action game that is amplified by the quality of the player’s headphones. The game plays on the fact the main character is going through psychosis while on her quest. The SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wired Gaming headset will have you questioning reality after just a few short levels. The game is a great litmus test for the quality of any headset and the Arctis Nova Pro's passed with excellence. They worked equally well on my PS4 console. Upon receiving it, I had gone to the website looking for a firmware update and came up short or saw something shiny and forgot what I was doing. I then read the instructions because the lesson learned was to read the instructions. After downloading the SteelSeries app, the device has beat any pair of headphones I have ever had as well as superseded and any expectations I had from a sound quality stance. The synthesized Sonar presets are the best I have ever personally used. I feel like anytime I have ever used higher end phones, I always scour the internet for the best equalizer. Not the case here, I choose the game I want to play, and I am done. Next, the microphone has access to a ton of features that the competition just does not offer. Also, a problem spot for me. I am always too quiet or too loud with the background noise in my environment. I would use the SteelSeries’ just because of the app even if they were not that great but I get to have my cake and eat it too. The headphones are built exceptionally light and remain genuinely comfortable even after hours of wear. The microphone will sit flush with the left ear cone, or it is extendable. The memory foam style ear pads offer tension free wear. They do not breathe very well so I recommend a couple of readjustments here and there during extensive sessions. One of the cooler features that the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro’s offer is the Nova booster pack. This pack is available for purchase, and it allows you to personalize the color of the inner head band and the color exterior of the ear cones. I thought I would dislike being wired in, since I have been using wireless for so many years. This was not the case though; I do notice it from time to time but not a deal breaker by any means. The equalizer station is a questionable choice if you are not sitting directly near your source. This would be my only negative since it is heavy, and the cable is not that long. All in, due to the price I recommend for those looking to step into a place where you can drown in the sound but are willing to pay the higher end price to do so. The games I play sound supreme, and my music keeps me on a whole vibe. 10/10

The summit of wired headset perfection!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing gaming headset. The Arctis Nova Pro is the complete package. I received this headset and was blown away by the great packaging, and the box including everything I needed not only to connect the headset to my Switch, Playstation or gaming PC, but the wiring to enable me to connect to TWO of them at the same time! The kit is relatively simple to hook up, consisting of a USB-powered DAC base with volume and settings control, and a light and EXTREMELY comfortable headset. The headset is constructed of all premium materials, such as sturdy vinyl, leather/leather-like surfaces, and real metal. Decorative elements such as the cover plates on each earcup are magnetically attached and there are several removable elements for cleaning/replacement, such as the earpads. The sound performance was excellent, and I enjoyed the quick switch of EQ settings and the ability to switch inputs from the dial. This was cool when I was using the headset for music on my PC and wanted to switch to my Switch in its dock for immersive play without complicated controls. My only gripes are with modern PC setups, I would have appreciated at least ONE of the included USB cables to be Type-C to Type-C instead of having to use an adapter when plugging the DAC direclty into my Type-C-only laptop. In the end - Simplicity, ultimate sound quality, ultimate build quality. This is the headset to buy if you're looking for a premium wired solution for a desktop setup.
