Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game so far and have been enjoying every minute of it. Highly recommended if you're a Mario fan. It's very similar to some of the previous titles where you go from world to world collecting stars/moons to power up the next world. Puzzles and secrets are scattered everywhere!

Throw Your Hat at Everything
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many before has said, this is nostalgia crack for anyone who loved Super Mario on n64. When I first started playing, I was a giddy 10 year old again doing back flips and ground stomps with Mario. I had the one for the Wii, and I know you could use two controller/hands features , but I don't remember why or to what extension it was. Throwing the cap with the controll on the switch feels much more natural. When they say you can possess things and throw your cap at everything, they do mean everything. It will either bust through something, kill a baddie, or possess a baddy. The only minor downside I see is the outfit aspect of the game. All fine and good that you don't have to buy anything with real money to deck out mario in accessories. But I wish certain outfits gave Mario abilities - like the different suits you could get after finding the different colored blocks in N64. I just think it would make collecting all the purple coins more meaningful

Great game for getting back into Mario
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll be honest, the last Mario game I played was on the Nintendo 64. I'm embarrassed to admit that around that time I bought into the hype that it was the hardware specs and the graphics that defined a good gaming experience, but have come back around to understanding that graphics aren't everything, the game needs to be fun. And this game definitely is fun, and that it is visually stunning is an added bonus. The mechanics with Cappy are unique and I appreciate the new take on game play. I appreciate that there is the option to use motion control, but that it isn't required. The puzzle solving is challenging without being artificially frustrating (there is nothing worse than something that has been made hard simply for the sake of being hard, so far the challenge all seems natural to the game mechanics and story telling). And, at the end of the day, I'll be honest, who doesn't love to be able to possess the enemies and use them against themselves.

Easy, stress free game that everyone can finish
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a difficult time finishing games, however this was one I was able to get to the end credits of without putting it down for more than a couple of days here and there. There are still moons to get after the main story is completed and other endgame content I am currently going through. The game was made to be as fun and not stress inducing. Dying loses you 10 coins, which are used to purchase new outfits and easy to come by. The bosses are not impossible to beat and well timed. This game can be played by a large age group and still be extremely enjoyable. The two person version of the game, however, I found not very fun at all. The second player gets to control cappy and the camera angle. Ahhhh this drove me bonkers as many areas needed the camera in particular angles to see what needed to be done. And if the person playing cappy isn't proficient at video games this leads to frustrations as the cap is used to jump, kill enemies, etc.

Super Mario Odyssey took my money and it's OK!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly this is the definitive Mario game for the Switch. From the fresh new perspective on its platforming to even introducing some old school aspects (Which I wont spoil). The game is not very challenging but if you want to go the extra mile to collect all the items can be rewarding.

A Mario Game That Feels Like A Sandbox
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For parents who don’t play games: A sandbox game is a game that gives you the freedom to do whatever it is you’d like whenever you’d like. This game is good for children of all ages due to its Assist Mode, helping them (or parents without gaming experience) find their way with helpful blue arrows. Review: Super Mario Odyssey manages to keep the same feel as every other Mario you’ve played (since N64) without the glorified loading screens. The game focuses on saving Peach from Bowser by powering up the spaceship Odyssey with moons from each kingdom. Which moons you collect is entirely your choice. The story is good and the visuals are awesome. Single-player is my preferred method but you can play two-player, each player using one of the Joy-Cons. If you’re looking for a two-player game that allows both players freedom, don’t buy this. Player Two has control over Cappy and relies heavily on Player One to move around the kingdoms.

A Masterpiece!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game just keeps on surprising me with every new level. There is so much to see, do, collect, and by letting Mario take over the bodies of enemies and inanimate objects, there are so many new and exciting abilities you can gain to complete objectives. Truly a joy to play!

Visually stunning, lots to do, very fun game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first new Mario adventure I've purchased since Super Mario 64. There are plenty of similarities to that title, but on a seemingly much larger scale. I've only played a few hours so far, but I'm very impressed to this point. It's quite impressive. Everything from the breathtaking visuals to the creativity and imagination required to seek out all of the moons and coins within each kingdom... I am really very impressed with this game. I especially like that there are several points in the game in which Mario reverts to his flat, 8-bit, 2-dimensional NES form in order to complete a side-scrolling throwback section. It serves as a pretty cool nod to those of us who grew up on that Mario back in the day. If I had to say that there was a drawback to this game, I'd say it's the complexity of the controls, although to be fair, I am still new to both this game and the Nintendo Switch as a whole. I definitely recommend this game!

Super Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the most fun I’ve had with a video game in a long time. The controls are buttery smooth. The visuals are vibrant and beautiful, the music and sound effects are catchy and nostalgic and the gameplay is a blast. If you own a Nintendo Switch, you should grab this cart.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had previously purchased Mario Kingdom Battle, but found this to quickly advance beyond our 5 and 9 year old's ability to play independently. We have only been playing this game for a week or so, but we like this one much better!

Top Game of 2017
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never like 3D games. But Mario Odyssey is an exception. Maybe because I am playing it on a handheld/tablet size screen. I played the very first edition of Mario which is from Nintendo back in the 90s. Last Mario game I am into is Super Mario Brother for SNES. After those I have never got back into any of the Mario games. Mario Odyssey really got me back into playing video games again and this game really pack way more stuff than what I expected. The bosses was easy to defeat which I have no problem with. The one great thing I love about this game are that there are no one way to play. Depend on the skill level you are which have to do with control and handling, if you are one of those who can do super jump, you will be able to explore a whole new world behind the scene which I think this is the mater piece of this game's creation. Nintendo really nail this game and I will recommend it to all of my friends.

Modern day Mario 64ish
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great game, hands down. If you loved the old Mario 64 then this is possibly for you. It is does almost all the best parts of what made M64 great. The biggest noticeable differences being 2. The length of the game, it was a tad short but every second getting there was fun, and it has some end game which I wasn’t expecting so you can squeeze more out of it! The second being that if I remember correctly M64 being a bit more fluid. I never felt like I was “changing levels” as much at least as I did in SMO. Where in SMO you definitely felt the jaring effect of changing worlds. In that sense it felt like a modern mixing of M64 with the original SMB and using a pipe to change levels, your pipe instead being replaced by a flying hat ship....ok? Ha! Anyway, smallest of gripes! Don’t let that sway you! This is a great game, don’t expect a sale for this one, so get it as soon as ya can! Don’t miss out on near perfection!

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great new MARIO game it's a throwback to the old super MARIO 64 with enough freshness to keep you very entertained. The controls are fairly easy. You can play the game with the joy con (controllers) attached to the switch. Just pull off the joy cons and put them back on.
