He was so excited when it was picked up and has been playing ever since with a group of friends.

Smash is a proven formula and Smash Ultimate doesn't mess with that, it just dishes out what we love in a very complete way, all the characters, a ton of stages and music which would be enough for me to be honest, but there is more here, with the spirits mode that just piles on the nostalgia in a set of themed battles to classic mode and lots of ways to customize it so you can play it how you want to. If you like Smash, it is a no brainer this is the Ultimate version of Smash! When I first saw Ultimate, I have to admit I did wonder if it was a "deluxe" version of Smash but once you have played it, you can really tell that it is its own game and while it builds on the past games Ultimate maintains its own style that plays differently compared to Melee or Smash. There are a few games that become console defining titles and the Switch already has a few! Smash Ultimate is easily a contender for top of the pile.

Well, every character is here! Any that aren't will probably be added later with future DLC. Game play is tight and fun as always. Just going through the process of unlocking all the characters is a game unto itself. All the characters look great, are animated great, the stages look fantastic, and there are even hidden details in the stages to find in camera mode. I can't recommend this version of Smash enough.

If you've ever been a fan of this series, this game will check all the boxes. Biggest roster yet with countless stages and game variations, this game leaves you with literally endless playtime. It may not have the tight controls and understanding that Melee held, but this will still scratch that smash bros itch.

Great game. Has been a classic in my family. First growing up with my brothers and now mom of 2 and was the first game I purchased for my little ones to play on their new switch OLED :)

The whole gang is here and you'd not believe how much time you can put into this game. A great casual game for some fun but it also has a really deep competitive scene with a huge amount of community tutorials and guides if you want to learn how to play a 2d fighter. The online mode allows you to have casual fun somewhat competitively, but definately get a network adapter if you want to take it seriously.

super fun - everyone in the family can find multiple games to play

every smash character from previous games in one game? Count me in. Gameplay is tight, great fun for the family and friends and it’s nostalgia at its finest. ONLY downside to the game is you can create an online lobby and have more than one local player play in it. You can co-op in general online lobbies but not privates. Makes no sense but other than that I also recommend the game pass, Banjo is coming!!!

My grandson plays this game and loves all the characters but mario and luigi are his favorite.
