The best Smash Bros. yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm of the opinion that each Super Smash Bros. just keeps getting better and better, and this one is no exception. There's so much attention to detail, it's packed with content, the GameCube controller support is appreciated, and the new characters are simply amazing, especially King K. Rool, Simon Belmont, and Inkling. I'm not really big on the World of Light single-player mode though. I feel like Smash Bros. has yet to make a decent "adventure" mode, although Subspace Emissary in Super Smash Bros. Brawl came close. World of Light is repetitive and not all that fun; I much prefer playing the regular Smash modes and playing online. In any case, if you have a Switch, of course you should buy this.

Well worth it!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I played Super Smash Bros Melee back in the day. Although this is a newer version, I still feel nostalgia when playing. I love the wide array of new characters and I really appreciate that the game creators stay true to their individual fighting styles. Hoping for more of these games in the future!

Great way to get into the series!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Smash Bros Ultimate is a great, 8-player game that can be used to play with your friends, family, or loved ones (or an octopus). The "Smash" mode features many different ways that you can play, whether you prefer timed matches, matches with a set number of lives (or "stocks"), or battles to take down your opponent's HP. You can also mix and match various rules to create your own custom, unique matches as well! The "World of Light" campaign mode is done well as well. While it isn't nearly as deep as I personally would've liked it (not quite as immersive as the story from "Super Smash Bros. Brawl"), it still will give you hours upon hours of gameplay, unlocking various fighters and spirits, and finding and experimenting with cool combos and combinations of fighters/spirits to get the most out of your fighter (which you can use in Online matches (assuming you have spirits enabled for said matches). There are over 70 characters to play as, making it the largest roster in any Smash Bros yet. Whether you like Mario, Pokemon, Zelda, Fire Emblem, Sonic, Kirby, or even series that aren't as well-known; such as Xenoblade, Earthbound, Castlevania, and Kid Icarus (and soon to be Persona 5), there are characters and play styles for everyone!! Pros: - 70+ playable characters. Each with their own unique play style. - 800+ songs in the game (with the option to make your own playlists), so you can listen to your favorite tunes from famous video games. - The Classic mode is fun to do, and the difficulty indicator is very reminiscent to "Kid Icarus: Uprising" (which is, in my opinion, one of the best games for the 3DS). - Campaign mode (over 15 hours of exploration, battles, and experimentation!). - Tons of fun to play with friends and family locally Cons: - CPU on level 9 is much more brutal than other games (though personally I enjoy that, others might not). - Story mode (World of Light) isn't nearly as deep as SSE from "Super Smash Bros Brawl". WoL mostly just sends you on a goose chase to fight characters, with no real plot elements; thus making the story feel extremely lack-luster. - Online mode is horrible. If you plan on playing online for those achievements and to truly 100% the game; don't bother. Unless you have exceptionally good internet and a LAN/ethernet cable right by you, you will experience frame drops so bad that it makes the frame drops in "Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric" look good. It's sad, since one of the charms of the "Super Smash Bros" series is playing online; but currently, the online feature just does not work properly (now, playing LAN or with others in your house works perfectly!). Overall rating: 8.7 / 10

Fun, fast-paced, and great for all ages
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is an amazing game and a lot of fun to play. The gameplay is fast, smooth, and easy to learn, but still challenging enough to keep it interesting. The large character selection is impressive, and each match feels different. It’s perfect for playing with family and friends, especially in multiplayer. Whether you play casually or competitively, this game offers tons of replay value. It’s definitely a must-have for any Nintendo Switch owner

A must have game for Switch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the game for a full week and have pit in 70 hours into the game. I think I'm qualified to give my take on this extraordinary game. With the slogan "Everyone is here" they very well meant it. Every fighter is in it as well as new faces and upcoming DLC that I will talk about in a bit. This is arguably the best in the series and certainly the best looking. The graphics are great and there's no lag issue. Loading times are up to 3 seconds and you're smack dab into a free for all trying to smash your friends onto oblivion. With over 100 stages I find it hard to believe anyone would find them stale. Every character is represented with its own stage as well as music. There are over 800 tracks from all the characters franchises and you can even make a playlist for yourself. Menu looks sleak and clean unlike previous entries. There is an adventure mode where you can pour 20-60 hors in alone and will have you chasing for spirits that enhance your character. With over 70 characters you'll get your money's worth and if you buy it now until January 31st you'll get piranha plant which will be DLC later on.I know we frown upon DLC bit the game feels amazing without it. The DLC is a nice bonus and I know I'll be picking up the Fighters Pass that comes with all the characters. All upcoming DLC characters will come with a stage and soundtrack(s). In this crossover of characters there's no way you'll have buyers remorse. I wish I could give a higher rating for such a well crafted game.

FUN. FUN. FUN
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of those games that just never gets old. The roster is huge, the gameplay feels smooth, and it’s the perfect mix of chaotic and strategic. You can jump in for quick matches with friends or sink a couple hours into unlocking characters without it ever feeling like a grind. It plays great on any Switch model, and it’s easily one of the best party games out there. If you even slightly enjoy fighting games or Nintendo nostalgia, this one’s an easy pick.

Fantastic and polished entry in Smash Bros series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is another great example of exemplary game development by Nintendo. The game is packed with thoughtful attention to detail in every aspect marrying the best parts of every game in the series to date into one gigantic package. The game is easy and fun to pick up and play but difficult to master. The amount of content you get for $60 is something sorely missed in the games industry these days; definitely worth your time and money.

Ultimate Says It All
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Positives: + Fantastic visuals that run at a darn-near bulletproof frame rate + An immensely deep, varied roster of playable characters to choose from + As is series tradition, a wide variety of settings to cater to however you would like to play + The ability to configure your control layout, which is far too rare for a Nintendo developed/published game + Outstanding, huge soundtrack + While not perfect, a better single player mode than the last Smash The Drawbacks: - As a result of bringing back darn near every stage, there's very few new ones - Input buffering occasionally leads to some frustration - The AI on the highest settings is simply infuriating Overview: For most players, this really is the ultimate Smash Bros. game. A huge roster that is actually far more balanced than it has any right to be, tons of stages to play on, an outstanding soundtrack, and really I could go on but I'm not. If you have even the remotest interest in playing this, do it!

My Review.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this and a Nintendo Switch OLED Model for my son for Christmas. My son connected it to our TV and started playing. This game is so much fun. Although all I was doing was mashing buttons, the game was pretty easy to play with a whole lot of other character moves and specials. We played through the night without realizing the time. I highly recommend to anyone young or old.

Super Fun Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My grandson has every Super Smash game made by Nintendo. This one is a really fun game to play. It’s lot harder than the WiiU one but it has a lot more characters and features to it. It’s a learning curve but fun while trying to figure it out. (Im sure I will do that someday) I’m sure anyone would love this game.
