Best game I have played on Nintendo in years
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is amazing. It's the fun experience from previous Mario games mixed with the freedom of today's free roam games. It's simple and fun for anybody at any age. It has two player as well. If you are just getting a Switch, would highly recommend this game with it for a fun experience.

A must-play for almost everyone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Most gamers already know whether they like Mario games. If you dislike them, then Mario Odyssey won't change your mind. But if you do like them, then you can rest assured that this one is as great as any of the others. It doesn't quite live up to the insane hype around it, but it is still very good. This is the same style of cartoony 3d-platforming collect-a-thon as Mario 64 and the Galaxy games. The main storyline takes around 15-20 hours if you play at a normal pace, and it's fairly easy for the most part. However, there is a huge amount of post-game content that you unlock after that, and some of it is quite challenging. No DLC or microtransactions here...you can unlock everything without pulling out your wallet again. There are only a few real flaws in Odyssey, and none of them are very bad. If you're on the fence about this game, then I would recommend you give it a try. It's my #2 favorite Switch game behind only Breath of the Wild.

Best 3D Mario Game to Date
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoyed the Wii 3D mario games in Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Then, with Mario 3d World it kinda went downhill. However, I really enjoyed this entry in the series. It takes some of the excitement of surreal worlds and grounds them a little bit, bringing Mario into some of the most "realistic" worlds yet. Having already completed the main storyline, it is in traditional Mario fashion, no deviation from the status quo. For me, however, Mario games are more about the creative gameplay and boss battles than the actual storyline or cut scenes like in other video games. After completing the story, there is still so much exploring to do! I spent a solid two hours on one world alone trying to gather the power stars, and I was nowhere near close to collecting all of the stars there. Every single star seems to be creatively placed in its location; nothing seems to be by chance, but instead intentional. Overall, would definitely recommend.

I took advantage if Black Friday and was not disappointed. This game is an early Switch release, but provides loads if fun. Controls are responsive and Marios moves are great fun when holding a joycon in each hand.

Takes me back...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is so fun! I've been enjoying playing with my six year old daughter - we haven't taken it out of the Switch since October. Great level designs, tight controls, all around a wonderful experience. Feels like Mario 64 in terms of being able to explore freely.

Super Fun
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario Odyssey has outstanding game play, story and graphics. The addition of Cappy makes for a new style of game play with plenty of new capabilities. The kingdoms are huge and offer a lot of things to collect such as power moons ,regional coins, outfits and souvenirs. You power up the Odyssey by collecting a minimum number of power moons that allow you to travel. between kingdoms. Each kingdom has plenty of power moons to collect in plain sight while others are hidden or you complete a task or activity. Some warp pipes and doors lead to game fields that range in difficulty. I like that I could decide which I would want to play without sacrificing progress or advancing in the game. This is unlike other Mario games were you could get stuck on a level or not have enough stars to continue beyond. There is even more game play after you defeat Bowser (and it is a lot more relaxing).

Best Mario game I've ever played
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario 64 translated an iconic 2D platformer into a 3D world and redefined what a Nintendo experience could be. Super Mario Odyssey takes that a step further, playing around with the concept of an open world (albeit less so than, say, Skyrim or Breath of the Wild) where Mario can discover power moons just in the course of messing around. Yes, there are mini-bosses to fight; yes, there are puzzles to solve and secrets to discover; but there have also been times when I've gone "I wonder what would happen if I..." and have been rewarded for it. Not because there's a puzzle to solve, but because Odyssey rewards exploration and experimentation in a way no Mario game I've previously played has. I've immensely enjoyed every Mario title since Super Mario World in 1990, so I don't say this idly: Odyssey is the most fun I've ever had with Mario.

Super Mario Does It Again!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this game and how it combines not only a free world experience like Super Mario 64 but It has elements of old school 2D Nintendo Super Mario as well for a touch of nostalgia making it a game for newcomers and veterans of Mario to enjoy! Plenty of replayabilty due to the nearly countless Power Moons on each level to give an extra challenge to players even after completing the main story!

Great Mario Game! A little easier than expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been a fan of Mario games. I've purchased most of them. I have to say this game is awesome. I like that it has more of an open world field with things to explore. Coming from playing Zelda, this game was pretty easy to beat in comparison. Our first run through we were able to beat it with minimal "moons." Then you are able to go back to the worlds and find more moons, and do more challenges. Honestly that's one of my favorite parts because it reminds me of Zelda just a tad. We were adults playing it, with that said, I think it would be challenging for children not used to these games, and a lot of fun. If they have played other Mario Games it will have a similar feel with the controller. We only have tried 2P more once. Both of us didn't like it. I can see cool aspects to it if you get used to it, but it was more annoying for us than helpful.

Very fast
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought Super Mario Odyssey as a digital download from Best Buy and the experience was great. The code was delivered quickly and redeemed with no issues on my Switch. Super convenient not having to wait for shipping, and the price was solid. Game itself is amazing as always. Would definitely buy digital games from Best Buy again.

Next-level Mario 64
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very fun game with a equally fun concept. It's definitely Mario 64-esque (which, spoiler alert, this game pays ode to). The only thing I would say is the ease of this game. I finished the story pretty quickly. Other than that, a great game nonetheless.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game feels really fun until you realize that it isn’t fully open world and each world feels pretty limited. Kinda like a mix between open world and a platformer? Worth playing with kids because it’s easy enough for them to play or assist as Mario’s hat. My 6 year old also likes being able to choose Mario’s outfit.

In Top 3 Mario's game.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a big expectancy for this one. After playing Zelda Breath of the Wild, I was hoping for a big revolution with Mario formula. Mario Odissey wasn't this revolution. It was Nintendo going back to the platformers of the 90s (Banjo KAzooie or Mario 64) with a big bang. And they did a spetacular job. Graphics, music, gameplay. Actually, this is the best controlling Mario ever. It's a bliss to control Mario. My big grip is that Mario Galaxy had a better story and pace. The pace in this game is broken in my opinion. Some time you are going like crazy, than you stop everything to do another map which pace is much slower. And you don't get nothing to prepare yourself for this change. A simple letter from Peach telling something would do wonders. Anyway, I recommend it. It's pretty good, but not amazing 10. Amazing 9.5 is more real.

If you have a switch this is a no-brainer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lat time I played a Mario game was in N64. Then I switch to PS2 and just came back for switch. This game is phenomenal. I thought I will get bored instantly but can't stop playing it. With backwards compatibility we're fortunate to be able to playing on switch 2 too. Very chill game, it's a must to decompress after a long day.
