Definitely mario back on track - mix of clever areas, timing / complex moves, and general goodness. Beating the main game is a little on the easy side - only struggled in one or two areas, but finding all moons takes quite a bit of effort and is well worth it. Didn't expect it to suck me in as much as it did!!

It's been a long time since Nintendo has released a Mario game that emphasized exploration over linear challenge courses. Mario Galaxy was a fantastic game but fell short in that regard. Mario Odyssey on the other hand nails the sandbox exploration gameplay perfectly. There's always something new to discover around the corner. The controls are tight and responsive, and you can ignore the less precise motion controls for the most part. Visually the game looks stunning, though a few of the worlds emphasize realism over Mario's signature cartoon aesthetic which I feel hinders the overall cohesion of the art style which could have been even more outstanding if it didn't feel like you had somehow took a wrong turn and wandered into a different game. But perhaps that's the point? Regardless, this is probably one of the best games Nintendo has ever made. No nickle and dime microtransactions or season passes or loot boxes. Just a game that wants to take you on an adventure and have a good time.

Nintendo does it again with one of the biggest releases of the year. A game that boasts beautiful graphics, a great soundtrack, tight controls, and plenty of fun for people looking for casual fun or challenging platforming. Plus, the game being on the Switch means you can play it anywhere. There's no losing!

My wife and I played almost everyday after buying this game. It's strange that you can't use your hands to attack the enemy, but It's fun to use Cappy. Sometimes the game is hard and we die a lot, but it's refreshing to have your lives deducted from money. We're glad we went to the night launch to grab this.

I've played every main series incarnation of Mario and this one takes the cake. The amount of hours and replayability would make this game worth double it's MSRP. The story is amazing but the bulk of the game really happens post game. If you can only get ONE game on the Nintendo Switch... GET THIS GAME.

My son is loving this game can’t seem to let go just long enough to do his shores and it helps me do what I need to get done without having to tend to him keeps him busy loves the characters so colorful

This has all the features of a great Mario game. It has the exploration and collection features of a great Zelda game with the nostalgia of original Mario (NES) and Mario 64, but this is a new and great Mario experience. I've put in about 30 hours so far. One of the single greatest games I've ever played.

We purchased this for our grandson and he loves it, being able to use it as a handheld and also on the big screen keeps him entertained for hours. His mother seems to enjoy it just as much. Easy controls let the younger ones play independent of us contantly having to reset something. Very pleased.

My son really likes the Nintendo switch and this game was a hit!! His older siblings, friends, and we his parents enjoy playing it too! Great graphics! Fun game! It puts a new twist on the original Mario game. Not worried about the content as it is family friendly. Easy to play, but also challenging!

Great game! I haven’t had this much fun with a Mario game since Mario 64. I decided to pick up this game after buying a switch. Definitely recommend. Awesome mechanics, fun story, fun music, all around awesome time.

This is my first Mario game since Super Mario 64. I am really enjoying the game! I like how you don't restart a level every time you find a moon. And some moons are very tricky to find, which is great for replayability and longevity. The graphics are great and the controls are relatively smooth.

Loved this game! So much to do and explore, you really never get bored. Loved it so much that I bought it for my sister! 10/10 would recommend

Mario Odyssey is AMAZING! It has to be hands-down the best mario games thus far. There is so much to do, and once you complete the main story - It feels like such a big accomplishment. Once you finish the storyline, there is still much more to do. I highly recommend this game to everyone of all ages.

If you want something unique, yet a little spark to what you enjoyed through Mario... Mario Odyssey is your choice. Its brought a lot of content to my expectations, and still has so much to grow and enjoy in the game story itself! Definitely for someone who wants a bigger expansion of Mario himself.

3D Mario games are always a big deal, and Super Mario Odyssey is no different. Marking the return of the sand-box style found in earlier installments, this game sets the bar higher than ever as you travel to unique and fun worlds. The hook this time is that Mario's cap lets you control enemy creatures, making for some unique abilities. Though it feels a little odd not having the standard power-ups like fire flowers, it all still feels very Mario. The game looks gorgeous, has great sound and music, and will keep you busy for a long time. The story is your standard fare, but there are so many neat things in the game between the worlds you visit, the enemies and their powers, boss fights, and the scale of the game - it truly feels like Nintendo saves their best ideas for 3D Mario. This is a must-own for the Nintendo Switch, right up there with Breath of the Wild.

One of the best games to play on the Nintendo switch and a must have for the collection. I would recommend this game to anyone looking for something fun and yet still mario nostalgia at its best. Pick this game up you will not be disappointed.

I bought Super Mario Odyssey because my wife always enjoyed Mario games. This one was no different. Conquering all of the different worlds and finding every last power moon was a great experience for us. I honestly enjoyed watching her play the game and only stepping in when she was stuck trying to complete a timed challenge or a series of jumps that she found difficult. This game is not the hardest in the series. You can die(and will die) A LOT - however, there are checkpoints in numerous locations so you never really have to start over(aside from one level WAAAAY at the end). Now if you collect a certain amount of Power Moons you can open additional worlds after you beat the game and these worlds offer a much more difficult experience that will keep those looking for a tougher challenge in toe. Overall a great game, we have beaten the game and the additional worlds(which the last one took me a solid 10 minutes and uses all of your abilities you learn in the game - if you die during this level, you start all over).

This game is mind blowing in how good it is. It’s approach to level design and gameplay is unparalleled. It’s an enormous game with well over 50 hours of content. The music is some of the best In the series. Easily one of the best games on the Nintendo switch. It’s a must have!
