While i am a huge fan of Super Mario 64 and saw TONS of references, inspirations, and throwbacks to that game, i just didn't feel this one as much as i did other Mario games. It's a good Mario game but, i just didn't understand why people were giving it 100% perfect scores. In other words, it felt overrated. People put it up on a perfect pedestal and when i finally got my hands on it, it was great but i didn't see the perfect thing that everyone else was talking about. Maybe i was spoiled and overhyped by everyone, but i ended up selling this. Even so, i still wanna go back and play it so i may end up buying it again. I just wish i hadn't run into so many reviews. If you go into this realizing what Mario is, and how the story is almost always the same, and not expect more than to have fun as Mario, you'll love it.

There's not much to add to all the other glowing reviews, other than this is easily one of the best Mario games ever released. I've beaten the game and collected about 2/3 of the total number of power moons at this point ... and I still enjoy playing it. If you have a Switch, this is an essential purchase. If you have kids, use the 2 player mode to include them! (They can control Cappy, which is actually pretty useful in some places.)

A feel good adventure perfect for anyone of any age. Not difficult but still a challenge in spots.

This game never ceased to amaze! Not only did I enjoy all the new thrills that Nintendo put into this little cart, but there were several throwbacks and moments that hearkened back to classic gameplay experiences that made me remember why I became a fan of the red plumber in first place! This truly is a Nintendo masterpiece! Any Switch owner would be doing themselves a disservice if they don't own Mario Odyssey!

What can be said about Mario Odyssey that hasn't already been said? It's a fantastic return to the open-world gameplay style of Super Mario 64/Sunshine, with excellent play control, colorful visuals, and an amazing soundtrack. The game provides a decent challenge for casual fans, while the post game will challenge even the hardest of core Mario fanatics. If you own a Switch, this belongs in your game library.

as good as this game is; the joy of the game seems to end once you complete the main story-line. it is just too easy to collect the amount of power moons needed to finish the story-line of the game. at least Nintendo put 500+ power moons in the game for you to collect. one of my biggest problems with the game is that cappy is required to attack enemy unless you want to jump on them. i am disappointed that the removed Mario's ability to punch and kick an enemy like he used to in super Mario 64. maybe Nintendo will update the game so Mario can attack enemies without the help of cappy. at least Nintendo allows us to play with the pro controller instead of the joy-cons. unlike with super Mario galaxy where they forced you to play with the Wii remotes without an option of using a traditional controller.

This is so different than any other mario games I have played. Even after finishing the game there are things that I can still do in game(like getting all the moons). This game is also for two players , but it's kinda hard to play for two players because one needs to know how to properly control cappy and the other needs to know how to control mario.

Playing this out a huge smile on my face when it did came out. This is my second time purchasing this to bless my nephews this Christmas as their mom and dad just got them a they’re own switch for Christmas. Hopefully we get a sequel this console generation

Addicting, classic Mario. I can't say much here that hasn't already been said, so I'll just say that I haven't had this much fun with a Mario game since Mario 64. The mechanics are wonderful, and it's just pure fun to play this from the first time you turn it on, and the excitement never ends until the final scenes. Way to go, Team Mario.

Bought this for my sister & she loves it. The graphics are great & the game has a lot to offer so you don’t just fly through it & finish it quick!

As usual Nintendo has crafted another quality entry in the Mario series. I really enjoyed 3D World on the Wii U, but this one really blew the doors off. There is literally 100s of hours of stuff to do. If you haven't played a Mario game in years or this is your first outing with the iconic character this is a great game to start with!

This game does its job and delivers a joyful experience that is full of experimentation and happiness. As a long Nintendo fan you will feel the constant fun that Mario Odyssey delivers and you will finish the game with a smile in your face. That is specially important since games don't deliver that sense of fun and happiness anymore.

This game deserves every 10/10 review it got. Tight controls, beautiful art direction/graphics, crazy gameplay variety, and so much Mario charm. Easily accessible for newcomers while packed with content for veterans and completionists. It is a love letter to anyone who has ever played a Mario game and the best Mario game in 10 years.

Super Mario Odyssey is a great exploration game, perfect for adults looking to have a good time and great for kids.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for another because I enjoyed this game a lot. I think it’s the best game on the switch. The only downside is the story could be longer. Better than BOTW.

finally a game that isn't a over priced android phone game. I was totally p*ssed off that this was a glorified over priced android tablet. now other than Zelda we have a game to be proud of and that's very fun to play. the graphics although not pc or xbox or ps4 caliber are adequate as this game is great fun.
