    The first Super Mario Maker made a huge impact when it came out. For the first time, you could create your own Mario levels with Nintendo's own tools and iconography. It led to a long half life for the game's community, which unfortunately has not worked the same way for the sequel. The smaller screen makes it more difficult to envision a full level as you are building, along with a few more dimished quality of life features, so it's no longer the endless source of innovative ideas from the first game.
