This is my first Smash game, and, honestly, I ordered it primarily because of the hype. If other people liked it, surely I would too. And I do. The roster is fantastic; it's fun to look at the game cover and imagine myself battling as all these characters (some of whom I'm unfamiliar with, but still...). In practice, however, as a newcomer to the franchise, I have a hard time beating the AI. The game starts with only 8 characters available; every now and then a new character shows up, but only if they are defeated. I can only beat them about half the time, so even after a few hours, I've only unlocked, maybe, 10 more characters. So still like 50 to go...this will take me years. Nevertheless, the fighting is fun and I like that the controls are simple and more or less consistent between characters, so I don't have to remember endless combos. I don't have the time nor motivation for that. The levels varied and imaginative; I especially liked the one where it plays the original Marios Brothers level 1-1 as you fight. Overall, fun, but difficult for a newbie.

It was a Christmas gift and he really enjoyed it. A must add to his collection and we got a collectors coin for it too.

This game is really awesome. It’s a great stress reliever. That can come in handy at times. I recommend this 100%

Great game that the whole family can get in on. Just couldn't wait for xmas so the family got a present a little early.

My son can't stop playing this. Easy enough my younger child, but advanced enough for my oldest child not to be bored

Been playing this for a week straight. There are so many characters and the single player mode is fun and challenging.

Smash Ultimate made me FEEL like Smash Bros. This is truly the way Smash Bros was meant to be experienced. If you liked the previous titles in this series, you'll love this game. If you haven't played it before, where have you been the last 20 years? Get up, grab a millennial who grew up on the N64, and have them run you through the entire gauntlet of all 5 Smash games, because missing any of them leaves part of your soul eternally unfulfilled. 0/5 - Boss Baby not in the game

I purchased this for my 8-year old niece as a Christmas present. It was under the tree and she had a good idea what it was based on its shape. It was the present she choose to open first and she "had" to play it before she opened any of her other presents. She's been at it off and on all day. It's amazing how she's improved in only a few hours of play. It made my Christmas seeing how much she enjoyed it!

I bought this game as a gift for a 33 yr old male but the children 3+ yrs old has also enjoyed the game.

Purchased for Christmas for my 3 kids to go with their new Switch system. They have heard great things about the game.

I bought this game for my son and he loves it. Great characters and action. The Switch games just keep getting better.

Great game. I feel like a different sequence of characters added would be great but of course you can expect many DLCs

Some characters like DK, King K Rule are OP but other than that the game is pretty stable. Some characters could use a little bit of a buff or a nerfing. Also the matchmaking process should be more accommodating to those who want to play without all of the extras i.e. if you choose to play with no extra items you should be able to play without these items and not be matched with players who wants to use them, kind messes the online game play up. Reason for the 4 stars mainly.
