Customers love the fantastic gameplay and level design, which are the most frequently praised aspects of the experience. Players also appreciate the fun, accessible controls and the vast amount of content available within the open world. While the game is highly regarded for its performance and story, some users feel the difficulty level is too low and the price point is slightly high.

This game is great! I actuslly have missed out on a lot of mario games but coming back into the games after getting a switch is definitely a great experience for me. Definitely would recommend for anyone with a switch.

My wife and I played this all weekend, taking turns because the 2 player mode isn't too great. That and the music being too loud/repetitive in some kingdoms are my only real complaints. The main story is pretty short (about 10-13 hours depending on how much you explore) but there is easily 20+ hours here if you want to do everything. The game is fairly easy, but does have its challenging moments. Dressing up Mario is so much fun. There are tons of references to past games, secrets to discover and fun to be had. Definitely a MUST-BUY for Switch owners!

Excellent game with fantastic Nintendo Switch controls. The game looks phenomenal and has Super Mario Brothers written all over it. I can't even begin to describe how great the levels, the music, the controls, and just everything about the game is. What's even more awesome is that with Nintendo Switches portability, you can even take this game on the go, or heck, to bed with you to get a few more minutes of awesome play time in.

I've been a fan of Mario since I played it on my NES in the early 90s. This game just gives me the Mario 64 vibes when I play it. Each time I get to a new world it puts a smile on my face. If you like to explore and do quick puzzles, then you will love going through each level finding moons and coins. There are also some great new outfits to customize Mario's look! This game also has a picture mode, which allows you to use filters and different angles to capture all the cool stuff you do. This is a must buy game for anyone who loves video games.

The most highly anticipated Switch game yet, Super Mario Odyssey had a huge hype train behind it and still does. For the most part, it delivers. Odyssey is a beautiful game with tight controls, an epic feel and it makes you smile throughout. It is friendly for all ages and is highly addictive. Using your hat to possess enemies is one of the coolest game mechanics ever introduced to the Mario franchise. I love the 2D side-scrolling sections which pay tribute to the original Super Mario Bros. Overall, it is a masterpiece. It is, however, not a perfect game. Although not mandatory to beat the game, some of the hat moves in the game can only be done using motion controls. The motion controls are garbage. I would estimate that moves using motion controls have about a 20% success rate, even if you're performing the motion flawlessly. Also, the game is far too short and too easy. Although getting 100% completion is long and challenging, the main quest is too low on challenge and it's over far too quickly. I finished it in about 8 hours, and it felt even shorter. These flaws ultimately keep Odyssey from joining the elite class of the best Mario games ever made. That said, it's still a highly enjoyable experience that anyone who owns a Switch should play.

Mario has had dozens of games, and more than a handful of 3D adventures. Most of those 3D adventures never could live up to the beauty and fun of Mario 64, but this one not only is able to accomplish this easily, but it also completely surpasses it. Mario Odyssey is simply the most fun I've ever had in a Mario game! There is always something new waiting around every corner, something new to explore, new rewards every which way you turn. If you like 3D Mario games like Mario 64, Sunshine, or Galaxy, this will be right up your alley.

Fantastic game that hits all the major points a game should. Amazing art style, great controls, smart camera, engaging game play and re-playable. One of the things that I love about this game is the way they handle you "losing a life". Instead of punishing you with trying to find 1-Ups or keeping an eye on your lives, the game just removes some coins from your stash. The great part is that you can just run around the level and recoup your losses which makes the frustration of missing your jumps or that ledge a little less painful.

Haven't played a mario game since Mario 64, and holy crap this game recaptured that magical feeling I had like 20+ years ago. The game looks and plays beautifully, is fun and charming, and tons to do and explore. The controls are great, easy to start but takes time to master, which is good if you're a more experienced gamer. I've been having a great time playing, and highly recommend this game to anyone who has a switch. Hell, if you don't have a switch buy one and play it!

I haven't gotten far into it since I have only played it for about an hour and a half and so far I am LOVING it. This is a very beautiful, bright, colorful and amazing game. It feels like it's Super Mario 64 mixed with Super Mario Galaxy. The controls are on point, the music is very nice and overall it is a game that everyone should play. I can't wait to let my nephew have a go at it and see what he thinks, hopefully It'll make him a Mario fan. A must buy for the beginner, casual and hardcore fan of platforms. Thank you.

I bought the Switch specifically for this game and it was worth every penny. I'm about 10 hours into the gameplay, but from what I've seen so far this will be a classic that sits well beside the previous Galaxy entries. The visuals are stunning, music beautiful and gameplay solid like usual. This game is more of an open world and less linear than the galaxy games which I like as it encourages exploration. A lot of new & exciting twists and turns in the Mario formula that I won't spoil. Totally worth buying a switch for. Enjoy!

This game delivers so much entertainment. The price is a bit high, and I would recommend used. The multiplayer is not fun though. Even still, I think the $60 was worth it. But mario 3d world + bowsers fury might be slightly better, more replayable, and has great multiplayer.

To play mario is the reason i got the switch of course. I am 34 and used to play mario in the nes. Been years since I've played. Let me tell you i love this game. It really takes me back. The graphics are great. I love the story and everything. Still a lot of old characters i remember with a new age feel. When i put it on the big screen i was just amazed. The colors and everything just so beautiful. I am in love with this game all over again.

Easily the best Mario since Galaxy and Galaxy 2, and possibly better. It's hard not to smile when exploring the many worlds Odyssey has to offer. The game is massive and will surprise you with new ideas at every turn. It only scratches the surface of the potential it offers through its incredible movement system. A sequel can't come soon enough. A few of the moons you're tasked to find are a little uninspired, but considering there are over 800 to seek out, that's not much of a complaint. I can't recommend it enough.

It has been a long time since I've played a Mario title of this sort. I skipped an entire console generation of the Wii, and only got the Wii U at the end of it's cycle. So my last Mario title of this sort, was Sunshine on the Gamecube. That being said, the game is very familiar coming from the memories of Sunshine on the Gamecube. Even at times having some interesting little throw backs to it. There is a lot more freedom in this game to slow down, admire the scenery, and explore. There are some little issues I have had with the games "advanced controls". They decided to make use of motion controls with the joycon controllers for some little advanced abilities. Some of which can still be activated with normal controls, but not easily as a quick joycon movement. Those controls so far have been entirely optional, and haven't ruined my enjoyment of the game, but was still a minor annoyance feeling barred from them when I play without using 2 free floating joycons, which just feels alien to me personally. All in all, the game so far has been great. Plenty to do, a lot to explore in typical Mario fashion. The motion controls just seem like a wonky gimmick addition to me.

I'm not a die hard Mario fan and this is easily one of the best games I've played. Really like how they changed the lives system to be more forgiving. Having little time to play these days, I just want to relax and have some fun without stressing too much on the number of lives I have left in any given zone. Only negative I can find is the lack of difficulty when fighting the bosses. The graphics are very sharp and look amazing and the new possession mechanic makes for some fun methods of getting from point A to B.
