Purchased this for my kids for Christmas, but it so much fun I think I’ve put more time into than they have. The visuals are impressive and colorful and the gameplay is responsive and challenging. This is the best Mario game I’ve played in years.

Love Love Love this game! Me and my 9yr old play it together. Its so colorful and has great music. We just beat the game yesterday and even the ending credits are interactive. Any mario lover will truly love this souped up version of our childhoods

It was overall a worthwhile experience, but I have some issues with the game. First is that the difficulty isn’t that high, and I wish it had more challenging levels at points. Second, I felt that a lot of the levels didn’t have quite enough substance or length of them. The art design was amazing and the music was fantastic as well, but I wish the levels had a little bit more substance. 

I have played Super Mario games since the first Nintendo Entertainment System came out. I have played most of the Mario games that have come out and this is by far the best most fun game I have played. It os just challenging enough to keep you going and when you have to start over due to a mistake its not frustrating. The animation of the characters, both playable and non-playable characters is amazing and animated, the Wonder Flower effect for all stages are interesting and fun. I absolutely recommend this game for anyone who wants to play a fun game that offers great challenges

A very fun game! Mario FINALLY with a new entry that isn't continuing the "New" games, comes back just as good if not, better than EVER before now with more friends. And the best part of the game, they finally make PRINCESS DAISY returns and on top of that as a playable character too, which was further reason as to why I wanted to get this game quickly as possible (Sadly I got sick at the time of the release of this game). Even better is that this is probably the first Mario game that isn't a spin off that features so many playable characters. 12 in fact. I usually only se that in fan games. If you own a Switch or are planning to own one then you should get this game immediately!

2D Mario is back! If you haven’t already decided to get this game, you need it! It’s fun, it’s challenging, it’s great for the whole Fam! “Piranha on Parade” is hands down the best level!

This game is WONDERFUL! I love everything about it from the new power ups to the new level/character design and art direction. I had a great time getting 100% on each level and it left me wanting more. What a great Mario game. Kudos to Nintendo.

I bought this game for my wife and I to play through together. From the moment the game started up, you could tell it was crafted with a tone of care and thoughtfulness. The animations and ideas are just beyond anything I could have expected. The only downside I've experienced so far are that the controls seem a bit too tight for my initial liking. 30 minutes in, I got used to them. Great game for any Mario or platformer fan.

Amazing platformer with tons of charm in its artstyle, animation, and gameplay options. Truly a modern classic of a Mario game that excels in level design. A must have for Switch owners.

A great twist on the classic side-scrolling Mario game. The levels are mostly great fun (a few of the levels are almost too hard) and while I'm playing as Mario now, I am looking forward to playing all over again as other characters.

Children and new players will love it of course, but even lapsed Mario players will likely find this entry charming and refreshing. It won’t seem as revolutionary to those who have played titles like Rayman Legends or DKC Tropical Freeze, but there’s an abundance of personality compared to the New Super Mario Bros series. The badge system makes the characters customizable, rather than locking abilities behind specific characters, letting players mix and match characters with play styles. The game is a little on the easy side, but it’s also oozing with speedrun potential to encourage replay ability. Overall a worthy GOTY contender.

A wonderful reimagining of the classic side-scrolling Super Mario Bros. Each level seems to bring a new version of "ooh!" and "ahhhh!" A fun and visually impressive way to reintroduce the genre to a new generation.

My son loves this game. He always goes back to it when he’s tired of a different one.

Amazing game, the colors where beautiful, the game play never lacked. I have found every mario game since Mario Bros Wii boring so I gave up on the series, but this game brought me back in. Some people said they get headaches from all the colors and After experimenting a bit, i found that playing far from the screen with low brightness helps if you have a crazy good tv. Other than that, the sound, the music is amazing too. I will say though, the bowser fight was a bit... Underwhelming. But the road to get there was amazing. The multiplayer feature is also really cool and creative, can definitely help you out, and is worth using even if you dont need help. 100% recommend

I have been playing Super Mario Bros since its beginning on the NES, and I have played just about every Mario game. In my opinion this is an excellent side-scrolling Mario game, and probably the best one out there. Super creative in lots of ways and very engaging and fun for lots of ages.

Absolutely perfect. Nostalgia up the yin Yang. Great party and single player modes. And huge replay ability. A word to the wise though. Do NOT pre-order from Bestbuy if you want to play on launch day. Mine is heading here from several states away when there is a store 2 miles from me and will arrive tomorrow by 10 pm. I had to drive out this morning to pick up an additional copy for my kids.
