Incredible!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am just lost for words. The spirit of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine lives on in this game. It was as if I stepped into a portal to my childhood. I highly recommend the "single joy-con in each hand" motion control scheme. The motions controls feel so intuitive and really enhance the gameplay. Cappy serves as a great sidekick, with his boomerang and capture abilities providing a refreshing take on the classic 3D Mario Mechanics. Visually, it is a gorgeous game. It maintains 60 fps consistently in both mobile and docked. There seems to be a variety of different environments in this game, unlike Super Mario Galaxy and Sunshine. While those games followed a common theme, Odyssey takes influence from Super Mario 64 and Super Mario World in that there is a (Spoilers) desert world, ghost world. tropical world, metro world, etc. The music is phenomenal. I recommend that everyone use a headset to truly appreciate it. I had chills running down my spine once I heard the theme from the Switch Presentation Trailer for Odyssey. No other franchise has made as big of an impact on the gaming industry as Mario. He is the Micky Mouse of gaming. This game can be enjoyed by anyone. Enthusiast gamers. Father/Mother playing with his or her kids. Teenagers. Anyone. I had lost faith in Nintendo during the Wii U generation. They have absolutely blown me away with putting out masterpieces such as Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. These 2 games make the Switchh worth it. I must also add that this year has been incredible for gaming. Besides Mario and Zelda, we had Persona 5, Cuphead, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nier, Nioh, Divinity. Instead of debating Game of the Years. We should declare 2017 as the Year of the Games. I hope everyone enjoys these games as much as I have.

Fun for all ages
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being a child of the 80’s I feel like I have grown up with Mario. I will always hold a special place in my heart for the side scrollers of my youth and it excites me they are starting to make a comeback. Sonic has had two side scrolling releases this year, indie games like shovel knight, and even the side scrolling Mario fa games have been fantastic. I was hesitant in buying this as I haven’t found much love for the 3D Mario’s of the past. The controls have often felt off to me. It’s probably a generational thing. Odyssey controls well, is fun, and a game that I can play around my kids. The graphics are the usual well done Nintendo cartoonish style. Not exactly ps4 resolution and level, but good for the switch. There is a lot to do and discover, the worlds and enemies are varied. Worth a buy. My only criticism is that the game isn’t very hard if your not a completionist. That is the enemies are easy and the puzzle solving is kid level, but still enjoyable. The only real difficulty is collecting all the mood.

Super Mario Odyssey lives up to it's predecessors
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was touted as the sequel to Super Mario 64 and it lives up to it. With great controls (aside from the forced use of some motion controls) and huge worlds this game is everything an open Mario should be. I was a little disappointing that they're weren't many challenging levels at the end and overall this is an easy game. I'm hoping that they do a direct sequel like Super Mario Galaxy 2, this game's mechanics are just begging to be expanded.

Best switch game overall
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mario Odessey is a must have switch game along with Zelda, Mario Kart, and Smash Brothers. It is action packed and also packs in some of the nostalgia of Mario in it. I will definitely recommend it as it will give you hours of gameplay and also a vast open world to explore. Do not forget to venture out off the regular path because that is where you find extra coins, fun games, and other valuables. Definitely try it out.

Platforming excellence
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario Odyssey is a fantastic example of why Nintendo is the master of the platformer. They go back to their roots with this title, taking more influence from games focused on item collecting like Banjo Kazooie, while returning to the open level design of Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine. The level designs are brilliant, and the capture abilities introduce a ton of new mechanics and play styles to each level. Probably the best 3D Mario title to date.

Nintendo has no lost their magic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mario Odyssey is just so good and clever in level design. So many interesting locations and new enemies to fight. The new power of taking over enemies replaces the suits from previous Mario's and it it is fine. The graphics are acceptable and serviceable, you can see where they cut corners but it is a full game game on the go and that is awesome in its own right. Please pick it up if you want a great and entertaining game. Worth every penny.

Best Switch Game Out
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario Odyssey is a delightful and captivating addition to the Mario franchise. The game's vibrant and detailed graphics, combined with its creative design and engaging gameplay mechanics, make it a joy to play. Best Mario since Super Mario 64
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One could say a million words about this game because of how amazing and fun it is but I'm just going to quickly say that as a life long Mario fan - This is the best entry to the Super Mario series since Super Mario 64. (And Mario Sunshine on Gamecube is a strong entry but this was that much fun).

Fun Mario adventure game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is surprisingly fun. There are so many iterations of Mario, but this adventure is unique. Graphics and concept are super cool. The adventure game play in the different worlds are really clever. Only downside is that is is a fairly easy game to beat. The "2nd player" capability of Cappy isn't really a multiplayer feature - it's pretty much a single player game with the hat being able to take out some mushrooms. Still fun.

Mario Is Back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought a Switch almost just for this game and its been well worth it. Best Mario I've played in awhile! It's just a blast to play and very easy to pick up. Another reason for buying the Switch was to get my toddler into gaming. The game is very easy for him to start learning the ropes. He plays with some assistance from myself but has already taken down the first couple bosses. Not to mention he loves being able to be a giant dinosaur!

Fantastic Mario Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really impressed with this game. I have been waiting since the day the Switch was released and I am not disappointed. Some areas are pretty difficult but not any of the ones that are necessary to complete the game. There is also an easier mode with directions to help keep young players from getting lost. It took me over 20 hours to play through the main story and I have only collected about 25% of the items so there is plenty more to come.

My 4 Year Old Loves It!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario Odyssey has been a huge hit for my 4 year old. The colorful worlds and fun characters keep him completely engaged, and the gameplay is easy enough for him to enjoy while still offering plenty to explore. He loves discovering new areas, collecting moons, and jumping into each new adventure. It is fun, imaginative, and perfect for young players. Seeing how excited he gets every time he plays makes it worth every penny.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's amazing. The next great Mario adventure had arrived. That's all there is to it..... they really know how to up the Annie at nintendo.... it's a little hard for the little ones to really grasp, so it's probably a good idea to sit with them and assist some of they're 7 years or younger id say... kinda tricky is all. Still super easy to play overall.
