Not the best street fighter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Game is ok, you better have online access or can't play most of the game. I wish it had a better story mode, more characters, more offline stuff. Make a street fighter like the old SNES turbo edition, just with new stuff, character, online mode (just don't overdo online like this game has). Game controls are good, fairly easy to pull off combos, Offline you can't even play against the computer in the classic 2/3 round matches until you got to M.Bison, which is kind of what street fighter revolved around. Hopefully the DLCs will have other options of game play for offline modes. The game is definitely not worth 60 bucks, unless the new characters are included (which I highly doubt). On the plus side the graphics are great, almost has that anime cartoon feel to the game. Online mode is good to match up with other players around the world, and it is compatible with PS4 and PC. Street fighter fans that have played the game from the original will enjoy some aspects, but will miss what other street fighter games had to offer.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been the worst street fighter game ever. Too many bad things to say about it just stay away. Look on YouTube for reviews I wish I did before I bought it.

Good game but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is practically a beta. They rip you off with season passes, micro transactions, and expensive packages. I am not happy at all with this purchase.

Horrible Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could give this a lower review I would. This game has zero fun factor. It is so easy to beat that unless you play online it is not worth it.

NOT READY YET
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game has the right ingredients, but it's just not done yet. This game should have came out maybe a year later, but instead we're force to criticize it a year in advance. The story mode should have been the last the thing they worked on. The first thing in fighting games should be the characters. And many of them. People like to identify with characters - whether old or new. Most people understand the story arc of SF anyway, and newer players would get more of an idea in arcade mode... There isn't any arcade mode. Having arcade mode is proper protocol for any fighting game. So even if the game came out unfinished, there's no reason why arcade wasn't including the "bare-bones package". To save this game, there needs to be more characters because the SF universe is currently missing some personality due to the missing characters who add and shape the SF world ( ex. Fei Long, Sagat, Blanka, Sakura, Dan, etc). A lot of developers are trying to mimic other games because of the success of their rival. Capcom needs to stick to their niche and try not to lose their essence. As a Street Fighter fan, I found the MKX story mode to be too gimmicky and very...dumb actually. MK (to me) use to tell a better story in the past by not "trying" to tell the whole story. And in SFV, Capcom attempted to do the same thing, which actually turned out better than MK, in my opinion, but I don't think it should have been their focus. Honestly, it seems like the empire of Capcom is slowly crumbling and therefore, even Street Fighter is suffering for it. Something has changed in Capcom (whether new hires or what not) and I hope they e-focus and get back to who they used to be. And another thing... I don't understand how they are having trouble making some of the characters to their previous likeness. I'm giving this game 4 stars because I'm living in the hope of its future.

I feel like back in the 90s - Screaming at my TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I am casual gamer when it comes to fighting games, but I have tried all the previous street fighter and owned SF4, last generation. My experience is the same. There is something about SF that you won't find in games like MK ( I love MK btw, but it is just different). I feel like SF always gives you this arcade feeling and it is always competitive. So, if you are buying this game to play solo, it might be a little boring compare to SF4, but if you are buying it to play online and with friends, this game probably has the best mechanics in a fighting game. It is pretty competitive, but never unfair, as I said I am not a pro but I try hard and I win a battle or two (out of 5). You won't be able to win with cheap moves or smashing your buttons (maybe once in a while). It feels pretty rewarding when you lose against someone that know what he/she is doing, and even better when you win. Ultimately, I will give a 1 - 2 stars to capcom for not delivering a complete game from day one ( most of the server issues are gone, but still, it is not acceptable). However, I am giving this game a 5 stars because it is an excellent fighting game, once you take everything out, ( server, solo options) and get down to the basics in a one on one battle, against a real person......... like back in the arcades of the 90s.

Very disappointed in this game.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I pre-ordered street fighter V and was totally disappointed. Sure the graphic are great and game play is very nice. but this game is incomplete. no arcade mode, no story mode and the original characters are not all their. No guile, no Honda, No blanka, no Akuma, no Sagat, no Balrog, no T. Hawk. this game was over priced for what the content the game came with. And to get some of these characters you will have to pay 29.95 extra on top of the 59.95 what a rip off.

Excellent competitive fighting challenge.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are fewer characters for a reason. Fine tuning for tournament level play. This is a serious Street Fighter game not some SVC style SF game. There are some new adjustments compared to SF4 that will take some getting used to especially the new medium punch and kick together moves.

Street Fighter V - Good, But Lacking Content
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What we have here is the Star Wars Battlefront problem. The core game is a good one, and it's polished to boot both gameplay wise and visually when lag isn't present. What it doesn't have is enough content. Not. Even. Close. While naturally more content will be added via DLC, paid and free, I will say the same thing I said with Stars Wars Battlefront: if you're a Street Fighter lover, you probably already bought this game. If you're not, you'll want to stay away until it's significantly cheaper. With games like Mortal Kombat X and Killer Instinct providing far better value-per-dollar, I can't recommend Street Fighter V at full price.

Disappointing and unfinished
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a big street fighter game fan and when I saw that Street Fighter 5 was coming out, I had to have it. Well I should have never bought it. The game has, lets call it a lack of a story. You can still do the 1 on 1 or 1 vs CPU style fighting, but I also like a story behind a game. They should have just not even had bothered with a story mode, because the game really doesn't have any. Even killer instinct on xbox one actually has a better story mode, and the game itself is cheaper. The graphics are good, but that basically the only good thing about it. My suggestion is, dont bother buying it. Wait until it drops in price, because at the 59.99 price point. Its not worth it.

Rough start, but picking up steam
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So the Street Fighter series has returned and is simply gorgeous to behold. They've pulled back from where they were and have moved forward with the setting even. The game launched with a bit of a rough start (servers, lacking content etc), but they've since been adding in things with the patches and getting the game back on its feet with more features and the first DLC character Alex. I'd say now is the time to pick up the game and jump back into one of the best fighting game franchises in history.
