Depends on what type of gaming you like. I would recommend renting from GameFly first. I was hoping to relive some of my N64 days, and I was ultimately disappointed. I know a lot of people give this game high ratings. Honestly..it has sat in my entertainment center for the last couple months.

    Best Smash gamer so far

Playing this game was been amazing. I sadly never owned the classic nintendo systems, but I bought the wiiu mostly for Smash and I was not disappointed. The game is beautifully made and well designed and offers tons of content and stuff to do. Single player can do classic, and all the events, not to mention the other games. And of course multiplayer smash is great. 8-player smash is chaotic and pretty much the best thing ever. I have the Link Amibro and it's a great add-on for this game and a fun challenge to play against. I wish more gamecube adapters would be released. Playing on other controllers and the gamepad is alright, but still not the same as a GC controller.

Buy this game for the Wii U!!!

YES YES YES!! I've been playing Smash since the N64 days. The craziness hasn't stopped one bit. If you're a hardcore, technical person, you'll find enjoyment. If you're a casual, let's have fun for the sake of having fun, then you'll find enjoyment out of beating up duck hunt dog with little mac, or pummeling Zelda with Link. There's plenty to do with this game, from Smash tour with friends, Classic modes, trophy hoarding, or trying to up your game in training or all-star mode. Enjoy

This was a Christmas gift for the kids and I have to say it was the best purchase EVER! It has great graphics, different fight locations, a variety of moves for each character and several characters to choose from. It's also very entertaining to watch. My husband has really gotten into as well. It's not just fighting. There's also competitive games included. Every night has become video game night at my house! Great buy.

the game is a lot of fun. It's super easy to pick up and play since you only have 4 buttons and four directions to worry about, bot like picking up street fighter and having to learn a thousand different button combinations to be very good at it. The game has a local 8 player mode which is insane. I don't even know where I am on the screen half the time. The graphics are beautiful and the character selection is very broad. My only complaints about the game are the organization of the menus and the difficulty of the boss battles. I haven't tried any of the new modes exclusive to this version of smash, but I wasn't a fan of smash run on the 3ds.

    Top Quality Nintendo Entertainment

Ever since the series first popped up on the Nintendo 64, it made an impact that would gradually increase as the years went on. It's become a staple for every new Nintendo console to have a Smash Bros game, each one better than the last. The Wii U version of Smash Bros has more than enough content to keep you busy, offering different levels of difficulty for casual players to those who consider themselves veterans of the franchise. The amount of unlockables, hidden characters, stages, etc., will undoubtedly take you quite a bit to unlock, along with the challenges, which some will push you to learn more characters than what you normally use. Each character now has custom moves as well, to really keep the game fresh. Most players will likely alter the character to their liking, making a possible mirror match between two Marios, for example, still seem like two completely different characters facing off. With the addition of Amiibos, players can train a CPU to fight and gain experience, quickly going from a barely mobile opponent to an all out force to be reckoned with. The Amiibos can also help gather trophies, custom moves, equipment, and coins for you as well. Overall, even if this is your first Smash Bros game, you couldn't pick a better time to do so. With the sheer amount of things to do within the game, it is a purchase that reminds you of nostalgic characters, and why Nintendo's first party titles deliver and then some.

Another great game for Wii U

Although not much 3rd Party support, the Wii U continues to thrive with the wonderful 1st Party content from Nintendo. SSB is one of those games that you feel you get your money's worth. It is polished, great for groups, and overall just fun. It takes practice and I will say it is a little harder to get into than Mario Kart 8. But after you get used to the controls, it's a blast. You know it's a successful game when you have family from ages 6 to 25 screaming, laughing and smiling. So if you want to experience what a fun game is, then Settle It in Smash.

A great game from a Smash Bros Newbie

I haven't really played much of smash in the past, but I was tempted to pick this up knowing a friend was also picking up a copy. It's great! From a single player perspective there's plenty of gameplay to beat the various modes, unlock characters, etc. From a multiplayer perspective, the online is quite fun and chaotic as usual. This would be a perfect wii u game for the family, as everyone can sit on the couch and play. Plenty of characters for boys and girls alike.. Guaranteed laughs and good family fun.

This is the first version of smash brothers I've played... I am totally hooked (Amiibos and all# . I find this to be a great gaming experience with two to four players # I have the gamecube controller adapter#.This is enough of a reason to buy a wii u... I own all systems #xbox 360,xbox one,ps2 , ps3 and ps4). Smash brothers alone makes me love my wii u so very much... it's great for all ages. You can play in an in depth way or a button masher fun way... something for everyone...

It has been sometime since I played super smash bros. The last one I played was for the gamecube as I never had an original Wii. This game is everything I expected it to be plus more. There is the traditional battles that I was used to as well as many other game modes, adventure modes, and now even 8 player local battles. It is awesome to have everyone be able to play at one time instead of just switching between rounds.

Kids can't stop playing this game

Bought this game as one of 6 Wii U games for my kids' Christmas gift. This is THE game that my kids play everyday or whenver they are allowed. When not allowed to play, they will just talk about the game all day. I won't have to describe what's in the game as everyone already talks about it in detail; instead, I just want to say: be warned, kids will be addicted to this game easily :)
