AMAZING game! Super Mario Odyssey so much different than other Mario games, has tons of fun (and intense) twists in the story, not to mention it’s HUGE, which makes the fun never end! I’d recommend this game to everyone who loves Nintendo!

This game has so much content I'm still playing it 2 years later! Controls are perfect and the camera is excellent. The levels are gorgeous and inviting!

this game is loads of fun and honeslty one of my best memories in my years having a switch. it runs super well, has so many creative elements, and super fun movement. 100%ing and getting the golden odyssey sail is one of my best memories on switch.

This is a fun game, may be challenging for some kids, but has all the classic elements of Super Mario platforming from both 2D and 3D games. It took a lot less time to play through than Zelda or Borderlands, but is fun and you still get a lot of exploring and discovery elements. My kids are playing it now, a few years after I did, and some parts are fun to discover again. Wish they would make a sequel, and wish it had some split screen multiplayer.

Playing for the first time on Switch 2. Pretty enjoyable, overall experience was great. Would recommend.

I haven't gotten really invested in a Mario game in some time, but this one easily captured my attention (thanks in part to the theme song). The best part about a game like this (due not only to it being on the Switch, but also due to the game's design) is that it can be enjoyed in short spurts as well as longer sessions - either way, it is just pure fun. I've also been able to put the game down for some time while I go back to the other games, and then come back to it without feeling lost or any less amazed by how much fun it is to play. Those are two big selling points for me, given the amount of high quality games to play and other demands on time.

This is an excellent follow-up to Super Mario 64: a 3D-style exploration-based action game that has large levels without a time limit. Beautiful graphics and fun gameplay. Highly recommended.

Downloaded without any problems! I love how the digital versions are available usually within an hour or so after purchase. It makes it super convenient for the very last minute gift ideas. Forward the digital copy their email and - done.

Before release, this game was being paired with the likes of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine giving it some pretty high expectations form the get go. So how is it? I's fantastic. I haven't been this excited for a Mario game in quite some time despite playing all of the more recent titles. Truly unique Mario games like this only come around every few years with the last being Super Mario Galaxy 2, before that the first Galaxy, and before that, Super Mario Sunshine. Odyssey is a necessity whether you are a casual player, a parent looking for this year's big gift, or a hardcore veteran such as myself. Odyssey is THE Mario game to own this generation.

This is a great addition to the Super Mario series! The gameplay is fun and entertaining while not being ridiculously difficult. This is the best game on Switch in my opinion.

I really, really wanted to give this five stars! I truly did! This is what a Mario game should be, but with a new twist. The villains are Rabits. Strange, but it works. They’re working for Mario’s main nemisis, yes we don’t even need to name him. He’s back, and per usual as kidnapped the princess. The plot jolts around them trying to steal mystical wedding artifacts to magically force the princess to marry him. Mario, and his new cap sidekick must stop them. It was a new and cute idea, but stuck close enough to the Mario we all know and love that it didn’t take away from the game one bit. It even has mid level mini worlds in old 8 bit Nintendo Mario levels to throw you back to the 80’s! It was truly a blast! The reason I can’t give this five stars is the fact Switch is basically advertised for multiplayer use as it’s main feature for on the go. So they attempted to make it multiplayer. In doing so, you think they’d add Luigi, right? No. It’s Super Mario, not Mario Brothers. So the second player is the hat. It doesn’t work. I tried multiplayer with someone who loves to play multiplayer, but the hat was such a useless “playable” character (and even calling it playable in multiplayer is kind of a joke) that she refused to play it any more after one level. It was a terrible experience. If you are looking for multiplayer games, don’t waste your money. If you’re okay with single play, it is 100% worth it! No go jump on a turtle!

This might be one of my favorite Mario games of all time. I find it challenging after you beat the game and there is some replay value to it. I would recommend this game.

Super Mario Odyssey is arguably one of the best games on the Switch. If it weren't for Zelda, there would be no question! It has a number of worlds and a lot of replayability after you finish the main story to collect all of the hidden moons. You can even play through two players, one person in control of Mario and one in control of Cappy, his companion that helps him on his journey. Cappy allows you to 'take control' of most enemies and use their abilities to traverse each level, which makes for one of the more interesting new ideas in recent Mario games. It's a blast to play and well worth the price.

Super fun platforming game. With great controls, fun levels, and so much do, it’s a great value for sure!

Wonderful controls and level design with lots of creativity and Nostalgia to boot

One of the best Mario games that I can think of. I actually purchased this when it launched and I bought the physical edition. I just purchased the digital version when it was on sale for $40 so I can safely store the game card from getting lost by my two girls who tend to lose things easily.

This is 1 of the few staple games every switch owner should have in their collection. I have played nearly every Mario game since the first (i did miss a few on the gamecube). This has to be one of the best. ofcourse mario 64 is the best. but if that is the kind of game you enjoyed in the past, this will bring back all the same feelings. and if you are new the the series, this will show you what its all about!. other staple games you should own: mario party mario kart zelda

Another masterpiece in the franchise and a must play for any self respecting gamer. My only complaint is the forced motion controls.

Personally I would put BOTW and Mario Odyssey pretty much at a tie for must own game on the Nintendo Switch, but Mario Odyssey only slightly beats it out just because this is a game where anyone can pick it up and play. Not only that but they will love this game! Everything about this game is amazing. Music, art design, characters, game play. You are never bored! It is easy enough for beginners but there are some very difficult levels for the more experienced.
