While everybody will focus on the roster or stage selection, which are definitely ample, I’ll just comment briefly on the nuances from a fighting engine side. Lots of little details that work well - neutral jabs have more combos, some timings have been tweaked for tilt and smash attacks, etc. The AI dodges better and can be harder to hit properly which makes the 8 or 9 cpu levels just a smidge more interesting. Definitely makes some characters more usable from a fight mechanic perspective. Great game.

If you enjoy casual fighting games, this has to be one of the very best ever. The game celebrates video game history with its HUGE roster of playable characters from different games. There are too many to list here but rest assured that you will be able to find a character to have fun with in this game. They also included a sizeable single player mode to go with the absurdly fun multiplayer mode that you can enjoy both online and on the couch with friends. This is a must have in any Switch owner's library.

This game has so many features, characters and Easter eggs packed in that I've been barely scratched the surface after 30 hours. Huge roster of characters for the price that took over 20 hours to unlock them all. The story mode can take least 20 hours to complete and it's a fun mode with a neat story line and objectives. Online is passable but I hope it improves. It works great in portable or docked. Frame rate is solid and graphics are great on both modes. This is a must buy for Switch owners!

It’s a great, fun game for people of all ages, I recommend this to anyone that owns a Nintendo switch

You need to have at least one multiplayer switch game for when friends come over or you go to a party. I’ve never been a huge fan of Mario Kart and I had SSBM since we first got a GameCube. The number of characters and levels is worth it alone. There is plenty to enjoy if you’re by yourself, but don’t kid yourself, it’s a fighting game, if you aren’t into that kind of thing, look elsewhere.

My kids love the game. It was money well spent. Bought an extra controller for multiple players.

I am new to the Smash title. This game is so much fun for the whole family. The first time we played, there were three of us playing. Ranging in age from 20-58. Dad had never played video games other than Mario Cart, and Video Poker. He laugh till he cried while we were playing this game. It has become a weekly thing to get together and play this on the Switch. We have even added some more older family members into the fray. Definitely a crowd favorite whether you are a seasoned gamer or a first timer.

Purchased for my 15 year old grandson. I remember when he was younger, everything was Mario and Luigi. (Bedding, T-shirts, etc.) After several years of PS4 games he was happy to reunite with the game he cut his gaming teeth on. The laughter and excitement (and groans) he exhibited while playing Super Smash Bros., lifted my heart. I give a 5 star because of the joy it brought him. (And me. Grandparents can relate)

Having grown up on Fighting Games, the current state of the genre is rather dismal. Street Fighter, Dead or Alive, etc, none of them have the same appeal that earlier entries in each series offered. Smash Ultimate, on the other hand, is better than any previous Smash game, lives up to it's own hype, and blows away all other fighters. Accessible for new comers, technical enough for veterans, and filled with a variety of game modes to keep the action from getting stale. 100% satisfied with my purchase.

Bought for my girlfriend which she enjoys a lot since she used to play it in college years ago when the series first came out.

Boasting a roster consisting of all previous Super Smash Brothers characters to date (and a handful of new ones), Super Smash Brothers Ultimate is the most robust title in the series to date. Long-time fans will appreciate the subtle nuances that differentiate this latest entry from its predecessors while newcomers will be treated to the most feature-packed installment yet. My only complaint would be the staring number of available characters and the lengthy process required to unlock them all.

Classic Mario, doesn’t disappoint. Gift for the nephew. He loves it.
