2nd best Mario for me
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is completely awesome! My number 1 for the Mario series is Mario 64. This one though adds elements only a recent game could accommodate. Tons of challenging moons to try to obtain. Hours of great fun! Definitely recommend

Great game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a lot of fun with this game, not very difficult but very entertaining. I completed the game within a day but I am still missing over 700 moons so a lot to be explored

Can't go wrong with this one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Honestly an outstanding game in every sense of the word. It's family friendly, with low barrier to entry (meaning easy to play), but the game has so much to explore and find with an engaging and entertaining story. Arguably the best game available on the Switch (this or Zelda)

An Absolute Necessity for a Switch Owner
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you own a Switch, and do not own this game, you are making a mistake. Mario Odyssey is one of the greatest games ever made, distilling pure fun into every fiber of its package. Getting nearly everything in the game took around 35 hours for me, and I am a fairly advanced player.

Great game for getting back into Mario
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll be honest, the last Mario game I played was on the Nintendo 64. I'm embarrassed to admit that around that time I bought into the hype that it was the hardware specs and the graphics that defined a good gaming experience, but have come back around to understanding that graphics aren't everything, the game needs to be fun. And this game definitely is fun, and that it is visually stunning is an added bonus. The mechanics with Cappy are unique and I appreciate the new take on game play. I appreciate that there is the option to use motion control, but that it isn't required. The puzzle solving is challenging without being artificially frustrating (there is nothing worse than something that has been made hard simply for the sake of being hard, so far the challenge all seems natural to the game mechanics and story telling). And, at the end of the day, I'll be honest, who doesn't love to be able to possess the enemies and use them against themselves.

Throw Your Hat at Everything
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like many before has said, this is nostalgia crack for anyone who loved Super Mario on n64. When I first started playing, I was a giddy 10 year old again doing back flips and ground stomps with Mario. I had the one for the Wii, and I know you could use two controller/hands features , but I don't remember why or to what extension it was. Throwing the cap with the controll on the switch feels much more natural. When they say you can possess things and throw your cap at everything, they do mean everything. It will either bust through something, kill a baddie, or possess a baddy. The only minor downside I see is the outfit aspect of the game. All fine and good that you don't have to buy anything with real money to deck out mario in accessories. But I wish certain outfits gave Mario abilities - like the different suits you could get after finding the different colored blocks in N64. I just think it would make collecting all the purple coins more meaningful

Odyssey met expectations and above
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario Odyssey is a game that any type of player can enjoy, such as speed runners, and casual, etc. Even though the main campaign may seem short to some, the post game has much more to offer than the campaign. In addition the box art for this game is fantastic and appealing.

Definite hit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been playing Super Mario games since the original NES and this game is possibly the best one to date. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is very easy and game itself has lots of adventures to get immersed in. I would highly recommend. It's fun for players of all ages.

A Mario Game That Feels Like A Sandbox
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For parents who don’t play games: A sandbox game is a game that gives you the freedom to do whatever it is you’d like whenever you’d like. This game is good for children of all ages due to its Assist Mode, helping them (or parents without gaming experience) find their way with helpful blue arrows. Review: Super Mario Odyssey manages to keep the same feel as every other Mario you’ve played (since N64) without the glorified loading screens. The game focuses on saving Peach from Bowser by powering up the spaceship Odyssey with moons from each kingdom. Which moons you collect is entirely your choice. The story is good and the visuals are awesome. Single-player is my preferred method but you can play two-player, each player using one of the Joy-Cons. If you’re looking for a two-player game that allows both players freedom, don’t buy this. Player Two has control over Cappy and relies heavily on Player One to move around the kingdoms.

