My seven year old son and I have been playing this game for about a week now. Since it's his winter break, he is allowed to stay up late. Man, oh man. I should not have started playing this. Now, I cannot stop. Any level that is semi-hard, my son gives it to me. After the level, I don't want to give it to him. That's how addicting this game is. It's a must buy for Super Mario fans.

I am a HUGE Mario fan and the company never fails to deliver on newer titles. I love the open world play and it also has some classic play (NES elements) as well which surprised me and made me super happy. It's cool that your cap is the companion in the game, it gives it a new feel to it and makes it fun. Anyways, rambling on...Great game and I definitely recommend it!

I haven't played anything Super Mario since, Smash on 64, and nothing story based since Super Mario Brothers on my Super Nintendo. I had bought a Switch just to play Zelda, but got this game so my dad and I could play together. Well, I ended up playing it all by myself, and am LOVING it. The story line is fun, slightly repetitive, but the different worlds offer awesome variety.

One of the best, if not the best, Mario games I've ever played. Very expansive worlds and this is the only Mario game I've ever seen where you can be a frog jumping around on the moon and running away from a T-Rex...what wacky things were the developers at Nintendo taking??? Haha, highly recommend!

What a great game and love to play and can be have some challengeing quests put still fun

I like this game but sometimes I find it a bit difficult or find myself lost. Definitely a different approach and like nothing I’ve played before. It keeps you busy for awhile and it is a pretty fun game!

Game is easy for kids to play. Loads of fun. You can take the form of a T-Rex.

A birthday gift for my grandson, He was so excited when he opened it. Has been wanting this for awhile.

Super Mario Odyssey is a wonderful addition to the fledgling Switch library. It is a serious Game of the Year contender. The game brings Mario back to the Super Mario 64/Sunshine gameplay but with even more modern Mario refinement. An easy Mario game to get into and have fun with but also incredibly deep to master if you take the time to learn all of Mario's more advanced moveset.

I was really looking forward to this game, and it definitely didn't disappoint! There is so much to do in each "kingdom" as well as so many characters to capture with your new friend 'Cappy'. Great graphics, gameplay, music... I had so much fun with everything. Nintendo is really knocking it out of the park this year with the release of 'Breath of the Wild' and now this masterpiece.

Back in the day, Super Mario games were some of the best titles to play. The NES games were great and Super Mario World for SNES is one of the best games ever made. But then I started to lose interest with Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine on GameCube, and the Super Mario Galaxy games for the Wii. But I'm loving this game! The look and overall game play are fantastic!

I haven't played Mario game for long time (last time I played was mario world for 3DS and it was disappointment) but this Mario is like playing back mario 64 with huge update on the graphic and action which I was hooked in second. This Mario is Good for kids and old gamer like me to get the new but some nostalgic gaming play to have. I strongly recommend this game if you own Switch.

My kids love playing this new Mario game. It's so different from all the other Super Mario games. I've only watched them play, but I'm so impressed with the graphics and the cleverness of the game. It's amazing to me how all this information and graphics are on one little game card. Nintendo should also make a version for the Wii and Wii U for those who don't have a Nintendo Switch.

I didn't know what to expect with this Mario game because I never looked into it. I have just been a huge fan of Mario since I was a kid. This one is definitely different than what I am used too, but in a great way. I love all the changes in the game. You are able to turn into your enemies and use them to beat certain aspects of the levels. I highly recommend giving this one a try.

My favorite Mario game is 3D Land and I haven't played it in years, so my opinion basically means nothing towards this game. I finally got a switch and luckily this game was on sale when I got it. For basically 40 bucks I knew it was a good deal. tldr; it's a good game. Really, it's a great time killer. I'm already 15 hours in and I've got dozens more planned. My gripes with it though, honestly make me think this game is way overhyped. Again, this is a good game, don't get me wrong. Its got some great music and Im glad Nintendo went back to their roots of an open-world type mario game. Its just... In all honesty its not the game for me. The message that I've picked up from everywhere else online is that this game is awesome and anyone who plays it will love it. But I honestly think this is a 3D World type situation. Massive hype when it came out because it was the Mario game of the console, but years later is revealed to be a really good game rather than an astounding one. Maybe this game just isn't for me. And if you love open-world Mario games, you'll love this one. If Super Mario 64 and Sunshine are your jam, and you don't dislike the other Mario games, you'll love this one. But for me personally, and from my experience, this game is a time killer Ill forget about very quickly. This just isn't the Mario game for me. Are you going to like it? If everyone else I've heard play this game is right, then yea, you'll love it. But if you're like me and you prefer Mario's later titles that focus more on side-scrolling, you won't have the absolutely astounding time everyone else seems to be.
