Customers are saying

Customers love the fantastic gameplay and level design, which are the most frequently praised aspects of the experience. Players also appreciate the fun, accessible controls and the vast amount of content available within the open world. While the game is highly regarded for its performance and story, some users feel the difficulty level is too low and the price point is slightly high.

This game is good. There is a lot of things to collect and find in this game. If you want to 100% complete this you'll have your work cut out for you there are 999 moon shards to collect and each world has purple coins that need to be found.

This has been our favorite Nintendo Switch game by far. Story line is the same, princess kidnapped and Mario to the rescue, however the game has so much to do it will keep you entertained. Kids and adults will love this game.

I've been wanting a more open adventure Mario game since Mario Sunshine and this game delivered in every way possible. Beautiful music, amazing graphic, tight controls, and superb gameplay makes this game a MUST HAVE for any Switch owners.

Started playing mario odyssey and didn't know if I would like it from the videos I had seen. But thought to give it a shot and I was impressed by the controls, levels, and story. I would give 4.5 out of 5.

    Perfect Mario Game

Mario Odyssey is a fantastic Mario Game which encourages exploration and experimentation while lessening frustration. Doing away with the traditional lives system enables players to relax, enjoy, and most importantly complete the game. Even included is an easier guidance mode for younger/newer players. It's obvious Nintendo wants everyone to to enjoy and complete the whole game. Graphically it's gorgeous and does away with power up suits for 'capturing enemies and items in the environment. This opens up the player to a multitude of fun scenarios that never have happened before. It runs fantastically in portable mode as well...i usually got around 3 hrs a charge on the internal battery. Mario Odyssey is another system seller for the Switch and is reason enough alone to buy one. I could recommend it enough!

This is one of the most fun games I've played since Super Mario Galaxy, 10 years ago. The camera and controls are perfect, the levels are imaginative and so fun to explore, plus the music is phenomenal. I don't have any complaints about it.

A fun game for the kids. My 5 year-old loves it and he picked up on what to do without much help from an adult. Definitely great addition to our game collection. Recommend this to anyone that loves Mario or games or has a young gamer.

After the relative letdown of super mario 3d land, Nintendo's back with an epic, huge 3d mario. The number of worlds and things to do are enormous. There's easily dozens of hours of content, and even more to master the game, if you choose.

Excellent diversity of all Mario elements. I love the open-sand box feel with the incorporated 2D 8-bit Mario levels channeling the classic games like SNES Mario & Mario 64. Love the variability in levels. Excellent, excellent, excellent.

The amount of content and detail put into this game is impressive. Great mechanics and challenging gameplay. Overall, it's a game that the Switch needed to consolidate it as a great system to buy. Definitely buy vs renting, in my opinion

Mario has always been a fixture in every gamer's minds. Even for those of us that grew up going fast with Sega, we all enjoyed Mario. Over the years though, game franchises have come and gone. Those that are still around don't usually pack the same fun...except for one. Mario Odyssey is another amazing game in the Mario franchise. This is a must own experience for gamers of all ages. While it may be a bit "easy," there are plenty of challenges that are very difficult even for experienced gamers. I'm not a fan of forced motion controls, but they work here. Because of those little gripes, it is not the greatest game of all time, but if you only focused on those you'd be missing one of the most fun, beautiful, and amazing experiences in recent gaming. Buy this game and enjoy yet another great in the Mario franchise.

I love the end of old Mario games and new! It’s also super fun to play with my boyfriend! It’s easy enough for kids but if you do all of the things it’s relatively challenging. Graphics look nice and super entertaining!

This game is so much fun and has so much content. I usually hate the end of a game I love because there is no more, but with this I know that there is more to do once I complete it that is unlocked. The amiibos add more fun as well.

If you have any doubt about getting this game and you enjoy platformers or exploration type of games, you can slap those doubts away immediately. Super Mario Odyssey builds itself from all of the previous 3D (and to some extent 2D) games. It has the right amount of elements from each and it compliments Mario's newest feature/gimmick, cappy. The keyword for this game is "surprise". No matter how long I've been playing, the gameplay and exploration never gets stale. There are many things to discover and do that they can't be listed in this review. My only minor gripe with the game is oddly its controls. While many will tell you that motion controls are optional, there are actually a few moons that will require the use for them (ableit, very very very briefly). An improvement over Galaxy's, but still annoying.
