Customers consistently note the high quality of the three included games, frequently citing the nostalgic appeal and overall value as significant positives. Many also enjoy the fun factor and portability of the collection. However, some users point to control and camera issues as potential drawbacks, along with a feeling that the games are not significantly enhanced from their original versions.

I've been waiting for this compilation for a long time. My favorite of the 3 is Sunshine. I did not play the other 2 on their respective original consoles. Although I did play Mario 64 DS and I was kind of hoping Nintendo would use those textures and put them in HD. Nintendo 64 era graphics haven't aged well but Mario 64 is still fun to play! I've only noticed minor frame rate issues with Sunshine and it would have been awesome if Nintendo included more in this collection like a section that explain how the games were developed. The controls for Switch work really well and I am so glad they didn't invert the X and Y axis. Very great collection! Super happy I bought this early!!

Three older, iconic, amazing titles, ported over with visual improvements. What’s not to like? Minor control discrepancies with newer GameCube and pro controllers that slightly affect sunshine’s controls. Galaxy takes a little bit to get used too with the joycons, but feels good after a while. All three games are amazing, nostalgic, and look wonderful in their new ratios. Essentially 3 good ports of older titles for $60 has some people complaining, and I do agree being bundled together and given their age and relative ease of porting over, $60 seems a bit steep, but for three classic Nintendo titles to be playable on the switch, it’s well worth the average Nintendo game’s price.

I am naturally a Super Mario Fan. The first time I was introduced to Mario, I loved it. I decided to keep up with the newest games in the franchise, so this is why 3D All-Stars caught my interest. This cartridge contains 3 Mario games; Super Mario 64 (came out on the Nintendo 64 in 1996), Super Mario Sunshine (came out on the GameCube in 2002), and Super Mario Galaxy (came out on the Wii in 2007). It also contains the soundtracks of each game. On the switch, Nintendo optimized it to have better graphics and ported controls to the Pro Controller and the JoyCons. Overall, this cartridge is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. I hope this review helped you!

This is a great way to experience these 3 classic Mario games in one affordable collection. It would cost a lot more to get all these games on their original systems than this collection costs.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a great game for someone who grew up playing these 3 games or younger gamers who are fans of the Mario games who haven't played these games. I have only played Super Mario 64 on this cartridge so far, but, it's been as fun as I remember. I just wish Nintendo would have done more to update the game. The camera on Super Mario 64 is worse than I remembered. For this being a part of the 35th anniversary of the Mario video game series Nintendo could have done much better. The graphics could have been updated more and there could have been additional content you could unlock for completing each of the 3 games. Otherwise the game is fun if you enjoy playing the Mario games or want to revisit games you grew up with. I just feel if Nintendo actually put some effort into this collection it could have been much better which is why I only gave it a 3/5.

These are 3 of the the greatest Mario classics ever, all in one package. I love that they cleaned up the graphics on all 3 games. Even in the world that we live in today, these games still hold their own, and look like something much more modern than they are. They left the playability very similar to the original versions which I love. The greatest improvement of all three games is the camera angles on Mario sunshine. I cannot express a negative enough word on this site to describe the original camera on Mario sunshine. They have fixed those issues in this new version and now I can truly enjoy the game with no irritation. GREAT JOB NINTENDO !!! all 3 games are wonderful.

It's a great addition for Switch users who want to relive the N64 and Wii Mario games. Great price as Nintendo stopped producing these and removed it from their eShop.

This is a collection of games that contains three titles: Super Mario 64 (originally released on Nintendo 64), Super Mario Sunshine (Originally on the Gamecube) and Super Mario Galaxy (originally on the Wii). They are basically identical to their original releases, though they look a tiny bit better and are tweaked to fit the Switch control scheme. Despite the lack of any bells and whistles, the games hold up incredibly well and are a great bargain considering what you would have to spend on the originals and their respective systems. Also, this product is only being sold until March, so the sooner you get on it, the better. If you love 3D Mario titles, this is a must own.

3 games in one. Can't complain about that. Even though these games are just re releases of previous titles. It's nice to have these titles in one set. I missed Sunshine the first time around. So, for me this is a new experience and try this game out for the first time. The complains have been that there aren't enough new features to make this a worthy collection. There isn't anything wrong with that. Especially, since Nintendo CLEARLY said that these titles would just be the same ports as their previous releases. This is a great game for those that want to play them over again. Or, like myself get the opportunity to get to play one or more titles for the first time.

I love Mario games and like many people, I have been hoping I can play them all on the Switch. With previous releases and Nintendo Switch’s online membership providing some games, these were three of the last (still hoping for Mario Galaxy 2) when you remember that Super Mario 3D World was announced to come out next year. I am having a lot of fun with this collection and it is exactly what it is, nothing remastered at all. Just the three games more or less ported and controls mapped for the Switch. If that is what you are looking for then you will likely be pleased. If you are thinking that these will be remastered versions, then it might not be the collection for you.

