I got this thinking it was just going to be like Melee or Brawl (I didn't play Smash 4 for Wii U or 3DS). There's a lot to do in this, including timed exclusive stuff on the Spirit Board. The story mode is pretty long (for me at least), and a lot of spirits and characters to unlock. I mainly bought this to play with the kids, but I got hooked to it and kept playing long after the kids went to sleep. It's very smooth and natural feeling, like Melee. I wasn't nearly as into Brawl after having played Melee so much. I might end up playing this more than I did Melee. I very highly recommend this, even for those who aren't fans of fighting games. It's just fun! (may update this once I play a whole lot more)

Great fighting game for young and old. Easy to play but also has depth. A LOT of character to pick from to increase replay. Still updates being added.

The controls are tight and refined, the gameplay is amazing. Tons of characters to unlock and an interesting adventure mode on top of the multiplayer makes this an incredible value. A definite must buy!

I’ve had this game for about a week and this is one of the top Switch games out there. The vast array of characters is amazing along with the story mode. Would recommend to any fighting style game lover.

Fantastic game for us Smash Bros fans! The graphics are also out of this world!

My son an I have had a great time playing this game. Easy enough for a 6 year old to pick up how to play but is still challenging. Also the 3D look is great an I love that the also blended in some of the original 2D Mario sections as well. However, I did not really care for the 2 player mode where one person is Mario and the other Cappy. Even though it was two player, Cappy was really still strapped to where Mario was for visibility purpose.

The good: this game fantastic graphics, fun and technical 2d fighter gameplay, great dynamic stages, and a very lengthy single player “adventure” mode that comprises of themed fights. Tons of collectable “spirits” and achievements to unlock. Even a stage builder! DLC fighters are still shaking things up. The not good: Internet play is laggy, and adventure mode isn’t super engaging once you play it a bunch. Spirits are fun to collect, but not as fun as trophies were. Overall: Definitely worth full price because of the immense amount of content you can play through, and because there are so many great unique characters.

My son received a Nintendo switch for Christmas and this was the game he asked for. He is 7 and was age appropriate. He enjoys the game. It's just the right amount of challenge for him.

Bought this for my son. He absolutely loves it. Cant put it down. A fun game for the full family as well. Something we all can sit down and play together as a family

I cannot say enough about this game! The controls are flawless, the graphics are very classic to the original, and the entertainment value is through the roof! This is a must have for any Switch owners.

I’ve been playing smash for years. This one won’t let you down. So many characters and levels to enjoy. Just get it. Also, the GameCube controller adapter from the WiiU works on the switch, so that helps

Very nice game, I really like to play all nights with my friends

This game is amazing when playing with friends. There’s nothing that beats the chaos this game induces into a party environment. Even if it’s just you and one friend playing co-op or versus you will have a ton of fun. And the more people you have playing the faster you unlock new characters. So even if you’re not playing a campaign of any sort you will feel rewarded as you just mess around. But, solo play is just a frustrating mess. You’ll quickly notice that you seem to be facing the wrong direction often, and when you are, half of the time enemies will be just out of your reach even while they’re able to hit you. This makes it so you’re constantly trying to be right on top of your opponent and the CPU players are perfect at countering your moves on any setting above easy. You will also frequently be teamed up on. I guess technically it is forcing you to get better at the game, but in my opinion it teaches you only how to play the game cheap. If you play the same way you play against the CPU as you do your friends, you will not have friends for long. As a casual player I would not suggest buying this game unless you plan on having friends over often, or you’re going to play with a sibling/significant other. Otherwise you will only learn that this game is easily one of the most frustrating games to play by yourself.

Great game. Always loved this game had it on Wii when it came out for that. Love the improvements for this one and the improved graphics are nice. Definitely happy I got this one.

Smash Bruddas has no equal. Multiversus might have gotten closest but Masahiro Sakurai's direction is unparalleled.
