With all the other video-game related accounts I follow on Twitter, I certainly saw many reviews of the game leading up to its release. Almost all of which were perfect or near-perfect. And, while I decided to purchase the game long before I saw any reviews, it is great to see such positive reception to Mario's newest adventure. And, after playing the game for myself, I can say that all the positive reviews that it has received are greatly deserved.

This game is perfection in every detail. From the moving grass to the hidden shrines. it just begs for you to go around everywhere and explore it. You can literally interact with anything, and the environment can also affect that. Most people who are giving low scores haven't played this game, I doubt anyone could not appreciate this. It's a fresh new Legend of Zelda adventure that will captivate you and provide many hours of entertainment.

Having every Mario game released since the original from 1985 I have to say this is one of the most fun entries to date. A new take on Mario in a 3D world. This titles adds a new mechanic of throwing Cappy (your new friend who resembles Mario’s trademark hat) at enemies and then you can control them. With tons of “Moons” to collect through the game this game has plenty to do even after you have finished the main story.

Yo it’s me Mario. This game is much better than I thought effect is the best 3-D Mario game made by Nintendo as of yet. The graphics for the switch up very well done. The controlling could be just a little bit better but easy to get used to. The music and sound is perfect. If you’re a true Mario fan then this is what game you don’t wanna mess. I picked it up on a deal

Super Mario Odyssey is a great open world mario game, simple and easy controls and is like Super Mario 64.

I’m a power moon fiend. Great story and even more fun collecting everything if you’re a conpletionist.

It's so easy to get sucked into this game, and I find myself playing several hours at a time! I love how vibrant the settings are, and there's just so much to explore in each world. One of my favourite things is possessing new enemies and inanimate objects. It keeps the gameplay from ever getting stale. Best one is the dinosaur, of course. Mowing everything down is incredibly satisfying. Definitely recommended for long time and new Mario fans.

I purchased this game for my son, he enjoys playing it..therefore I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

If you're pondering whether or not to indulge in yet another Mario game, stop it right now and buy this. You get to play as Mario T-Rex. Enough said. But if I were to say more, I'd also say that you get to play as Mario Frog and Mario Bullet Bill and Mario Bowser (spoiler alert) and Mario everything else. With Cappy by your side, this adds a much-needed and fun element to an already classic game!! A must buy for all Nintendo Switch-ers.

I have an Xbox 1, 3ds, Nintendo switch, nes classic and snes classic. I mention this because despite having all of those platforms Mario odyssey might be my favorite game to play all year. I play a range of games, from sports to cod, batman to Tetris and have no bias to Nintendo. The game is fun, beautiful, and the concept of taking control of the environment and creatures is so much fun. Do yourself a favor and buy this game right now.

This is a great game for all ages. Easy to pick up the controller without playing any prior Mario games.

What can you say, this is Mario at his best. The game play, the music, the controls all work good.

Nintendo delivers another solid MARIO title with fluid controls, great gameplay, and it’s absolutely fun.

35 y/o here, longtime Nintendo fan. There's only a few games that will keep my attention all the way to the end, and they are mostly developed by Nintendo. I beat the game to the end but after that, there's so much more to do. This is where the game gets "sweaty palm" hard. So good, beautiful graphics, 60 frames per second which means it's really smooth, awesome music. Will go down as an all-time favorite. Too bad it ends at some point.

As a long time Mario fan, Super Mario Odyssey hits all the right spots. It's platforming is solid, it's gameplay is incredibly fun, and the music is simply astounding. Forced motion controls for some things leaves a little to be desired, while I'm not troubled by it, I can see other people who might be, and it can be a pain to shake the switch when playing it in handheld mode. Overall, this game is rather solid and a good contender for GoTY.

Picked up this game for something new on the Switch. Had read good reviews, but wasn't sure what to expect. Gameplay is fun and the story does not feel dull or drawn out. Definitely fun to pick up for small periods at a time and revisit. Lots of fun, definitely would recommend.
