This game is so fun. Great for kids or adults. We play this game regularly for game night and have a blast. Brings us right back to our childhoods.

love the different maps and play modes. the ability to have game buddys and being able to play with a partner is awesome. wish more of the games from this edition carried over into the jamboree game that released last year

A lot of fun to play with friends but playing against the CPU, as is tradition with this series, just feels weird. The CPU makes strange choices sometimes no matter the difficulty and you can very quickly be OP with "Allies." That said, playing this game with friends is a blast. The mini games are fun and the game looks and plays great. Nintendo finally made a good Mario Party game worth buying and it is definitely made better by the functionality tied to the Switch. Highly recommend.

I got my siblings to play this game with me so for the majority of the game we were able to play at least 3 to 4 players. this game's over all theme for its mini games revolve around much control. the game has 5 most traditional Mario Party, Co-op Mario Party, raft mode, mini game mode,and completion mode. caught mon consist of a board that you could walk wherever you want it's it's a grid system where you and your either empathy or friend hit a block, add those numbers together and then you could just walk wherever you want more than likely heading to the star if you have enough coins. objective of draft mode is to get to the end before the timer runs out and in order to get more time you complete mini games that are found on the river which start by hitting a balloon. each part of the river sections have different challenges that you have to face and each of the different ways will net you a jewel if you complete all the different sections. completion mode is just a basically all the many games and there's objective that you have to complete in order to go to the next one complete all of those and you'll get another Jewel. some of the things I don't like about the games that prevent me from giving it 5 stars is that each of the maps are small, they are very tiny. Another thing is that there's only 4 maps total, that's it, just 4 board game maps. none of us like how the narrator told us to high five each other Not only was it annoying but it took takes a lot of time away from the game when they keep telling you to do it after every game. Its especially noticeable in the raft game mode. Its a short game but Im guessing nintendo might add dlc later. I still dont understand why they dont add in some other characters from their other franchises. They should really give Mario party the kart or smash bros treatment. Overall we had fun with it and I would recommend this game. Sorry for any typos :)

Received it earlier than expected, which is always a plus. Very fun to play with even two people, but better with three or four. Although I do wish this version had more than four maps :/ but that’s for the developer, not Best Buy! Good purchase, do recommend!!

This is the first good Mario Party game in a long time. It's back to formula, so no more of that ridiculous shared cart! The boards are smaller, but still feel jam-packed with action. The mini-games are more often hits than misses, but 80 is starting to not feel like a lot after about 7 or 8 play-throughs. I will say that solo play is not very good at all. The AI leaves a lot to be desired. Definitely only pick up this game if you plan on playing with friends around your TV. Keep in mind that the online multiplayer is restricted to the mini-game-only modes, so you can't get the full experience online. That's a huge bummer, and in my opinion, completely unacceptable for a multiplayer game launching in 2018. Nintendo keeps dropping the ball in terms of online play. My other big gripe is the lack of content. There are only four boards for the regular game mode, which is pretty disappointing. However, I'm sure we'll get some (hopefully free) DLC in the future. The co-op game mode is super fun, but way too easy even on the hardest difficulty. The rhythm games are ok, but definitely goofy fun with friends. We also tried Toad's Rec Room where you can link two switches together. It's fairly gimmicky, but we found ourselves having a lot of fun with the baseball game. TL;DR Not worth $60 for the amount of content, but the content that IS there is great fun.

This game came out YEARS ago. Did that surprise you parents and grandparents? I can totally see little Dalton asking for Mario Party Superstars for a gift and being disappointed because all his friends got it and you just bought him this game, Super Mario Party. I don't know what the marketing team was thinking making the game titles so similar however, I think both are a must have. This game is more towards the play style that anyone can play and Mario Party Superstars is more button mash heavy and pretty much a remake of 1, 2 and 3 on the N64. This game has a unique multiplayer mode that I think is more diverse for new players and veterens and Nintendo just recently added online for almost every gameplay option! Pick this one up too.

So far loving it. It's very mario themed, with many mini games, but also a board game structure. You can play it as a board game with mulitple people or against the computer. Or just play the mini games. Easy to get into.

Fun game would recommend it to anyone who likes party games

This is a super fun game, I spent part oof Christmas Day playing with with why cousins and their kids and we had a great time, This was on elf the game we played So I had to get it for my self as well. Family easy to play and there are games ion the game. Everyone gets their turn.

This game is super fun, especially when playing with friends and family! You need to be careful though because this game can become like Monopoly and create rifts in families because of star stealing. Overall, it's a somewhat different variant of the typical Mario party games but has a lot of fun value!

I've only played a couple rounds and the game reminds me of the first 2 Mario Party games. Lots of fun and not too complicated. Boards feel smaller so there's always something going on. The fact that you can play on a single nunchuck is plus so that 4 people can play with no issue.

