I prefer my Mario games to be 2D side scrollers. The 3D games tend to get boring and repetitive by having you explore a particular area/world searching for hidden objects to progress to the next stage. This game has that same gameplay mechanic. Bowser kidnaps Peach again and this time is planning on marrying her. You’re chasing him around the globe and at each stop you have to find a certain number of moons to power your ship to go on to the next area. There are a lot of things that keep the gameplay fresh. You have a magic hat that allows you to possess various enemies and creatures in the world you’re exploring. There’s also warp pipes that transform to the original 2D Mario. The puzzles can be creative. There are many more moons in each area than you are required to collect so you can spend as much time as you want and pick your own path. Each location has a store where you can trade coins that you collected for various outfits. It’s impossible not to have fun playing this game.

This game takes me back to them younger days, my girls love it too, great graphics, great story.

This game was a X-mas gift for my son. He loves Mario. And this game was must have for him. He loves how the graphics have changed from previous Mario games. He likes how the story line goes, he also likes that they are some parts of the game that are easy while others are a little harder but nothing that cannot be passed. He doesn't like that they make you read through out the game whenever you have to interact with another character.

I am just lost for words. The spirit of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine lives on in this game. It was as if I stepped into a portal to my childhood. I highly recommend the "single joy-con in each hand" motion control scheme. The motions controls feel so intuitive and really enhance the gameplay. Cappy serves as a great sidekick, with his boomerang and capture abilities providing a refreshing take on the classic 3D Mario Mechanics.

This is a very fun Game. Easy for all ages, fun new tricks, definitely recommend this new Mario game!

I’d spent the last 15 hours with a giant grin on my face, and somehow the climax put the perfect surprising and delightful exclamation point on the plumber’s latest adventure. This is another brilliant redefinition of the very platforming genre he helped popularize 30 years ago. And best of all, even with the story complete, Odyssey has so much more fun to offer.

There's not much more I can say that hasn't already been said by actual critics and other users. The game is as much fun as you would expect from a Nintendo title with tons of content. Looks and performs extremely well either in docked or portable mode. In portable mode, the Switch can play this game for at least 2.5 hours before the battery is depleted. Would recommend to any Switch owner as an essential, must have title for the system.

Fun game, still gives you some classic Mario aspects but with a fun twist on the 3D world

My son played this game in demo mode in the best buy store. This is why he fell in love with the switch. The game in full version in better than the demo and has a two player more where both players control the one character that is VERY unique.. my son at 7 loves this game on the switch and even more in hdmi on the big screen.. graphics are terrific and game play is even better!!!
