When this game first was released, it had performance issues and a feeling that it wouldn't live up to its 49.99 price tag. I bought it expecting to use it for a weekend that a lot of friends were coming over and we'd have our fun with it before I traded it in the following week. Well, this game is now a crowd favorite to all my friends due to the amazing times this game has produced. The games single player mode is alright, nothing to write home about. But like I said, multiplayer makes or breaks this game and here it certainly makes it. An update was released by Konami that upgrades the frame rate to a smooth 60 fps, alleviating some of the performance gripes I had with the game when I first purchased it. The game isn't for everybody. 8 player multiplayer is fantastic, and I can't remember a time where I've ever been able to do that with a video game. Very simple controls make the game easy to teach and understand. Very glad I took a chance on Bomberman R.

I played bomberman on Nintendo 64 years and years ago. The way they redid this game is great

Its a fun game for the switch. I think Nintendo needs to release more titles like this one.

Even with all the first reviews about the game, i wasn't expecting much, but after playing it the first time, i remember the first bomberman games and how much a "blast" you can have (get it? hahaha), anyway, give it a try, you will be surprised, and the latest patches that have been released really make the game quite different (tried the game before patching it just to see how it was... and yes, it does help).

The game is very reminiscent of SNES Super Bomberman, and that's not a bad thing. 8 player support means that it's fun to play at a party, and the single player mode is challenging enough to make you want to play through it. Would be a better value at $40 rather than $50, however.

I wouldn't pay more than $30 for this, but it is really fun and the multiplayer adds value

I gave it 5 stars becuase or the good Black Friday deal I got and it is a fun game. DLC has been added for free still even though it has been out since the Nintendo Switch launch.. If I paid full price I’d have given it 4 stars

Was never really much of a big fan of Bomberman but I guess it’s good for what it’s worth.

This is a fun game for Nintendo Switch and is a great addition to the Bomberman series.

Good game for this new system. Game play is fun and fast paced. The Nintendo switch has an old school utilitarian look to it and Super Bomberman fits like a glove. The graphics and sounds remind me of the original nes games only much better resolution and complexity of sound.

Growing up, Super Bomberman for SNES was one of my favorite games to play multi-player. This game is just as awesome as I remember the SNES version to be. Cons: I did find it difficult to move the bomberman around corners with the JoyCons, however, using the d-pad helped.

I bought this for my son to experience what I experience in my younger days and it didn't disappoint! With the new updates that came out, it came with new characters and 3 vs 3 mode. It's a must buy for any Switch owner!

Back in the old days of the SNES, N64 and Dreamcast, Bomberman was one of the most popular video game franchises in the world. It spawned manga, cartoons and game after game. That all hit the skids when a version was released on the Xbox which featured "gritty' gameplay and graphics. Since then next to nothing Bomberman related has seen the light of day. So it was a pleasant surprise to see Bomberman on the list of Switch launch titles and even more surprising was that the game was actually pretty good. Sure it had some control and game balance issues but it was still a lot of fun, particularly when you play multiplayer with friends. The game has had two major patches at the time this review is being written and they had addressed the majority of concerns with the game. Feel good about picking it up now, you may have help off at launch but as it stands now this is the Bomberman game that you have been waiting years for.

Awesome game. Can never go wrong with Bomberman. Graphics are good