I've played all the Mario Partys and it seems every generation, it gets worse. I watched all the trailers and some of the short gameplays for this game and it looked really good. Needless to say, I was disappointed, and bored after a few rounds. Pros: -Partner System is an interesting edition, especially when they can participate in minigames. -Some neat random interactions -Good character selection. Cons: -Boards are too small this caused an average a star gained by someone every other round, and it wasn't rare that with your partners, you could traverse nearly the entire board in one round. -Only 4 small boards to choose from. -Boards are very bland, undecorated compared to previous Mario party boards, and mostly uneventful. -Some of the voices of the characters are butchered, what the heck did they do to boo and lakitu?! -Stars are only 10 coins each. -No competition. With stars given out like candy, there is little strategy involved. -Not many diverse minigames, 95% of them are 4 player, there is less than a handful of the others (1v3 and 2v2). -Most minigames seemed winnable with your eyes closed and a simple shake of the controller. -Items in the game are fairly generic. Also, "Item shops" if you want to even call it that, only have three items. -Points awarded from board and minigame play can be spent on...unlocking tutorials. Previous Mario Partys had unique items you could buy and put in a room to display. -Limited to using one joycon - I'm a big guy, my hands are huge, I need to be able to use other controllers as well. I found myself hitting multiple buttons at once on accident frequently. -Online is extremely limited and simply not even worth trying at this point. -Can't play in handheld mode The game feels incomplete and at best, a decent entry into a handheld Mario Party game, however, the Switch is also a console hybrid, so this feels out of place due to its lack of features. Even with future updates, this game needs some heavy revamping. This feels like the release of Bomberman R, which was a game released for the Switch that lacked a lot of basic features previous Bomberman games had--they're still trying to patch things up to bring it up to speed a year later! These lazy releases cannot continue to go unnoticed. Hold your coins for Mario Party 12, or at least, a couple months when they (hopefully) release more features and the price goes down.

Really enjoy the minigames and the river survival modes. Good family fun for all ages. Not a super difficult or competitive game, but adults also find it fun (I do). The graphics look great as well, and there's a ton of things to do.

Our family LOVES this game. Although the Switch was mainly for me to play single player adventures such as Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild I had hope there would be a lot of games for my youngest 5 and 6 year old kids to play. Up until this point there hasn't been a lot for them to play at their gaming level...well...really all they've been able to play so far is Mario Kart which they love. However, now that Super Mario Party is out they are able to play extensively and they love playing the game together. This game seems to be very well rounded and both our little ones and teenagers are able to play together. Although the team games are little difficult for the younger kids the older kids really enjoy the strategy of it and it has been a great game for our family to enjoy the last several weeks. If you are looking for a good family game (that may cause some competitive competition) this is a great (almost necessary) game to add to your library. Enjoy!

this game isn’t “fast” enough to maintain the excitement. We played 10 turns at Mario Plaza and the game took about 1 hour. Comparing to Mario Party 1 (MP1), it has more turns for the same timeframe. Myself, wife, brother in law had a lot more fun with MP1 mainly because it was more simple, faster and straight to the point. SMP has new stuff that actually slowed down the pace of the game. Not that we don’t like it but it take getting used to. After playing for an hour, My wife and I honestly give this game a solid 8/10 (1 as worst; 10 as awesome ). We don’t care too much about online gameplay because we knows Nintendo isnt gonna get it done soon for the Switch. Mini games are fun and there are lots of them; some are simple, babyish, intense, fast as quick memory test, for instance. They’re all different than MP1 which is good and refreshing). Nothing too redundant, thanks goodness. I cannot comment for any other feature since I haven’t touch it yet but the bottom line is that Mario Plaza is where the excitement lies, especially with “off-line” local players such as friends, co-workers, significant others, and family members. ***This game is not for solo players***

I always have been a fun of Super Mario and this game is just awesome! My kids love to play and it’s very easy to use. You can play with multiplayer and this is such a nice thing as parents can play with them!

The Mario Party series has always been a favorite in our family. We have every one so far. It is a great way to have the family play together on the switch. We think this version Has taken some of the best elements from past games and brought it together. Highly recommend it

This is a great game. Nintendo decided that the past games with the car were not the right way to continue the series. Which I'm glad they did. This game has the main Mario party mode, four people play for the most stars. A boat game where four people play together. A two player mode where you play together as a team but move separately. A movement based one where everyone has to use a joy-con in certain ways to a beat. There is also a one player mode, filled with challenges. Also a Toad's Rec Room that has multiple mini like games you can play with one switch or two. It has a online mode, but only with mini-games. Not a full Mario party board. All in all, the game is excellent. Only downside is the boards themselves. There is only four boards in the main four player multiplayer mode. Hopefully in the future they will add some more in a DLC or free update. Overall this is the first Mario Party I have liked in a while.
