    It's fun for sure but...

I love classic Bomberman and this brings the classic Bomberman action with a lovely visual update. There's also a quite fun single player mode. There's plenty of fun here but.... ...I'm not sure it can really be justified for $50. It feels more like the sort of thing that should be a $25 download. If it wasn't a launch title, I'm pretty sure it would have been but they're profiteering on the lack of competition. Of course, its lots of fun and classic Bomberman and the kids minds are blown but $50 for a retro game? Come on. I'd recommend it but only while it is on sale.

My kids love this game and plays it all day long. This is also one of my favorite games growing up, playing all the different versions of this game. In opinion, this is one of the most fun games ever

    Decent Release

If you've never played previous Bombermans then this game will be great. My family plays Bomberman on the Xbox 360 and that is what we judge newer Bombermans with. While this new game is fun and entertaining it feels cheap compared to the 360 version. The movement doesn't feel as precise as it was in the past. Overall it's still a good game and the Switch definitely needs more games in its lineup. I honestly think this should be priced at $20 max.

    A bit overpriced

The game is ok. I think it costs a bit too much for what it is. The camera angle is really annoying in the story mode, especially when playing with another person. It zooms out so much and you can only move the camera into 3 different positions. Standard battle mode is pretty good though. Some good classic bomberman there. I just really think it's only worth $20.

Classic Bomberman Action on a New System

The game is very much improved since launch. It now runs at 60 fps and the online is less laggy. If you're a fan of retro games and want a nice game for your Switch then you can't go wrong with Bomberman!

Decent, but not worth full price.

As a fan of Bomberman in the past, I had high hopes for this rendition to be a staple of my Switch Library. Unfortunately, a lot of small issues really drag this game down. An odd camera angle, bland enemies, and multiplayer issues are my biggest complaints. The story mode isn't awful, and has a co-op mode so you can tackle the story alongside friends. The enemies are fairly generic, and on some stages the minions can infinitely spawn, which gets pretty annoying. Multiplayer when playing on the same console is pretty OK, too. I've pulled it out during lunch hours and gotten some peers to huddle around the tiny screen and have a few laughs. At a friend's house, we tried to connect our two switch's over local network, and the input lag was unplayable. I was never able to connect to a game over the internet, but I'd wager the same issues would be prevalent there, as well. All in all, it's a decent experience albeit with many flaws that prevent me from being able to recommend purchasing for full price.

This is a great game to buy. Brings back old memories of bomberman. You will not be disappointed! The game has decent difficulty and online bomberman is awesome!

This title is like a flashback! Remember the old games from Snes? It's the same experience but now you can play online, on portable mode and with friends.

    Good game after the update

After the recent update, the controls feel more responsive and does not seem to lag in story mode. Note that if you want to change the joycons to allow 2 player, you have to go into the Switch settings and reconfigure the joycons to split. You cannot do this in the Bomberman menus.

Really enjoying the multiplayer. While Zelda is clearly the star of the launch lineup Bbomberman has been a blast to play with other people.

    Missing the Details

This game is deeply flawed. While the gameplay is mediocre, there are so many aspects of this game that went neglected. For one, the story mode is lacking (and the story itself is so unbearably bad, but I guess we don't play games for the story). But the mechanics of unlocking items in this game is agonizingly frustrating: it costs half a million "gems" to unlock each accessory in full, which is insane when you consider that you get a measly 150 gems per match - and sometimes they don't give you any gems if you've won the match too quickly, it ends in a draw, or there are more rounds to play. And if you want to beat the game on "expert" mode, be ready to lose a ton of gems and not get any payoff when you've beaten it. Finally, you can't even change who you're playing against in this game: if you have a computer opponent, it will ALWAYS be White unless you've selected that. In the end, this is the worst Bomberman game I've played. Too many "little things" went neglected during the development of the game, and it shows. This was the first game I got on the Switch, and the one I was most excited about, but it's a far cry from Bomberman 64, which is 20 years older but 20 times better.

Bomberman R has been a lot of fun for those rare moments that I decided to stop playing Zelda. Great graphics and music. Nice addition to my Switch library.

    A $20 game asking for $60

In no way is this game worth the price. The incredibly small amount of content provided is more akin to a $20 game. The only way they got the asking price is because it was a launch game, and now that more games have come out YOU SHOULD ABSOLUTELY BUY SOMETHING ELSE! The graphics and in game power-ups could pretty much be copy pasted from Bomberman on N64. If you need a game to play with friends buy Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. If you're looking for a game to spend 100 hours on, buy Zelda BotW. If you want to play an arena multiplayer game wait until Splatoon 2 releases, but for the love of God you will regret buying Super Bomberman R. So save yourself the hassle, and buy anything else.

A straight up nostalgic game in the most recent form. Best part of this is of course the party game style the Switch boasts with up to 8 live players!

Konami needs to fix the controls on this game. Trying to stop on a dime in this game is a no go (it keeps walking one more square). Online is even worse the input latency is really bad I do not recommend for now.

bought on release night for the switch and was immediately disappointed. No one plays online, several performance issues that took months for devs to fix. worth picking up when its on clearance.
