This game is amazing from the start till the....well I’m not done yet because there is so much to do other than just the actual story mode. Little side missions trying to figure out how to collect moons will keep you busy. Any kid/adult would love this.

Best open world Mario since Mario 64...

Not very challenging or groundbreaking IMO, but nintendo put together an open world Mario game that is fun to play for all ages, without becoming too redundant. Being able to "possess" different enemies/creatures/objects in each area, and make use of their unique abilities, helps keep the game fresh and makes exploring each area more enjoyable. My only real complaints would be that much of the control mechanics appear to be built around the motion controls, while the traditional control alternatives seem to have been implemented as an afterthought, making some of the new "cap" mechanics impractical... so, playing in handheld mode can be a little bit limiting, unless you don't mind shaking your system all around. Overall, a solid game.

It feels a touch ridiculous to even bother reviewing this game, since it has received nothing but adoration from the press. Still, I think it's worth adding my 2 cents: if you enjoy the simple act of moving a character through a 3D space, this game will be perfect for you. It surprises with new, inherently fun and tightly designed challenges at every opportunity. It avoids being off-putting for newcomers by teaching the basic well and permitting a player to proceed through the main game by obtaining only a small number of collectibles in each area; more 'hardcore' players will find quite a bit of depth, though, as they keep coming back for the harder goals. The game even has a hidden 'achievement' system that tracks when the player has accomplished specific tasks. All in all, it's one of the best entries in one of the game medium's most reliable franchises.

It is a very entertaining game, it reminded me of my childhood and I shared it with my son, it is very simple and I love the ways you have to think to continue in the game

Very fun game with a equally fun concept. It's definitely Mario 64-esque (which, spoiler alert, this game pays ode to). The only thing I would say is the ease of this game. I finished the story pretty quickly. Other than that, a great game nonetheless.

One of the best Mario games to date. My 5 and 6 year old kids have been playing this title for a few months and never seem to get bored.

I’m not a huge Nintendo fanboy but I have played most of the Mario game going back to the first Mario Bros. Mario Galaxy was the last one I played before Odyssey and this games is special, gameplay is super fun. Nintendo really knows how to make games.

This game is amazingly fun. If you enjoyed Super Mario Galaxy then I definitely recommend getting this game. The graphics are crispy clean and I love the many options you can play the game (pro-controler, joy-cons, & handheld).

Nintendo does it again, while Sony and Microsoft are busy with their console war, Nintendo swoops in and steals the show with the Switch platform. Mario Odyssey is a great game, very entertaining and challenging, I can play it for hours at a time.

Really fun! This is the first Mario game that I have loved since playing Mario 3D world. There is a lot of game play. Once you beat the storyline you can go back and keep playing to unlock more.

Nintendo has another winner in it's gaming stable! With lush graphics and superb gameplay, Mario's Odyssey is both addictive and challenging. The many offerings in the game, whether it's finding stars or coins will keep you busy for hours!

Love this game, great graphics and levels. Great story line, the only reason I cannot give it a 5 stars is because I feel a bit letdown on the supposed 2 player capability. Let's face it I do not want to be the hat, I want to be Mario. I was expecting it to br like Super Mario World or at least super Mario Bros in terms of multiplayers but here you get to be Mario or the Hat. Supposedly once you unlock certain levels there is a co-op/multiplayer challenge level. Have not gotten that far. So know it is super fun to play but it is not a true 2 player game.

I purchased the game for myself for Christmas. It is sooo much fun. My favorite part is so much of the original Mario context is included. Brings back all my childhood memories. I truly enjoy playing this game. So worth the purchase!!!

If you always liked Mario trying new things well this is one of the way to go. It's all fun around for kids and adults to enjoy Mario in new ways and game play. Can say it enough but Mario games brings back the old days of Nintendo games of days past.

This game is fairly easy but loads of fun. The controls take some getting use to but once you understand them you can go everywhere without transforming. There's also moons that you can't get on your first playthrough and you'll want to play it again.

    Best Mario game since Sunshine

I grew up with Super Mario Sunshine and that game has always had a special place in my heart. The charming world building, challenging puzzles, and variety of easter eggs kept it interesting and provided tons of replayability. Odyssey follows the same structure, but has many more features and charms of its own. The puzzles are fun, and the ability to possess other creatures constantly adds new methods of reaching places. The game makes you work for it if you're a completionist and that makes it all the more satisfying when you discover another moon hidden away, but it also doesn't force you to track down every single item in the game. If you're more interested in the storyline, you can easily bypass the more difficult challenges and move on. It's a great partnership of a platformer and an open world RPG, and I think anybody would have a blast playing it.
