I've been playing Mario games since before the NES arrived in America. I can tell you, if you liked Mario 64, you'll love Odyssey!!! This game is awesome!!! The whole family plays, some more than others. The wife loves it, she probably plays the most...I just watch. lol! Colorful, challenging, super fun! A MUST BUY IF YOU OWN A SWITCH.

This game is by far the best Super Mario game that I have ever played. As in previous Super Mario games, your goal is to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser. Though that is probably where similarity ends. In this installment, the stages (or world) are relatively open and encourage exploration. Each world also have its unique "coin" that you can use to buy different outfit for Mario. The game is also very forgiving in terms of difficulty. Online previous games where you have limited lives (and you gain extra one by collecting 100 coins or green mushroom), in this game you only lose 10 coins each time you die. Another interesting thing about Odyssey is the fact that you can also play with your friend in two player mode where you each will take control of Mario and Cappy. Though, the player playing as Cappy will have limited movement. I think that it is a little bit more difficult to play than single player because of the camera angle. The game will keep you occupied for months. There are a lot of things to collect even after you finish the main story. Much like Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey is a must buy for all Nintendo Switch owners.

Possibly the best Mario game ever made, this game blends seamlessly the open, 3D environment exploration that hearkens back to Super Mario 64. The game is a great blend of challenging and easy that makes it great for players of all ages. Everything comes together to form a very excellent game that is through it all just plain FUN.

I've been playing Mario games since the very beginning, so I like to think I know a thing or two about them. Super Mario Odyssey may well be the best 3D Mario game ever made, and it's in my personal top 3 Mario games of all time. While the game is - as expected - family friendly, it provides layers of challenges for players of all ages. Some of the (optional) tasks in the game are outright hair-tearing, for only the most skilled players, but that's part of what achievement is all about! However, while the game is designed to appeal to everyone, Nintendo took the time to add some extra nods to long-time fans, not only in the worlds and the critters/characters you happen across, but through set pieces and a spectacular mid-game musical number that old-timers like me have to appreciate.

It is a mario game. If you like other full 3d (not 3d world\land) this is a good game. You should play it. It felt a bit short, but that could just be me. Maybe wait for a sale, because it is a bit expensive.

This game is so much fun and a total blast to play through. There is so much to do. So you can play for hours among hours. And it doesn't have a difficulty spike it can be really easy for everyone or if you are really good at the game you can blow through with short cuts and tricks completely making a different kind of experience.

While, IMO, no Mario game will ever surpass Super Mario 3, Super Mario 64 was mightly close and this game exceeds that one! Great gaphics, lots of nostalgia but also plenty of ingenuity! Get this game if you have a Switch (I am guessing you probably already did if you do indeed have one)

Ok, so I've been a loyal Mario fan / enthusiast since his conception and this is by far the best. Easiest enough to be fun, challenging enough to keep my interest, and long enough to justify the price. The graphics, I'm happy to report, are outstanding! This a the new Zelda for switch are my favorite games on this console thusfar.

This is probably my favorite Mario title of all time. It has great game play and everything about this game is just charming. If you were a fan of Mario 64, this is basically that with everything turned way up. If you're looking to 100% this title and do it without a guide, you have a huge amount of game ahead of you.

I haven't had this much fun playing a video game in ages. My daughter and I have been playing this a ton and its fun to see her discover areas and moons I hadnt and vice versa. The assist mode is perfect for her because its like training wheels she can use to get familar with how a open world game works. 10 out of 10 all the way.

Very fun game to play for all ages. I could not put this down. Graphics and worlds look amazing. This game encourages exploring and it is very rewarding when you do. Cappy is a welcome addition and I feel I will have a hard time adjusting if future Mario games do not include him. Highly recommended for all Switch owners.

This game alone justifies the purchase of the Nintendo Switch. This is Mario at his best. As a long time Mario Bros. fan it will take you back to your younger days and as a new comer; it will give you a taste of classic and modern Mario. The game looks great, sounds great and controls great. Another awesome job by Nintendo

My 6 year old loves this game. It's a fun game to play at any time. It's great to know when you are down with the story mode you can continuing playing. I enjoy playing this game my self! Haha. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone. And plus, it's a Mario game! :)

The game is really good, super fun, plays greats, and looks fantastic. The hat mascot really add a new dimensions to the Mario game play, and the different environments are really creative. My only complains are that the camera are kind of wonky sometimes, game is too easy, and it does get a little repetitive after awhile.

The last Mario game I took seriously was Mario 64. I played Galaxy a bit, but it didn't really suck me in. This did the opposite. The Cappy mechanics make running around fun, and the hundreds of moons to collect keep you coming back just to run around and see what you can uncover. The only platformer you really need.

While the story is still just a generic Bowser kidnaps Peach storyline we’re all used to by this point, does anyone play Mario for the story anymore? Which is why all of the charm of this game comes from actually playing it. The controls are as smooth as ever and is probably the best Mario has controlled in a 3D space. The worlds are open and make you want to explore every inch of it. And the game rewards you for doing so. The new capturing mechanic leads to some fun puzzles to solve or some really fun platforming sections. The costumes from the shop are all references to Nintendo and Mario history (for the most part) and all just add to the charm of the game. And the adventure continues even after the story is done, but I won’t say anymore about that here. This game is quite possibly the best 3D Mario game Nintendo has made and it deserves all of the praise it gets. If you like Mario and have a Switch, you owe it to yourself to play this game. It will not disappoint.

The graphics are actually really good for a Nintendo game. They really know what they're doing with stylized art instead of pushing realism. The sound has some of the best original game scores that keep you entertained level to level without ever feeling obnoxious . Mario has lots of fun outfits to collect. Some specific to a level that's purchased with special coins for that level, and some you buy with normal coins you collect through out the game. The game it self has a VAST variety of activities such as collecting moons to power your ship to get to the next level, collecting coins for out fits, finding secretes, winning races, solving puzzles, and possessing just about any creature you encounter. Odyssey makes sure your never too punished by just taking away some coins if you die, and there are plenty of check point/fast travel points all over. Some of my favorite moments are the 2d Mario platformer portions they have sprinkled throughout the game. Mario has basically his entire move set from Mario 64 with did tweaks, changes, and additions of course. Over all this game is a must buy if you own a switch!
