Fantastic Mario Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really impressed with this game. I have been waiting since the day the Switch was released and I am not disappointed. Some areas are pretty difficult but not any of the ones that are necessary to complete the game. There is also an easier mode with directions to help keep young players from getting lost. It took me over 20 hours to play through the main story and I have only collected about 25% of the items so there is plenty more to come.

Fun for all ages!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first glance this game looks like any other 3D Mario game. You can ground pound, triple jump, long jump, etc. The fun actually comes from the new mechanic introduced to this game. Thanks to your new buddy Cappy, Mario is able to actually "borrow" the bodies of the baddies, as well as other things in the environment (cactus, rock, pine tree, etc.). So, what's so interesting about taking control of an enemy's body? Well that's simple, you get to actually use whatever abilities they have! You see that bullet bill? How about flying around and crashing into blocks to reach new areas? Or how about those goomba over there! Try making a goomba tower to get that hard to reach power moon* (*which have replaced stars from Mario 64). The list goes on but I want people to be able to try things out for themselves and be surprised. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone! I love this game as an adult, I can only imagine the reaction I would have if I was a child playing the game. If you were on the fence about buying this game, do yourself a favor and just buy it. You won't regret it. P.S. The story is, once again, bowser kidnaps peach... No award in storytelling or originality, but you won't even care.

A delight
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Mario Odyssey is a must have game for the Switch. It's hard to put down, but easy to play in short bursts and really take advantage of the portability of the console. There's a lot to do, and it all controls relatively well, and has the polish expected of Nintendo. This feels like the return to Mario 64 and Sunshine that I'd personally been wanting for some time, with the Galaxy games not quite scratching that itch for me.

Outstanding!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game was a giant nostalgic punch in the face! I mean that in all the best ways possible! Many things in this game serve as a giant love letter to old Nintendo fans, especially those that played Mario 64. The game has lots of well thought out worlds, and plenty of challenging moons to collect. This is easily one of the best games on the Switch and I highly recommend it to everyone! This game is worth the switch alone!

Absolutely Fantastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo is killing it this year. Great game for kids and adults alike. The controls are perfect for those who want to chain together more difficult and complex moves, or those who just want an easy-going gameplay experience. I can play next to my 5 year old son, and both of us get a similar level of challenge and satisfaction. Looks great in docked on 1080p, upscaled to 4k, and in handheld. 10/10 game of the year contender.

The Greatest Super Mario Game Yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say about this game that hasn't been said already? It's an amazingly beautiful game to look at, easy to learn and understand, but there is so much to explore and collect. Mario is always transforming into something new so the game never gets old. Once you beat it, the fun just started as you can go back and find all sorts of collectibles and coins, etc. It's a great game, I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could!

Challenging and entertaining fun for everyone
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game can be very challenging but it’s definitely a fun game to play. The puzzles are fun to figure out and platforming is still there like the traditional Mario games. The scenery and graphics to each world are very creative.

Excellent game with hours of gameplay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I highly recommend it to any Mario fans as this is, perhaps, the best Mario game I've played so far. In many ways, it reminded me of Super Mario 64 and the joy it feels to explore every new world and see what secrets it has and what it offers. The main difference is that the worlds are much bigger and with far more possibilities due to that new skill of throwing your cap. Not to mention each world has multiple moons to collect (the equivalent of the stars of Super Mario 64). I loved the fact that this game has hours of gameplay: perhaps the main story is short; but there is a lot of additional content and a lot to do post-ending (unlocking new worlds, collecting all the moons, all the purple coins, buying all the items available at all the shops, breaking records for races/challenges, etc - some of which are surprisingly hard). I was playing this game with my partner; and found that not all the times there was a single solution to a puzzle or challenge: he would do things one way and I would do another way and both would work. At times, his method was easier to execute than mine or the other way around; which was actually a fascinating experience. Also, If you've played Mario games from the 8 bit/16 bit era, you'll definitely feel the nostalgia from the old times; as there are multiple moments in the game where there are throwbacks to these previous games. Finally, I can say that this game offers a very pleasant and solid platforming experience which I totally recommend to Mario fans and first-timers to Mario/platforming games.

A fantastic game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nintendo really is on fire this year with zelda and with odyssey. Odyssey plays so well and looks amazing. The controls are great. It's 3D with some 2D elements as well. Nintendo even rewards you for doing things differently. You wanna take a short cut or trying going to a section where your not suppose to? You can. There's so much freedom on how to get or do something. It's a disservice not getting this game
