Though somewhat easier to finish the story then classic games overall very entertaining and some novel things to make worth purchasing and the switch platform makes it fun to play anywhere.

Great game to play for all ages simply a good game love everything about it stages and all if you like Mario games you’ll love this one

I absolutely love this game! It was the gateway into my new switch and I couldn’t have been more pleased from how it plays to how it looks to the amount of content. Excellent purchase.

This game is a lot like Mario 64 but with updated graphics and smoother controls. It’s really addicting. There are some unique new worlds. This is definitely a must have for Nintendo fans.

The last Mario game I played was Mario Galaxy on the Wii, and this one is very similar. The great thing about the game are the improved mechanics like using your hat, a few other surprises. So far I'm really enjoying the story and the free roam exploration. The only downside is the 2nd player option isn't really too fun since they only control the hat. Still a fun game overall!

As usual Nintendo knows what they are found. This time around it’s no different! The graphics are great and the story line is wonderful. Recommend it for all Switch owners!

Visually, this is the best the series has ever looked, while the gameplay feels like it's based off of the best parts of Mario 64. While each level has a clearly marked main goal, they're made to lure you off course, letting you go after whatever catches your eye. The main story is designed to be fun for people of any skill level (there is a very helpful Assist Mode that you can use at any time if you're not sure what to do), but the later challenges push you to learn all of Mario's abilities. In particular, if you can learn to use the triple-jump-and-dive-bounce then you can leap across massive gaps or scale almost any wall. If you have a Switch, get this game.

this game is fun and challenging for all ages and it's very simple to get the task done at hand for the bosses. can't get any better with free roaming and random objective to play

This is an interesting twist on a game I’ve lived for decades. Fun and exciting. I like the nods to the older 80 versions here and there. Definitely a lot of fun.

This is definitely a fun game and if you have a switch you need to play it! You can beat it in less than a week, but youre trying to get it to 100% than its gonna be awhile

Controls are great and very easy to understand. Gameplay is diverse and exciting. Extras are ok but the Boss fights are EPIC!!

I am from the old school days of video games. Atari and NES were the first consoles I played on. This is Mario 64 expanded and better graphics. Overall fun to play.

Arguably, this is probably the best solo Mario game on Switch. I hope Nintendo though will release a Princess Peach/Daisy solo game though as my daughter would prefer to play as them instead. Also, I know the Nintendo Switch doesn't do trophies but I think they should incorporate some type of reward in this game for getting all the stars in the levels. From my understanding, there is no rewards for getting all the stars in this game so its just for bragging rights.

love the game! it’s visually stunning & a joy to play. the difficulty is pretty easy, but i still had a great time playing through.

Super Mario Odyssey is the second best game of 2017 and one of the most accessible Mario games of the last fifteen years because its primary "story" is rather easy to complete. Pretty much anyone who has a hankering for some run, jump and capture will have a blast on Mario's odyssey. Better yet, the game opens up to a whole new world of exciting and more difficult challenge when you're done with that. Want to stop there? You can, and you'll feel like you got your money's worth. Want more? Keep going for hours more! Super Mario Odyssey will continue to be a game that sells the Switch for years to come as people come to find it. It really is that good.

Great game! My son loves it. He’s really good at it

It's been a while since I've played a Mario game, but Odyssey is phenomenal. I could barely put it down. The game consistently introduces novel experiences and gameplay mechanics throughout given all the different forms that Mario takes thank to Cappy (the hat). Between that and varied worlds you visit, it's continuous fun. My only nitpick is what motion controls are forced on the player to some degree, but can't say that warrants a reduction in stars... (speaking of which, you'll mostly be collecting moons in this game ^_^ )

We love this game and have been playing it on the switch every day. The gameplay is fun and there is a lot of ground to cover with so many objectives.

This has great reviews for a good reason. It's fun to just sit and play a fun good looking Mario game. It's not very difficult, but there's enough game to keep you busy for a long time.