A must-play for almost everyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most gamers already know whether they like Mario games. If you dislike them, then Mario Odyssey won't change your mind. But if you do like them, then you can rest assured that this one is as great as any of the others. It doesn't quite live up to the insane hype around it, but it is still very good. This is the same style of cartoony 3d-platforming collect-a-thon as Mario 64 and the Galaxy games. The main storyline takes around 15-20 hours if you play at a normal pace, and it's fairly easy for the most part. However, there is a huge amount of post-game content that you unlock after that, and some of it is quite challenging. No DLC or microtransactions here...you can unlock everything without pulling out your wallet again. There are only a few real flaws in Odyssey, and none of them are very bad. If you're on the fence about this game, then I would recommend you give it a try. It's my #2 favorite Switch game behind only Breath of the Wild.

Best 3D Mario Game to Date
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed the Wii 3D mario games in Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Then, with Mario 3d World it kinda went downhill. However, I really enjoyed this entry in the series. It takes some of the excitement of surreal worlds and grounds them a little bit, bringing Mario into some of the most "realistic" worlds yet. Having already completed the main storyline, it is in traditional Mario fashion, no deviation from the status quo. For me, however, Mario games are more about the creative gameplay and boss battles than the actual storyline or cut scenes like in other video games. After completing the story, there is still so much exploring to do! I spent a solid two hours on one world alone trying to gather the power stars, and I was nowhere near close to collecting all of the stars there. Every single star seems to be creatively placed in its location; nothing seems to be by chance, but instead intentional. Overall, would definitely recommend.

Top Game of 2017
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never like 3D games. But Mario Odyssey is an exception. Maybe because I am playing it on a handheld/tablet size screen. I played the very first edition of Mario which is from Nintendo back in the 90s. Last Mario game I am into is Super Mario Brother for SNES. After those I have never got back into any of the Mario games. Mario Odyssey really got me back into playing video games again and this game really pack way more stuff than what I expected. The bosses was easy to defeat which I have no problem with. The one great thing I love about this game are that there are no one way to play. Depend on the skill level you are which have to do with control and handling, if you are one of those who can do super jump, you will be able to explore a whole new world behind the scene which I think this is the mater piece of this game's creation. Nintendo really nail this game and I will recommend it to all of my friends.

Great Game!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best puzzle adventures games I have played.. It is currently the second game I have played on the switch. It looks amazing graphically and fun for all groups of people. 2 player is suprisingly satisfactory as Mario Galaxy on the Wii always felt lacking in that.

Just a great time!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game brings me back to my childhood, keeping a huge smile on my face the whole time you are playing. The main game takes about 15-20 hours, but the best part of the game is after the credits roll. There is so much to do I can see myself playing this game for months.

Like old times
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Want to feel like you over at your friends house playing N64 again? Perfect. The game is easy going but also challenging enough to not get bored. The hat throw is a lot of fun and almost limitless power ( threw it on a T. rex!) a lot of fun for adults and kids alike.

A must own title for 2017
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario Odyssey brings back the awe and grandure of a 3D free-roaming exploration platform game in the same vein as Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. While the latter game did have its moments, it never completely gave that complete sense of discovery that the former title did; after all, it's hard to top one of the most revolutionary games of all time. Super Mario Odyssey feels like the proper follow up to Super Mario 64 itself, featuring a new mechanic in the form of Cappy, who doubles as your hat-turned-platform as well as a means to posses enemies. Once "captured", you gain control of their abilities and new traversal options open up within the world. Without giving too much away, there is more to this platformer than just collecting its 3-digit spanning "Moons": Each corner turns a new experience to behold, moments that can only be expressed as pure joy when you play. A definitive Game of the Year.

Love this game!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LOVE THIS GAME!! If you like Mario then you will want to get this game. It was fun to play and check out all of the new worlds and creations. There is a lot of hidden things and many little mini games and challenges. I highly recommend this game. Cappy is a nice new twist too and the tricks with him are pretty cool. I really like the addition of the old school 2D Mario play during the game as well. That was a pretty cool idea to add. Thought it was funny that even his new clothes/outfits were brought into the 2D. I have not tried the amibo play option yet, but I would expect it to be cool as well. Overall, depending on your skill level I guess, it is a fairly easy game to play and conquer but yet has some nice challenges to it.
