When I saw the Switch premier online, this game is what ultimately made me want to buy the system. So far I have around 15 hours of gameplay and it is easily one of my favorite Mario games. If you liked Super Mario Galaxy, then you will most likely enjoy this. The motion controls on the Switch are very smooth and make for an enjoyable experience.

Typically each main Mario 3D platformer is going to be high quality and entertaining to play, but this one does take it to another level. It feels like a clever series of puzzles that you have to look and solve in well designed environments. And they do some very smart things in order to not waste your time, minimal loadtimes, quickly reloading your character, quick travel across a large level. And because the main goal of the game is to find these "moons" hidden throughout the level, you don't jump in and out of "levels". Its all one big level, and when you complete something and get a moon for it, you still continue forward, or in any direction you want. So this lends itself to playing for 15 minutes and accomplishing really quick, or it can become addictive having this treasure hunter mentality, and you could easily play one specific area for 3 to 5 hours. And there's a LOT of content here. And you can choose how MUCH hunting you want to do, or have minimal you just need to do to progress to the end game. And once you "beat" the main story, there's plenty more for you. Very creative, and very satisfying. Look and sounds fantastic. It really is the definition of fun. Its fun almost all the time.

I got a Nintendo Switch as a birthday present to myself, and had already bought this game a week or so prior, so I couldn't wait to hook up the new system and get started in on the game. Not surprisingly, it's great. The controls, the level design, the look of it all is fantastic. Everything you love about Mario plus some new stuff too. Love it!

This is by far, the BEST Mario game ever! It feels like a cross from Galaxy and Sunshine but on steroids!! Its fun, its exciting - its everything that Mario should be and more!! GET THIS GAME if you havent already!! Its definitely worth it. Plus, after you beat it, try to 100% the game - Im sure youll be spending more hours on doing that alone!!

Nintendo continues their streak of Switch success with Super Mario Odyssey. Gone are some familiar Mario mechanics replaced with fresh and clever gameplay elements. While most of the game is easy, the post-game content begins to increase the difficult and challenge players. Great for extended play sessions or for a few minutes here and there.

What a fun adventure. Great game for everyone. A must-buy!

This is my first Switch game, and I must say it's been great so far! Controls are fairly good, although I don't recommend using the detached control option, myself. I like using the controls on the joy-con grip when docked, or on the Switch, undocked. Most of the boss battles are fairly easy. Collecting moons offers hours and hours of gameplay.

The game absolutely a must buy for any Switch owner. It’s super fun and has great humor to go along with it. Playing on the Switch lite is amazing with this game. I’ve had no problems with the smaller screen size and even with the Power Moons that require rumble since there is a screen shake effect now.

I'm not much of a platform fan, but Mario Odyssey is absolutely amazing. Beautiful, engaging, and a total pleasure to play. An instant classic. Yes, some of the motion controls are a little annoying, but the rest of the package is so finely tuned it's hard to find much fault in any of it. Don't hesitate to pick this up. It is worth EVERY penny.

This game is awesome! It truly helped me get out of my shy shell, (I was scared of getting last place) But after practice, i mastered all the tracks & 110% the game! It truly feels like your in the driver's seat playing this game, while i never tried the online mode, i still love this game,

Everyone enjoys power-ups, suits, flowers, stars in Mario games. This games takes that and runs with it with its hat mechanic. I will say that none of the worlds are really memorable, though. Some are graphically well done, some are fun to play, but none really come together like other games in the series. The main knocks about this game are the motion mechanics which never work well and some of them are tied to specific moves like swinging your hat in a circle around you and climbing really fast, faster than mashing the button. None of that spoils the game but it's another stupid oversight by Nintendo and their lust to push motion controls where they don't belong. If you're in the mood for a 3D world mario game this won't disappoint.

Great game that I highly recommend to anyone picking up a Nintendo Switch. A very creative game that allows you to explore many different worlds. For anyone who grew up playing Super Mario games, you will find a lot of call backs that should bring a smile.

The next great Mario game. Fun game with alot of replay value

After not playing Mario for nearly 15 years, this game made it incredibly fun and easy to jump back into. Nintendo did a great job of teaching how me how to play but also gives plenty of freedom to figure out things on my own. The main campaign was relatively short but there are more than enough things to do after finishing to keep me engaged.

This game is a wonderful addition to the amazing list of Mario titles. With the open world feel this game has been making me feel the way I did with Mario 64 when it first came out in 1996. Truly a must-have for any Mario/Nintendo fan. And for newcomers to the IP you will not be disappointed by this game if you enjoy adventure/exploring games.

I had heard good things about this game and was going to originally wait to pick it up because I have a few other games I'm playing right now but since I had some reward zone coupons I decided I'd get it and play it all last weekend while I wait for the Xbox One X. I was not disappointed the reviews are very correct about this game it's simply amazing. My only complaint is the story is kind of on the short side I beat most of the game in two days but when you factor in all the side stuff it makes up for the short story especially if you're a gamer who has to 100% their games. That being said if you're a fan of platformers, grew up on Mario games like I did or want to start off your children on Mario you can't go wrong with Super Mario Odyssey.

My son lost his game so we bought another. He loves this game.
