    Basically Mario Party

The game is fun and I haven't really played one since the N64. I am kind of disappointed that the maps seem so small and you can only choose 10, 15 or 20 turns. I wish you could have more customization. The mini games are fun but I feel like there aren't as many as the old ones either. It seems like the game has been downsized. I will add however that they added this "plaza" area where you can play different modes or mini games but I just really want more in the actual game it's supposed to be.

Such a fun game to play for the entire family! We all enjoy the options of playing the various games together. We’ve played most of the Mario Party games and this one might be the favorite. I would recommend getting this to anyone looking for entertainment for all ages.

Loads of fun! The minigames are incredibly imaginative and the use of the controller haptics adds to the diversity and excitement of play. Great for all ages!

Out of the box the game has many mini-games unlocked for you to play or you can open more by playing the Mario Party mode (board game like). This game can keep family or a group of friends busy for hours. The mini-games can be individual, co-op or teams depending on the type of mini-game.

    Party Time!

Super Mario Party is a great step forward for the franchise. Mario Party 9 and 10 were frowned upon for their car mechanic, but now we are back to classic board game style. The mini games are fun, the pacing keeps the game from dragging on and besides the "party" mode there is a very fun 2v2 mode. Its not perfect (bland items, only 4 maps and some not fun random stars given at the end) but it is still very fun as a party game. If you wanted a Mario Party on Switch then you are bound to enjoy this.

Haven't played a Mario Party since the Wii one, but this one definitely hits the spot and is great for parties and families.

Back to Classic Mario Party... Almost

First of all, if you’re looking for a party game on the Switch, go for this game, it’s great. But if you’re looking for the next best Mario Party and haven’t liked them since Mario Party 8... it’s close. It has fun, varied mini games that take advantage of the Switch. But they’re spread thin across different modes. I really enjoy playing this with friends but otherwise the game is lacking in content. It’s a step in the right direction and I look forward to the next Mario Party game.

This was a really fun game for the kids. I started playing with them after seeing how much fun they were having and for my age, it was really cool and reminded me of back when I had the original Nintendo only with more advance resolution and graphics. Highly recommend if your looking for a fun game to play.

Lots of fun. The game has tons of fun mini games but it could use more maps or make it more obvious how to unlock new maps.

I've played all the Mario Partys and it seems every generation, it gets worse. Pros: -Partner System is an interesting edition, especially when they can participate in minigames. -Some neat random interactions -Good character selection. Cons: -Boards are too small this caused an average a star gained by someone every other round, and it wasn't rare that with your partners, you could traverse nearly the entire board in one round. -Only 4 small boards to choose from. -Boards are very bland, undecorated compared to previous Mario party boards, and mostly uneventful. -Some of the voices of the characters are butchered, what the heck did they do to boo and lakitu?! -Stars are only 10 coins each. -No competition. With stars given out like candy, there is little strategy involved. -Not many diverse minigames, 95% of them are 4 player, there is less than a handful of the others (1v3 and 2v2). -Most minigames seemed winnable with your eyes closed and a simple shake of the controller. -Items in the game are fairly generic. Also, "Item shops" if you want to even call it that, only have three items. -Points awarded from board and minigame play can be spent on...unlocking tutorials. Previous Mario Partys had unique items you could buy and put in a room to display. The game feels incomplete and at best, a decent entry into a handheld Mario Party game, however, the Switch is also a console hybrid, so this feels out of place due to its lack of features.

Purchase was simple and quick, although I did have to seek help in getting the product as it was not on the shelf. Game plays very similarly to previous iterations. Mini-games seem easier somehow. My one warning is that even the shortest "party" game sequence takes close to an hour to complete. The new musical games are a blast and really require you to be much more physically active than you would expect.

Nintendo finally went back to what made the Party games great back in the 90s. Almost every one of the 80 games is a blast to play in 4 player couch co-op. Single player can be fun but it's hard to enjoy it much after having a party with others and going nuts when someone takes the crown from you on a personal level. It might create fights and rivalries, but it's worth it in the end. The extra game modes outside of the board game format are fun, too. Especially the water rafting experience.

I bought this for my wife and I to play. She’s not too into video games, but she’s always liked Mario party. It can be fun for any age. I can’t see it being too enjoyable solo, so I would recommend it only if you have others to play it with.
