Bought this game as a Christmas gift to my 14 year old son. He is very happy and is enjoying playing

I bought this for my son’s birthday and he loves it. He has been playing it nonstop. I would highly recommend this game for Nintendo fans of all ages.

Loving the new smash! Got a Nintendo Switch console purely for this game and not regretting it one bit! Perfect to play with friends or in your own. Cool new dynamics like spirits, training, and amibo compatibility. Less of a story mode than Super Smash Bros Brawl, but still an overarching story in the single player Spirits mode. Got it at the early 11pm release some Best Buy’s did and got a $10 Best Buy reward for pre-ordering!

Who doesn’t love Super Mario Bros?! I’ve always loved this game and glad it’s out again as an adult!

For multiplayer? You can't go wrong. Any longtime fan of the Smash Bros. series will find a great time to be had with the expansive (and updated) roster of characters. The only huge issue is the online performance, which can be horrid if you encounter a host with a bad connection. More so than other fighting games, it seems. Nintendo still doesn't quite have this online thing down... Single-player? Prepare for a headache. The game's AI is incredibly cheap at high levels (clearly reading inputs to dodge and counter with frame-perfect timing). This makes the more difficult challenges on the Spirit Board and World of Light incredibly infuriating. Even unlocking characters can be a chore if the game decides you don't get to win. Overall, the cheap and abusive AI is not quite enough to ruin the entire experience for me, a single-player minded player. But it has left me leaving the game with a sour taste in my mouth after some time player.

If you bought a switch, I couldn't imagine going without this game. It's a great iteration of one of the best fighting game franchises ever. Great for kids, great for adults, great for casual play and crazy hardcore esport play. This is up there with Zelda, Mario Kart, and Mario Odyssey. Buy this so the next time you are at the laundromat you can get your butt whooped by the 10 year old sitting across from you.

It’s a classic game brought onto the switch. The characters are so much to fun and I definitely recommend playing with friends as that’s the most fun I’ve had with it. 100% worth the purchase

Got this for my 5 year old great grandchild and he loves it.

I originally purchased this for my 6 and 9 year old sons but... ended up playing nearly as much as them during the day, and sneaking a few extra online matches while they were in bed. Sadly the boys took the game to a "friends" house one day. Sadly the game did not come back. I wasn't happy, and huffed and puffed for a while, but Ultimately we couldn't live without Smash. 5 Star Game, even on the 2nd purchase.

It's Smash Bros. What else can I say? Well while I'd like a bit more third-party representation, I like that everyone from the past is back and primed to duke it out! With Best Buy leaking the first DLC character render, it makes me wonder if we'll get previews for the other planned characters in the future too. But all in all it's fun with others the most! A must-have for any Switch owner, Smash enthusiast or otherwise!

Why are you reading a review for a smash bros game? You should already know it is awesome.

In my opinion, this isn’t a remaster of the Wii U version. This is a whole new game. Huge roster. Huge stage selection. Smash by yourself or 8 man smash if you’re into that kind of thing. Many modes to keep you busy including a new adventure mode. You can play with 1 joycon, 2 joycons, a pro controller, and a GameCube controller if you have the adapter. It’s a blast whether with friends or by yourself, regardless it’s fun to smash.

Awesome that we can have more than four players on a single console and screen!

If it had been released before the game awards it would have easily taken game of the year for 2018

On the surface this is a simple game but the addition of the spirit board brings a whole new depth
