Good mechanics, poor conte
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bare skeleton of a game. Should not have been 60 dollars. You give the public half a game, it should be half the price.

In need of a fighting game?
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't played fighting games in a long time. This was a great way to get back into. This title shows that Capcom is trying to go back to their roots and capture what made Street Fighter such a well known and respected game. This is definitely a step up from what they've been releasing in the past few years. If you're a fan of competitive fighting games then this is a great choice.

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was really expecting this game to bring a lot more then it offered. Classic characters removed! Really bummed!

A decent game with several detractors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Now, I haven't played a huge amount of Street Fighter in my life. When it comes to fighting games, I tend to go for more casual stuff. Street Fighter is not like that, and it's very much mechanically focused on combinations and strategy to combat all types of characters. Now what I'm fond of particularly in fighting games is character design. So of course, I'd be looking for good characters! Which leads to a disappointment. About half of the cast is locked behind paid DLC. Many stages are as well, as are costumes. Now, luckily, all can be purchased with in game currency that you don't have to pay money to get. However, this takes a very long time. My biggest disappointment is that most of the really good costumes are "premium costumes", meaning you can't use in game currency and have to purchase them individually or buy the season pass. Buying a season pass negates any money you saved over buying the arcade edition, so if you intend to get all the items don't waste your time on the base game and buy the version that comes packaged with the season pass. All in all, sound game with all the modern horrors of paid DLC. At least Smash Bros. doesn't lock half the game behind paywalls.

Fun, but missing features
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you want to fight online or in-person, this game will be great for you. It's a fantastic training mode and a wide variety of characters to learn. If you want to play alone in arcade mode...there is no arcade mode. Capcom is focusing almost exclusively on competitive fighting in this release. More single player features are coming, the depth of those features is unknown.

Disappointing story mode
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The story mode takes less than 10 minutes to complete. Multiplayer mode is currently buggy and Capcom is aware of the issues and has said they will fix the problems with a future patch. This game was rushed to released and was incomplete at launch.

Wait for the full release if...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A must buy for fighting game lovers. The game introduces many new mechanics such as Vskills, crush counters and Vtriggers in a more Street Fighter II paced matches unlike Street Fighter IV. However, the game lacks many features one would expect from a modern fighting game such as arcade mode and challenge mode. Additionally, many of the features are not completed, the shop menu is directly on the front page of the game but it was not available at launch. Story mode consists of 2-4 fights per characters that lasts at most 10 minutes for each character. The tutorial introduces the new mechanics of the game but fails to explain in details for new players to grasp why it is important. Many of the features have been fixed as of this review but numerous problems still remains. My suggestion is, if you love fighting games for playing with friends and beating them on a Friday night, this is the game for you. If you are looking for anything more than that, wait until all the contents are released for a better and “full” experience.

Best Fighting Game for PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had been waiting a while for this to come out. The game is a joy to look at and the controls feel really good. Pretty much, it feels like Street Fighter, which is always awesome.

Fantastic but wait to buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the game is fantastic - the game will be updating for the next few years since they will not release turbo versions and such so not worth it

A great take on a classic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm glad Street Fighter series is finally on PS4. The online game play is the best feature by far. I do wish there were more characters though.

Bank on the future of this game...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At its core, the game play, mechanics, and visual fidelity are all here. Those new to the series, or those that only play casually will be disappointed with the game's lack of content, but Capcom will be adding new features FOR FREE in a few months - more were already added in March. Buy this game if you like the series - it will only get better from here.
