It doesn't "feel like" Bomberman. The controls are nowhere near tight enough. They feel slightly delayed and if you use the analog, the character moves in 8 directions. This is very bad. Bigly.

Terrible experience. All levels look the same, enemies follow the same exact paths, targeting/hitboxes are bad, etc. So bad that I had to put it down. As a fan of Bomberman, makes me sad to have wasted money on this.

I love Bomberman but this one lacks. Bomberman 64 had a fun 1 player mode and this doesn't.

Super Bomberman R (Offline gameplay version)

This is an excellent 8-player Party Game. Yes you heard me right, 8 players can play with 8 wireless controllers. This was the first 8-player videogame released for the Nintendo Switch; it even predates Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, (which also features Bomberman as an Assist Trophy and DLC outfit in Smash). The single player is good too. My only complaint is that the single player basically uses the points you earn in game similar to arcade quarters when it comes to gaining extra lives, an the save data cloud for this title is a little buggy. The victory lines for some characters can be annoying so I sometimes turn off the voice volume. My only advice, if you like 8-player party games, this is for your family, assuming you can find 5 or more players. The perfect excuse to buy 8 Joycons or controllers. (The game should also be able to utilize SNES pro controllers and NES Joycons, I have tried using an Nintendo Switch Online controller and it's pretty cool) If you plan on playing single player, my advice is: make sure you don't spend your points on multiplayer characters, stages and hats; until after you beat single player mode, if you plan on speedrunning.

This is another fun game in the series, and is awesome to have on-the-go with the portability of the Switch.

The last Bomber-Man game I played was on the N64, so needless to say I am not very good at this game. I have so much fun while I lose though. This game is fun, beautiful, and classic. There isn't much out yet of the Switch, but so far this is a must own title.

This is a great addition to the Bomberman franchise. It has the full online multiplayer experience everyone knows and loves, plus adds a single player campaign. If you don't plan on playing online I'd skip buying this. Online multiplayer is what will keep you playing for a long time.

    Missing the Details

This game is deeply flawed. While the gameplay is mediocre, there are so many aspects of this game that went neglected. For one, the story mode is lacking (and the story itself is so unbearably bad, but I guess we don't play games for the story). But the mechanics of unlocking items in this game is agonizingly frustrating: it costs half a million "gems" to unlock each accessory in full, which is insane when you consider that you get a measly 150 gems per match - and sometimes they don't give you any gems if you've won the match too quickly, it ends in a draw, or there are more rounds to play. And if you want to beat the game on "expert" mode, be ready to lose a ton of gems and not get any payoff when you've beaten it. Finally, you can't even change who you're playing against in this game: if you have a computer opponent, it will ALWAYS be White unless you've selected that. In the end, this is the worst Bomberman game I've played. Too many "little things" went neglected during the development of the game, and it shows. This was the first game I got on the Switch, and the one I was most excited about, but it's a far cry from Bomberman 64, which is 20 years older but 20 times better.
