Harvest moon was my absolute favorite game growing up across multiple gaming devices. I remember playing harvest moon back to nature cute on the ds and that is a remake of an old ps1 game. I bought and played this game in hopes to bring back the same nostalgia while being able to have some fun. While the nostalgia is there and the graphics are extremely cute there are a few things I dislike. 1. I can hardly see my character with the angles set by the camera, I feel I'm forever looking at the top of the head and they're looking down. Everyone is walking with their heads down! With all the capabilities of the switch, why can't we look and twirl the camera around in town? The best way to fully see the character design is when I'm changing the outfits during which I can twirl the character around. 2. The character running from place to place feels incredibly slow for some reason. Either the graphics makes you feel like it takes forever or it is taking forever, I havent decided yet because I only have played about 3 hours of the game. Because of this, the game feels clunky. 3. The map feels extremely limited and small for some reason in map view, perhaps because most shops are on the top row and the town is not distributed evenly. It felt much "bigger" in other harvest moon towns. Also why is the forest in the middle of town? But I know this is a remake so I get why the map is the way it is.

HM/SOS games are the best and this current iteration of a classic GBA game is amazing and I love it. Highly recommend it.

These games are the true successors of Harvest Moon. My girlfriend loves them, so that is a 5-star in my book.
