This is Mario, at it's core, and it's so fresh and so much fun. If you haven't seen much about this game because you've been living under a rock for the past year, let me break it down. You get into a tussle with Bowser, like usual, but this time your hat gets messed up... You get a replacement hat called Cappy, he gives you the special ability to inhabit other entities... enemies, NPCs, power poles, all kinds of stuff... It's fresh, and fun, and exciting. The level design is fantastic, and the game play doesn't ever really feel "samey" at all. Give it a shot, it's a must have for Switch owners.

I love this game. The more open world feel is great and the game plays so smooth. It looks amazing either in handheld or on a tv. Fun for anyone that loves open world games.

The game was a great throwback to previous mario games mainly the N64 and nes versions. the story was amazing. the only problem was the game was easy throughout the main plot.

Super Mario Odyssey feels like a giant playground packed with all sorts of things to do and discover. I particularly like the lack of a timer and no actual lives to lose (you lose 10 coins and are sent back to a nearby platform or checkpoint should Mario perish). This gives players a chance to try tricky jumps and explore without fear of penalty; it's as if Nintendo wants players to experiment with the environment. The Cappy capture mechanic is a joy and feels right at home with Mario. Super Mario Odyssey is an easy purchase choice for any gamer. It's easily accessible, packed with hours of content, and plays like a dream!

This was a really cool Mario game. This is like a modern Mario64; it looks and plays like a sequel to that game. The only unfortunate part of the game is that it's a little too easy. After coming off of the hype of Breath of the Wild, I was expecting Super Mario Odyssey to be in the same realm, but it just wasn't. It was a good game, but it too easy and didn't blow me away like Breath of the Wild.

Truly one of the best if not THE best Mario game ever. Can’t help but smile while playing the game and just enjoying the smooth controls and the amazing gameplay. 10/10.

Super Mario Odyssey is the Best Mario themed game I have played ever.....and I have played them all ever since Mario Bros on the NES. Super Mario Odyssey gives us the very best graphics and very best gameplay of familiar games like Super Mario 64 and Sunshine but make it even better......with Cappy...Mario's Hat. I absolutely love the Idea I can play with any Switch Playstyle....Joycons Removed, Joycons Connected, ProController......and more. for more Fun a 2nd Player can Join and Play cooperatively as Cappy . Super Mario Odyssey is The Game of The Year..........If you Own a Nintendo Switch then this game is a Must Have.

The most iconic video game character in history makes his return to 3D. This game is a blast and feels like a true follow up to Mario 64. Lots of fun, perfect for the Switch

Mario Odyssey is the best modern 3D platformer, bar none. The level design, controls, game engine and mechanics are unmatched. Highly recommended for fans of the genre.

This game has become my favorite on the Switch. So much fun to just run around and explore, and the universe really comes to life in its own way with every "land" Mario goes to. The "Cappy" mechanic isn't my favorite, but much of the time I do enjoy taking over the other living creatures in the world. Sometimes it just feels a bit forced, but it doesn't completely kill the magic of playing around in the world and getting all those moons, which are sometimes hiding in the most interesting places. Highly recommended and along with Breath of the Wild should be the two first games anyone buys on the Switch.

I am a big super mario bros fan since the first Nintendo and this is one of my favorites. I give props to the creators of this game. They really considered players at all levels with this game and love all the creativity that was put into it, incorporating concepts from the first 2D mario games (even incorporated a small donkey kong section) to the first mario 3D game. The game could be easy for the beginners or hard for the advanced players depending on how the individuals decide to play the game. My wife played straight through the game but i decided to take my time exploring each level from one end to the other.

amazing fun game for all ages that can pick up a controller. amazing graphics in an world where the possibilities are endless . everywhere you look there is a moon to find!

Anyone familiar with Mario Galaxy knows it was a huge hit - and for good reason. Tons of fun and very deep. If you liked Galaxay you will love Odyssey - its the next step.

this is probably the best Mario has ever been. There are mant large levels to explore and collect things.

Less technical than the side scroller, beginner friendly and more about exploring and experimenting. just a great game for many ages.

Odyssey is a game that's hard to put down. Game is simple enough but keeps you engaged. Pacing is nice and there is enough content to keep you playing even if you beat it.

Been playing this game for hours. So much fun so much to do! You just don’t get tired of it. The story line is cute and you just can’t get enough of the game.
