I bought this since there weren't many other games that came out when the switch first came out. My kids didn't seem to care for this game as much. If you remember playing this game when you were younger than this is a big upgrade but my kids never played the old game before. Overall reason I gave the game only 4 out of 5 stars is the price I do think $50 is too much for this game.

This is a fun game with colorful graphics. The developer has definitely improved the game since launch, adding a number of features that were not originally present. Overall, this game is highly recommended!

Bomberman is a very fun game to play and pick up for the Nintendo Switch! The only issue I have with the game is the online because of the fact that it does lag even with great connection with the internet.

I have invited 3 of my friends to my house to play this game. We played the 4 players mode which we laughed so hard continuously. This game reminded me the fun time I had with my friend with my Super Nintendo when I was a kid, it's totally different than playing FPS game with the online mode these days. Single player mode isn't bad, but it's hard. Online mode is kinda laggy.

This game is awesome! It has all of the classic Bomberman that I remember. The 3d models for Bomberman could look a lot nice in my opinion, but the controls and gameplay itself are completely on point. My girlfriend and I have played muliplayer together, and while we got caught thinking we were the each others character once or twice, we definitely have a great time playing.

Great as a multiplayer game. It’s overpriced for what’s included.

This is a bomberman game for sure, but it just isn't all that fun. Stays true to classic mechanics, but is overly corny in story, and jumps from easy basic levels to insanely difficult boss levels right off the bat. If you love bomberman this game could be ok, but is just not worth the steep price.

I did not know... I've only played the Bomberman series on SNES. After a tiny bit of research, this is more like the original versions that I'm used to. If you've never played this game, the learning curve is small. I would describe the game as an action-packed, multiplayer, maze-fighting game. You can play up to 8 players, playing in teams or independently. Like Mario Kart, battle-mode is most fun in a party setting. The main purpose of the play is to get to other players before they get you, using bombs to clear the board. Avoid getting blown up and gather abilities as you go. Watch some videos on YouTube and you'll get an idea what it's about.

Honestly a good game. Nothing major here if you’re familiar with Bomberman. It was a nice surprise for an early switch game. This game would be good for someone who wants to get into the series or old fans who have not played a Bomberman game in years.

The return of Bomberman was a welcomed sight as a launch title to the Switch. During the launch weekend, we played 4 player local co-op for at least 5 hours and had a lot of fun with it. We mostly played the original map as the special maps had different elevations or certain gimmicks that my gamer friends didn't like. Still, no one got tired of playing it. Later on, I tried the single player campaign. The characters in the cut scenes can be pretty annoying so I skip most of the dialogue (but if you like cartoonish humor you may enjoy it). The campaign has about 5 worlds with 50 levels total. Each world gives you a set of lives and 10 levels, and you must progress through each level with your lives to make it to an end boss. If you lose your lives, you may spend your coins to continue. Coins also unlock other maps, costumes, etc. so choose wisely. Overall I'm happy with the purchase for the multiplayer alone, but I'm not so much enjoying grinding through the single player to unlock the additional maps.

At $40, the initial offerings of Super Bomberman R were not worth it. Now, the game as of 4/21/17 has selectable computer player difficulties, more stages, and the ability to swing the camera around in story mode (all things that were greatly missing). Now, I think the $40 price tag ($32 with Gamers Club Unlocked) makes Super Bomberman R more than worth it.

With the lack of couch multiplayer game out there it is a breath of fresh air to have Bomberman R be a solid couch multiplayer game.

This was one of 2 launch titles i was on the fence about. I preordered it so my boys had some options of games to play. After it was all said and done it was what i expected from the game, but it was way overpriced (even with gamers unlocked discount), the story had been complete by my 2 boys within a few sittings (probably 6 to 8 hours total), then they moved on to Zelda, this game should have been a $20 digital download (like Snipperclips, and Fast RMX), but i did also understand that to produce these may be more expensive than the average disc based game. Maybe at some point down the road my boys will pick this back up and enjoy the multiplayer. Not a must buy, but with the limited launch lineup, really not many choices to enjoy with the new system. Take the money you may be considering buying this with and put it toward Snipperclips and Fast RMX, those are very fun to play! I would not recommend this at this price, i would recommend to wait for a sale to pick up this, maybe a bogo deal.

One of the best party games for a group, local multiplayer up to 8 people allows everyone to play. Is it the best Bomberman game, no, but it is still enjoyable especially with friends. Only real complaint is that it's sometimes a bit difficult to properly position your bomberman and you might get blown up by being a fraction off which is very hard to see.

This game didn't receive the best reviews when it first came out but that was largely due to the price and some gameplay issues at launch. Konami has actually done a good job of updating this game and adding free content to it. It's a really great party game and is a lot of fun. It's worth it if you can pick it up for $30 or less.
