I bought it expressly as a "party game" to play with my kids in multiplayer. Only tried the single player for a few minutes. Not to sure about that part, but they are usually fairly solid games.

This reminds me of some of the older incarnations of Bomberman. Though the game touts being able to play with eight, I've yet to experience it. I do advise against playing with more than two players on the small screen of the Switch; this is one game where you'll appreciate the larger screen of a TV to play on.

I love Bomberman going back to the N64 days. This game is good. But I'm going to use this review to talk about how to buy these kinds of games and the problem we have with gamers' mindsets today regarding value. So Bomberman's another Switch title people don't feel is worth the price tag. We, as gamers, really need to get more creative. There's discounts right under our noses. GCU at BB gets you 20% off right from the start (that's on brand new games-cheaper than finding a used copy at gamestop). Combine that with a BB certificate as I did to get the game for $29.99 and you'll be very happy. There's price matching opportunities too. Never pay full price for any game release. When you can get these new titles for much less, you'll have so much more fun as the cost is no longer a determining factor in your gameplay experience. So don't listen to those people on reviews or podcasts just saying the game is overpriced and not giving any real justification for their low scores outside the title's perceived value. Find a way to get it cheaper yourself. Or complain and remain.

Not the best game ever made and certainly pales in comparison to BOTW, but for the cost and what it is it's decent. Overall this game shines best when played with friends or as a party game but as a stand alone for 1 player, it fails to entice and draw the player in for longer than a quick 20 minute session.

Good game but it's not everyone's style. It'd be smart to look up gameplay video before purchasing a game.

Another game in the stack o games / consoles. Fun stuff when get though others. Gift for nephew for Xmas.

This is a fun, family friendly game. Cute story, controls are a little wonky at times, but very fin with friends!

Lots of time spent on the original Super Nintendo playing this game with my family using the 4 player multi-tap. A lot of the same rules/mechanics still govern the overall game, the fun hasn't changed either. I play 4 player battle using the Joy cons with my nephews still awesome as a multi player game!

The game is not too long to beat, maybe about 5 - 6 hours. has a great value with the recent update!

After recreating a classic like Bomberman there was a lot to expect. In this case it turned out to be a little of a let down. With that being said the game is still enjoyable and hilarious with friends. The quirky characters and story are full of energetic moments. There needs to be more battle modes and better online experience but all and all still fun.

This is not your parent's bomberman. It has gotten a little nutty compared to 15 years ago. the game is fine when played single player but I find that the real fun is found in multi player. worth the price I got it for.

I started playing this by myself in the story mode, which was alright. I had fun, but it wasn't anything that stood out as special. The multiplayer is where this game really shines. The 8 player version is so much fun. We had 5 people with 3 computer players and had a blast. Great for parties!

This is a fun little game albeit a little short. However, I recommend to any one who owns a switch.

People hate on this game for the high pricetag but they obviously don't like Bomberman enough to give it a shot. Graphics are great gameplay is better.

when this game shipped, it was definitely not a great game. it was semi-broken. the frame rates were bad. Konami released quite a big patch for the game that fixes everything. this game is awesome as a local multiplayer game. the story mode isn't too great but it's fun and engaging.

Super Bomberman R for Nintendo Switch is definitely a fun game especially with the online multiplayer included. However, for $50, it is a bit overpriced. It also is a game that plays much better when docked and using the Pro controller.

Multiplayer is great and if you played bomberman before you know exactly what you are getting into. 4 guys on a map, and do your best to knock each other into explosions. Unfortunately, the single player doesn't really keep up and can mostly be considered pretty bland in comparison.

You will have fun when you play this game with your friends and family. Characters are cute and games are not that hard so kids would like this.
