The game is great, the feeling of openess on each kingdom is great. The ability to jump and move is better than before. Though I'm unable to, several people have made jumps that are amazing, and even more amazing is Nintendo did not use negative possibility space. If you can get somewhere, there is likely a moon or coins there. The graphics are crisp and bright. Though there are some tricks to make certain areas look better than they are, for example in New Donk City, far away you will see huge crowds, but when you get up to them they are gone. But these things are basically nitpicks compared to how great the game is. The ability to capture enemies gives you a whole new way to play, and though most of the puzzles are unbelievably easy, but once you get past the "Story" and go back to get all over 900 moons, you are going to get challenges that are -HARD-, All in all this is easily a game could win GOTY.

I’m an on again off again Mario fan. Some games just don’t appeal but this one has been great. I know lots of people luad over Zelda but this game feels a lot more fun to me. Easy to just pick up and play and enough interesting areas and mechanics. You can’t go wrong.

A must own title for 2017

Super Mario Odyssey brings back the awe and grandure of a 3D free-roaming exploration platform game in the same vein as Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. While the latter game did have its moments, it never completely gave that complete sense of discovery that the former title did; after all, it's hard to top one of the most revolutionary games of all time. Super Mario Odyssey feels like the proper follow up to Super Mario 64 itself, featuring a new mechanic in the form of Cappy, who doubles as your hat-turned-platform as well as a means to posses enemies. Once "captured", you gain control of their abilities and new traversal options open up within the world. Without giving too much away, there is more to this platformer than just collecting its 3-digit spanning "Moons": Each corner turns a new experience to behold, moments that can only be expressed as pure joy when you play. A definitive Game of the Year.

This is just such a blast to play. Nothing like a flagship Mario title to get you excited about playing a Nintendo console. I'm a little old school so I can remember getting the NES with the first Super Mario game, then Mario 64 and Galaxy for the Wii. This gives that same level of excitement!

This is one of my favorite games ever played. It’s definitely fun to explore all the hidden things within the worlds. I would only improve the game by making some of the bosses harder or having and easy/hard option for gameplay. Overall a lot of fun for all ages.

Fun mechanics, new enemies, plenty of content. The story isnt better than sunshine but it's on par with galaxy 1. Quick and easy for someone younger or who just wants to beat the story. Other than that, there's a LOT of stuff to do that will take you days to finish.

LOVE THIS GAME!! If you like Mario then you will want to get this game. It was fun to play and check out all of the new worlds and creations. There is a lot of hidden things and many little mini games and challenges. I highly recommend this game. Cappy is a nice new twist too and the tricks with him are pretty cool. I really like the addition of the old school 2D Mario play during the game as well. That was a pretty cool idea to add. Thought it was funny that even his new clothes/outfits were brought into the 2D. I have not tried the amibo play option yet, but I would expect it to be cool as well. Overall, depending on your skill level I guess, it is a fairly easy game to play and conquer but yet has some nice challenges to it.

This is a great evolution of the classic Mario platformer. The worlds are fun to play, and my child loves it. It’s easy enough to get into fast as a casual gamer, and it has enough challenges to be worth playing through repeatedly.

This specific version of Mario is on par with the best ever Mario IMO created and that being Super Mario 64. This game has countless amounts of things to do, in the freelance world of Mario and his Odyssey balloon. I cant seem to want to play any game besides it.

Nintendo hit this out of the ball park. It is fun. It is full of surprises. It isn't that difficult but it just so enjoyable to play. You get the same joy collecting the first moon verses the 35th moon. The amount of exploring is endless. This is the Zelda of Mario.

Finally I have something to play besides Breath of the wild. Bought this and Stardew Valley and I have not been disappointed. This mario felt very much like super mario 64 to me. I loved every minute of it. Still trying to get all the stars but its fun not tedious.

Amazing game, and priced well. I have been playing Mario since 1986 and this is now one of my favorites. The open world is vast and the levels are well made. Definitely recommend to any Mario fans!

The controls are much more responsive than the last few titles, so much that you might be caught off guard on a narrow ledge and fall to your doom. That takes a little bit to get used to, but once you do, you'll be flying around like a pro. The 8-Bit sections are a treat, especially the music for them. There's tons of things hidden pretty much everywhere. Amiibo functionality: OPTIONAL. The Wedding Series; aside the costume unlocks, Bowser is the useful one, pointing out the direction of the Purple Coins with a big glowing circle. You can use it as much as you want, if that's something you'd like. Peach amiibo gives health. Again, virtually unlimited. amiibo can be used once you unlock the Uncle Amiibo for that world. non Wedding Series are used as a hint assist system, on top of Blue Toad & the hint Talkatoo, and a few have costume unlocks, too. You'll want a Waluigi amiibo. Trust me.

This is probably my favorite Mario game to date! I was hesitant trying a new game and spending the money, but my friend and I started it and couldn't stop it! What is so cool about it is the open world concept. You can run around and explore so much!! It's great. Only negative thing I will say is that you can't really play multiplayer with this game with two characters like other games. Technically the game lets one player play Mario and the other the hat, but my friend and I couldn't get that to work out very well. We just ended up taking turns which worked out fine. We would play hours at a time until we got to the end. Even when you beat Bowser there's still more fun! Totally worth the money.

This is, hands down, one of the most entertaining games I’ve ever played. There’s some difficult areas that take me back to Super Mario Sunshine rage quits lol, but I couldn’t be happier. Wide range of ease and difficulty for any player. Highly recommend this game!

This game is one of the best Mario games I have every played! Every world is beautifully crafted and it is fun to explore each world to find every secret. Nintendo has once again outdid themselves. Even after you "beat" the game, there is still so much more to do!

If your still on the fence about whether or not to buy this game or a switch in general. It’s time to get off. This game time and time again has surprised me with its depth and ability to pack vintage Mario aspects into a modern open world rpg. Well worth the buy!

I could go on for days about Mario Odyssey, but the only thing that you need to know is that it is possibly the greatest platforming game of all time. If you remember the feeling you got when you first started playing Mario 64 (if you're as old as I am) then you should know that you will get that seem feeling in the first 30 minutes of Odyssey. The game never stops changing - with the ability to transform into your enemies through your hat (Cappy), every kingdom feels like an entirely new game with new gameplay mechanics. The pick up and play style of the Switch combined with portability means that any time you want to go searching for one the EIGHT HUNDRED moons in the game, you can turn it on and spend 15 minutes collecting and then go right back to what you were doing. This is something that just has to be experienced, and you will be entranced, captivated, and amazed up until the very end.

I have to be honest: The last Super Mario game I really played were Super Mario 64. But this game (I just played 2.5 hours) already convinced me and I am dying to get back home from work and continue playing this masterpiece. It feels like you have been thrown back in time and taking your first steps in Super Mario 64. Okay...it could be possible that there is a little bit of nostalgia that pushes this game from a 9 to a 10. Because it really has its little weak points. For example the controls are sometimes mildly imprecise and circuitous when capturing a bullet. You have to turn the camera before controlling the bullet without problems. But this is some little detail that is forgotten as soon as you jump around the next corner and throw Cappy to fight the next enemies. Long story short: I'm already in love with this game and looking forward to some awesome hours of gameplay.
