Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the high quality of the three included games, frequently citing the nostalgic appeal and overall value as significant positives. Many also enjoy the fun factor and portability of the collection. However, some users point to control and camera issues as potential drawbacks, along with a feeling that the games are not significantly enhanced from their original versions.

Awesome games brought back under the Switch. Fun for all family, would have preferred if graphics were refined but it's worth the price.

Really fun, if you enjoyed any of this at their time of release you will enjoy experiencing them again. IF any of this were before your time be ready to be amazed. Though the graphics on Super MArio 64 leave a bit to be desired especially compared to Sunshine and Galaxy, the game play is still magnificently solid and charming as it was 20+ years ago.

Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy are good to amazing games. 64 still plays very well to this day but is a little wanky with it’s camera and being pushed to it’s N64 hardware. The 720P crop is not the worst thing in the world as others say. Sunshine is a weird but great game with it’s controls being the best Mario has ever controlled at the time. And Galaxy is a masterpiece in every department. This is a great collection that you should buy if you love Mario and if you somehow never experienced any or all of these games.

The three games found in this collection are justifiably beloved by many people, including myself, but the way these games are presented in this package is, to put it lightly, lame. The whole collection feels rushed, the main menu layout is only barely passable, and the only extras to speak of are collections of the music in each game. You don't even have any options to speak of (things like inverting or uninverting aiming controls are completely absent). This fact in particular is frustrating if you grew up playing Super Mario Sunshine and are suddenly hit with Nintendo's baffling decision to uninvert aiming and camera controls in this remaster that you can't set back to the original layout. For a limited-run item meant to help celebrate the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., this is definitely much better than that time Nintendo put a SNES game on a Wii disk and called it a day, and it's great to be able to take these games on the go, but at the end of the day, as much as I love these games, this was disappointingly lazy. If Nintendo had put some real work into this collection, Super Mario 3D All-Stars might potentially be my favorite Switch game. As it stands, I just wonder what was (or wasn't) going through their heads when making this.

Three all-time classics, now unavailable bc they're back in the Nintendo vault. Man, you'll have a ball with these three essential pieces of interactive media, assuming Old Man Miyamoto won't break into your house in the dead of night to hold you accountable for that used copy you had to pick up from the dreaded Stop of Game

It’s nice to finally play these games again. I think 64 could’ve been remade instead (I’ve forgotten how terrible early N64 era controls are) but Sunshine is the real star here. It looks great in HD, plays well, and the added GameCube controller support is nostalgic. Galaxy still feels best on the Wii, but it too looks great in HD. The whole temporarily available thing is... a thing... hopefully when that ends these will be released separately. But all in all it’s a good way to enjoy older games or introduce newer fans to the classics.

Super Mario 3D All Stars is a worthwhile bundle of 3 fantastic Mario games. Whether you grew up playing the games or are playing them for the first time; this collection is worth every cent. Although there are complaints with the camera and size of the screen in Mario 64. The pros outweigh the cons and shouldn’t stop anyone from picking this game up.

My dad placed the pick up order for me to get my copy and I got an extra one for a coworker. I cant speak on the behalf of my coworker, but I love the game. I should say games. I had 2 out of the 3 (sunshine and galaxy) and I loved them when I was younger, and playing 64 is honestly fun and despite It being an old classic its new to me:).

Nintendo fans love to complain but they're wrong on this. The games are virtually untouched - which is just what I wanted - and play as they did 20+ years ago. Would I like a better camera controls and widescreen in SM64? Sure. It's also not a game-changer for me. Almost 100 hours of Mario across there games - I'm not complaining at all.

I have played all of the games prior to this collection and %100 completed all but the original Mario 64. These games have aged very well. From the depths of space in galaxy to the tropical paradise of sunshine, there is a lot to enjoy here. It has felt amazing being able to re visit these games on a newer console and be able to take it on the go.

    Good Ports, but They're Emulated

Overall, this is a very good title, and a great way to experience the N64, Gamecube, and Wii originals. The retail price is a bit high for what you get (they should've included Mario Galaxy 2 as well), but it's not out of the ordinary for Nintendo. These are all done through hybrid emulation (they map updated images into the emulator to show the correct Switch buttons, for example), but the emulation is very good. It's definitely easier than digging out the old systems, and it may allow for future ports to the Switch.

For what it is, a cartridge containing three of the great 3D Mario games, it meets expectations. It's nice having these three games on the go and being able to play on the TV with ease. In regards to the experience, I just wish more was done to make this special instead of feeling like three ported (with little improvement) games with a PowerPoint presentation for menus. Disappointed, and I didn't even have my expectations set that high.
