Customers are saying

Customers admire the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition Controller for its compatibility with both the Switch and GameCube, its nostalgic feel that reminds them of the original GameCube controller, its high-quality construction, and its overall ease of use. While some customers mentioned the need for an adapter, the positive feedback on the controller's compatibility, feel, and quality outweigh this concern.

My child got this as they were very excited to add this along with a new game that’s coming out. When we went to pick the item up, the box was all dented in which was upsetting to her as she likes to collect these items in mint condition.

If you’re really competitive, don’t expect the rubber to last long on the thumbstick. Everything else works great. I have a small hole which exposes the hard plastic underneath. Just beware

I gave this 3 stars because Nindumbdo should've made the original Gamecube controllers backwards compatible with the Switch, but hey it's all about making money.

Although the controller isn't the best quality compared to the originals, it gets the job done and would somewhat recommend it.

Feels like an old 3rd party controller

Bought two of these and they technically function, but they both suck! The plastic feels cheap. The buttons are hard to push. And the sticks drift, but they can't be "reset" like original gamecube controllers by unplugging them, because they work differently for some reason. This makes precise movement very difficult. Overall, these controllers are unresponsive and they feel like a crappy 3rd party controller from back in the day.

I purchased two and one works great! The second may have a faulty “R” button because it sticks.

    C-Stick gave out

To be fair, I’ve had this for almost a year, about 10 or so months. I’ve only used it for Smash Bros. on the Switch, but the c-stick gave out. I suppose it’s possible I might have messed it up, but I’ve been careful with this controller when not using it. Fortunately, I got a protection plan on it, so I’m gonna get a replacement.

I bought this but I cannot use it on the switch in it’s portable mode, only on the docking station. I only play the switch on the go.

A solid controller to play Gamecube games

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The controller is a well made iteration of the classic wired gamecube controller. The build quality is good, and its seems built to last. The controller is compatible with the Gamecube console itself, as well as the Wii and adapters sold for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch. It is a must have if you want to play Gamecube games, many of which used the analog triggers of the controller, something that isn't present in many modern controllers.

I really admire Nintendo's dedication to getting this controller as close as possible to a controller that's been out of production for a while. The only thing that is a bad "different" about this controller is the left stick. It is a bit stiff and much like a 3rd party controller. That's something I really don't understand since nintendo's other controllers (wii u and switch pro controllers) are great. Other than that the matte finish and longer cord is a welcome change to the controller.