3 Gems in a Lackluster Shine

3 out of 5 Stars is a fair rating, let me explain why. The Good 1 ) These are 3 of the greatest Mario games to ever be released. Considering how much the original releases go for on the second hand market, 60 bucks to have them all on the Switch and be portable is massive. 2 ) The sheer amount of playtime you can get for only 60 bucks is insane. This will definitely keep you entertained for over 100+hrs. 3 ) Some control options have been improved or just overhauled to make gameplay massively better. 4 ) With everything on a cartridge, load times are short and lets you get into the game faster. 64 was originally a cartridge, but comparing Sunshine or Galaxy to their original disc reading speed, there's no contest. 5 ) Galaxy is clearly the best in both control options and visual upgrades. Compared to how well the Wii U upgraded the visuals, the Switch port takes it slightly farther. In some cases, the game looks like it could've been released in 2020 and we wouldn't tell the difference. The Bad 1 ) These are straight ports with little to nothing improved overall. This goes for the overall presentation. Despite being a grand celebration for Mario's anniversary, they did less than the bare minimum to celebrate. 2 ) Mario 64 got a slight upgrade in visuals, yes, but it's massively lacking in key areas. The Mario 64 DS version would've been a much better choice given that it already remade the original in 3D and has additional content. 3 ) Sunshine has a lot of flaws that the Gamecube originally hid well enough that we couldn't see. Since it's a simple port, they didn't bother to fix any of the bugs. The bug problem is also present in 64. 4 ) The decision to make it only available for a few months is baffling. It's already being hawked for insane amounts on the second hand market. Physical releases I can understand being limited, but having the digital version--which takes no additional resources--also vanish from the eShop is bizarre decision making. All of these points are fair. Each title in this collection are fantastic in their own rights. Together, this is a no brainer. However, Nintendo did so little to actually make it appealing. In essence, they basically ducktaped all 3 titles together, used a Powerpoint template as the loading screen, and expect praise. It's amazing to have all 3 titles on modern hardware and portable for entertainment. It's horrific that Nintendo is doing such a lackluster performance for their main mascot and will continue to do the bare minimum.

Great games, though they could have fixed some of the known bugs, particularly in Super Mario 64. Compared to other ports, getting 3 games for the same price you'd pay for most other single-game ports is a steal. Growing up on Super Mario 64, it's crazy to see how gaming has developed over the years. Mario Sunshine and Galaxy are/were fine -- obviously they weren't running 4K graphics when they came out (nor are they now) -- but Super Mario 64, while fun to play/relive my early gaming days, can be difficult and annoying at times (which isn't a bash on the game, just relative to how nice we have it now).

Satisfied my nostalgia for the classic games I grew up with, loved, and missed. Especially super Mario 64. This past year especially, I had been wanting to play the game with a passion for some random reason. I was sooo close to buying a N64 used online. I had some hopes that maybe it would be brought to the switch and sure enough! Even greater is the inclusions of sunshine and galaxy in the same game. Although I still have my GameCube and wii! Do note that it really is just the old games transferred to be compatible with the switch. Don’t think there is any added levels or anything. But, if you’re just looking to play some old games you loved, it’s perfect!

This collection of great games contain each great game from the three previous Nintendo series systems. Super Mario 64 takes the classic game and make it with a little better graphics and a better controller than the N64. Sunshine gives you an extra accessory to play the Mario game with the use of water. You can use it to float around, or shoot water at enemies, or use it to clean up the town. Galaxy makes you explore other planets and worlds using a full 3D environment. You are challenged to find the stars and star bits in all kinds of obstacles. If you want to experience the great games from previous generations of systems, then this collection is for you.

Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy sell themselves. These games are huge, and deserved a bit more polish than they received. Most games in this collection are played better elsewhere, with fan ports of 64 and superior emulation of Sunshine. Galaxy is an exception as the motion controls with split Joycon are arguably better than using the Wii pointer. Mario 64 has the drawback of being stuck in the 4:3 aspect ratio, giving you black bars on the sides of the screen. Mario Sunshine has some minor emulation glitches, such as debug cubes being visible. The biggest issue with Sunshine is the F.L.U.D.D. control scheme. Nintendo decided to un-invert the spray of the water, which feels unnatural to me despite having played very little Sunshine on Gamecube. There isn't a toggle for the inverted Y-axis, so fans of Sunshine will have to get used to this change. The best part of this collection is the convenience factor. Having a solid way to play some of the best Mario games on a handheld all in one bundle is nice, and some people don't want to set up their own emulators.

I bought this just for Sunshine and the other two games are a bonus to me. I bought this cuz I can’t play the original cuz it makes me super nauseous within 5 minutes, but this version, since it’s smoother and doesn’t lag, I could finally play this. So after 18 long years of waiting, I’ve finally finished Sunshine. Hell of a game, awesome game by itself. I’d say, this is worth playing either for the first time or to play again. You will enjoy these games. Just got 2 things I don’t like, no full GameCube controller support in Sunshine and the pointer drifts in Galaxy cuz a gyro is not the same as IR tracking, but it does well enough to enjoy the game still.

I could have given 5 out of 5 stars for Mario Games, but this 4 out of 5 does not mean it's a bad game at all. The games themselves are perfect of the originals, but I'm knocking it down one star. These ports are updated in HD, but Mario 64 could have went widescreen. But what really knocked it one star down for me is the soundtrack section did not have options to repeat the same song in a loop, which is odd because when you have a music CD you could do these things in loop, but this is not the case. It's odd because it almost as if it was a promo for the soundtrack to convince you to actually buy the CD product somehow. Smash Bros has a great Music track, nearly 1,000 songs (with DLCs added), can be played in a loop, or as an album you could choose from. I would have wished Galaxy 2 was in this collection, though I understand it would be too much, but it would have fit with the 3D All-Stars if you compared the first 4 games on original Mario All-Stars. I felt it could have went 4 games again with this. I hope we'd see Galaxy 2 eventually!
